The moment they let you see cameras from the app, I knew it was going to be too powerful. Now they're nerfing it to hell because somehow they didn't anticipate that. I can't believe they forgot the drone exploit, I've seen more than one video about it. I wonder if they ever patched the ability for drones to see hidden stashes.

I think they should’ve just banned using drones with the Rust+ and not every camera. Because there is no point in having a whole camera feature that you can’t use when your online. At that point it is useless. I’m disappointed because I was so hyped about this but it’s just been nerfed to oblivion.

Not sure if you still can see them.. But it was possible to see buried stashes while using the drone from mobile, they showed as small Grey squares

I thought there were range limits on drones though?

yup! you can just place it back there past the wall and still pick it up later if you dont place it too far

I had a similar but different video done and ready to upload when I saw all the rust+ nerfs.... 💀 but I guess it probably isn't good for the game to have drones that automatically follow you calling out players it sees... so this works just fine for me.

@@knoop7102 rust+ bot was able to make a drone follow you automatically with some basic commands, it was ridiculous, but now dead. probably for the better. you can still control a drone through rust+ actually but it doesnt have a ton of use IMO especially now that youll personally need to be offline (or be using an alt)

so its not possible have a second account? in the same server?

Can no longer view feed from Rust+ if players is signed in to the server, as per the devblog released today.

@@hanfiball4136 facepunch has been doing a lot of slapping solos around to benefit clans as of late beside the industrial update which benefited solos more than clans i cant remember a single update that benefited solo players as of late

Does it not decay? When I've left my drone on the top of Launch Site it decayed after some time, I felt like radiation has something to do with drone HP, does it?

when its inside it won't decay or it will at least decay slowly not 100% sure, outside it will and fairly quickly

i mean the drone purpose in war is to spot enemy so its not really OP, we just need something to nerf a bit them or having something to counter it

I was using rust+ bot, but yea they stopped allowing new people because it seems FP is cracking down on the bots and its not clear what will happen. could check out rust link maybe?

Last wipe, I had someone who wanted to raid my group bring drones to bandit camp and do the spy thing where it followed us. Not wanting them to know where we lived (we lived super close to bandit) we couldn't leave. We tried shooting them so they did the !boost thing to fly them as high as they could go and we couldn't hit them at that distance. Eventually we decided to leave and go a different direction, then lose them in a dense wooded area, but their view distance for players was so ridiculous that they were able to follow us through an entire square of dense forest. Eventually, while trying to get away from the damn things we passed by a base with a full team ready to ambush anyone who walked by, a base we would've never had to pass had it not been for the damn drones following us, and we lost our kits and like 5k scrap. Yeah. The Rust+ and drone shit needs to be nerfed into the ground. I'm glad they pretty much broke it with this update.

@@morso9080 well they broke a lot of it. With the greatly decreased player recognition distance, it makes it much more difficult for a drone to identify or follow players. Getting rid of Rust+ access to monument cams keeps people from having a constant automated monitoring of players at monuments. There's still more they can do to nerf it, but this was a huge step in the right direction.

All they need to do is remove monument cams from Rust+ and drones while online. Every other regular camera should be allowed to be used, having a camera feature in Rust+ is pointless now.

Viewing cameras in rust+ should've never been allowed to exist. It made every oiler have a 24/7 IRL livestream of the entire place for free. didnt even take a player sitting on the fucking cams.

The Rust+bot helps zergs even more. They could monitor every monument, have swarms of drones following them and showing them where people are, it was basically esp

Unpopular opinion: I love Rust+ but I don't think any type of meta-gaming is healthy for the game, from smart switches to the new cams/drones. Sure they might help against offline raids and allow you to do some amazing things, but it's just not necessary.

It's not necessary but it does add some cool options for automation, such as autoclosing all of your garage doors via phone when you leave base or log off, turning SAMs on or off, tracking external TC upkeep, etc. It also adds a ton of potential for offline defense, RP electronic stuff, etc. My only real issue is with the drones. They shouldn't have added drones to the game.

Smart switches and alarms make electricity a whole new beast in a good way. Adds dimension to the game where u can be more big brain instead of hurr durr shoot shoot boom boom. Its no necessary but it does differentiate Rust from CoD. Play CoD if u want to point and shoot with no thought.

I hope camera and drones get removed, pretty shitty meccanic imo

Speaking of ESP, Facepunch should release a game mode that server admins can enable where everybody gets ESP... Just to piss-off hacking devs...

everyone cheats at rust anyway so this doesnt matter at all. In no universe are u going to catch someone off guard with your super spy drone LMFAO. Everyone and i do mean EVERYONE and their mom cheats at rust.
