DUDE! SO TRUE! Once that intro kicked in I was sold

Niilo Sevänen, vocalist. Been in the band since the very beginning. Clean vocals mostly by guitarist Jani Liimatainen since 2015 as touring guitarist and 2019 as a member of the band (ex Sonata Arctica, have a band with Anette Olzon, ex Nightwish, The Dark Element)

My favorite band of all times You should definitely check "only one who waits" and "bereavement"

this song is one my favs from Insomnium. just one of all other goodies, they have so much gems.

Glad you're continuing with Insomnium, they're one of my favorite bands. Interesting similarity to Nightwish (besides its geographical and birth date). Nightwish members went to the same school and knew each other even before the band was founded. The same is true of the members of Insomnium. They also knew each other before starting the band because they were in the same school. In both bands, the original members already knew each other before the band was founded, so it's a band born out of friends.

First time i heard this song it was like an awakening. I cannot explain it. 😅 Yes, it is the current singer. Right now in the band there's 4 song writers with 2 clean vocalists and one awesome drummer. The talent is at peak.

Its such a good song!

This song should be played with the album opener preceding it. The Primeval Dark sets the tone for this second track very well. I recommend that you give that a try.

If you like Insomnium, you HAVE to check out In Mourning. Slightly heavier, but similar prog-esque style, big melodies and killer riffs. I'd suggest Thornwalker, Colossus, or Black Storm.

Insomnium's been there for me in times of darkness. Just like Epica and Be'lakor. Recommendation? Saor - Forgotten Paths. Ask no more.

fell in love with this song from the first riff ❤️ recently discovered this band, sometimes they remind me of my favorite Amorphis. I really liked their ballad (yes yes, the death metal band has a ballad 😆), the song is called “Heart like a grave”, which has a very touching video

P.S. You should try Omniun Gatherum for size

If you love these guys, I highly recommend checking out their sibling band Omnium Gatherum. "Frontiers", "New Dynamic", and "Paragon" are great starting points.

They have like a sister band, Omnium Gatherum (the lead guitarist writers there too) you can check. Refining fire, Blade Reflections, Gods go first, The Unknowing (ballad).

it'll be a sad day when we get to what i feel is the most raging bass solo of all time, you'll think no other song can possibly live up to it. till then, that thing i linked and beelzebubs will hold stead.

You can also try Twilight Trails from Insomnium, to my opinion the best metal song ever. Gloomy..heavy...dark..

Should definitely check out The Reticent, The Conjurer, Valediction, White Christ....hell just check out ALL of Insomniums stuff. These guys are so grossly underrated and unknown in America. Fucking been on the Insomnium wagon since In the Halls of Awaiting came out 21 years ago! And along a similar path as Insomnium, may I recommend Wolfheart - Ancestor or The Hunt
