I have listened to metal for 2 decades. Stumbled upon Isomnium in the last 3 years or so. The quality of each and everyone of their damn songs is unreal. Not a single shitty music video either. I classify their music as art, they truly are masters of their craft and I listen to them daily, I cannot get enough.

@@TheWolffAndTheMelody Regarding Septicflesh, 'Chasing The Chimera' is probably one of the best song I've EVER heard. The harmonies are insane. Imagine that this was '94! Nearly thirty years ago.

I'm late to this reaction, but I'm very happy to see Insomnium getting the love they deserve. I'm a massive melo-death fan, and Insomnium are easily in my top 5 melo-death acts along with their sibling band Omnium Gatherum.

Thank you for your Insomnium video! Insomnia is always good Now lately I've been listening to their last album (Anno 1696) every time I drive. It's just so good... Someone suggested you the song "Winter's Gate", a 40-minute piece. If I remember, I think I also wrote about it in connection with your first Insomnium reaction video. So I'm repeating myself now. 😁 I recommend that song, it's a great Viking story. ----------------------------- BTW. News about the new album of another North Karelian band, Nightwish. Kai Hahto informed yesterday that now all the band members' instruments have been recorded and the London part is next, i.e. the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the choir parts. The vocal parts are recorded last. We are anxiously waiting to see if there are other singers besides Floor, probably Troy, but what about the bassist. Will Jukka get to sing too???

Regarding Jukka, as we know from Wintersun that he is an OUTSTANDING vocalist. I would imagine that Thoumas would have the insight to include him to at least a degree.

More Insomnium is always better! I would like to see your reaction to The Gale + Mortal Share from them. These songs are number 1 and 2 on their album Above The Weeping World, and the band has played these songs successively on live shows with The Gale working as an intro song. And dear Cosmic, I would also like to invite you to enjoy more of finnish epic metal music in the form of MOONSORROW. They brand themselves as pagan metal, and they have elements of black and folk metal with incredible melodies. Vocalist/bassist Ville Sorvali has a very unique, raw sound in his scream/growl with lot of emotions, and it fits the band perfectly. Oh, and they sing in finnish! I was wondering very hard which song I should recommend, as their first albums were more on the folkier side with slightly shorter songs (under 10 minutes :D ). But on the other hand, their 4th album Verisäkeet (Blood Verses) was the album where the band said they found what they want to make with Moonsorrow (and that album is a favorite for many, including myself). I guess I'll throw a few here and see if others have an opinion what to listen first: Ukkosenjumalan Poika (Son Of The Thunder God), from their first album Suden Uni (Wolf's Dream) released in 2001 (song duration 6:09) Raunioilla (At The Ruins), from their third album Kivenkantaja (Stonebearer) released in 2003 (song duration 13:36, so a standard Moonsorrow song) Pimeä (Dark), from their fourth album Verisäkeet (Blood Verses) released in 2005 (song duration 14:08) And finally. I think at least this masterpiece will hit Cosmic, but I don't know if it should be the first reaction : Jotunheim, from Verisäkeet (Blood Verses) (song duration 19:28) Oh and don't worry about the durations, those songs will end too fast. I would recommend to have the translated lyrics so you will know what the song is about. Ps. Sorry about the wall of text. I got excited when I found several Moonsorrow reactions, since only a few years ago reactors had issues with copyrights but it seems to be good now :)
