I honestly don't mind a new desdshot that much, if only because the idea of a hero or a villain being a title that is taken by different people from time to time does happen in auperhero media. I just felt it weird that the NEW Deadshot is somehow supposed to be the original and the old deadshot was some sort of impostor. It goes against established lore of the Arkham trilogy. Also the taunts ARE racist. Deadshot is a master shooter, superhuman in skill, and they give him generic black guy stereotype taunts? Really?

It seems like a fairly standard dc adaptation in terms of adapting the universe. This game and so many games are broken because they’re built on a foundation intended to extract as much money from the consumer as possible. They tried to go back on some of it but the bones are still there and they’re bad bones

15:10 correction, it's the devs that make that make the studio. It's like saying "bungie is a talented company because they made halo". The people that did make Halo are long gone, same with rocksteady.

The game launched 22 days ago and the playerbase on Steam already dropped to under 1k players. It's amazing, they actually flopped even harder than Marvel's Avengers.

Dude, the Rocksteady Batman games have *_never_* respected the source material. In BTAS, Harley didn't dress, talk, and act like a cheap [redacted by youtube], nor would The Joker ever impregnate her. He uses Harley and exploits her obsession with him to his advantage, but he'd never actually get with her. Plus, Joker would NEVER inject himself with the Bane serum, Batman most definitely wouldn't run people over with the Batmobile, and Ra's Al Ghul *_definitely_* wouldn't commit Self Crit. It's a bit silly to act like Rocksteady has only now betrayed the source material. You were just fine with it up until now.

We told them EXACTLY what we wanted in a superhero game, and they completely ignored it thinking they would have a cash cow copying the other failed live service games and now they are going lose millions. And then they (WB) still have the audacity to proclaim that they don't "have an obligation" to make a single-player Superman game even after they announced that the vast majority of their DC games and movies are going to be tied-in. They have access to some of the most iconic characters on Earth and they refuse to do anything of quality with them just because they're too stupid to see past the allure of short-term financial gain.

Funny reminder that WB expects this game to have 13 SEASONS, each one with its own Brainiac. It will be no surprise when this game ends with a dumb cliffhanger as they pull the plug on the entire project, meaning anyone still invested in this current story will never have a resolution (unless WB decides to go cheap and speedrun 13 seasons in ONE).

This is avengers all over again. If wolverine turns out the same way all hope is lost for superhero games.

CP2077 had a massive free update that fixed everything, this game fixed the shop menu

"Why are those helicopters flying if Green Lantern died" the right question would be: why did the ring stay in the earth, and why was it still with John? the ring only goes to the "worthy", and John became corrupted and would lose the ring. After the death of a Lantern, the ring goes away after another bearer, and I don't think King Shark would become a Green Lantern. maybe red could even be WHY IS THERE A GREEN RING ON THE EARTH? Why Rocksteady, why? Rocksteady lost our trust just like CDPR, but the difference is that they managed to turn things around by improving the entire game (literally) and managed to win us again, and as they have 2 franchises it's easier. But Rocksteady only had Batman, the only apology would be with a new Batman, but they killed Batman and Franchises

I feel like the core issue with any game based on a licensed property is that they run into using the wrong order of operations, i.e.: make a good game first and plop in recognizable characters second. The Arkham games weren't great because they had Batman, they were a great game with Batman in it. There was an interview with a writer (I think?) of the second live action TMNT Michael Bay movie who literally said something to the effect of thinking people would like it simply because they put Bebop and Rocksteady into it. That's not how entertainment works, and more producers and companies need to understand that.

"I don't know about this, do you want to just play Helldivers instead?" Recency Bias aside, that's kind of telling.

I think one of the things that could have helped was making the characters unique. King shark uses a gun, and captain boomerang uses a gun and I would have liked to do cool boomerang stuff.

Its baffling that WB had each of their two flagship game studios develop a live service game, back to back, thinking they we're going to be successful. Talk about putting all your eggs in one basket.

That has been happening for years. We tried to warn them, but they didn't listen.

I remember me and my mate couldn't finish the damn story for like 3 days in a row until they dropped the first patch because gettin sent to Earth 2 if either of us moved it'd full on soft lock the game. I wanted to enjoy this game, sometimes I got a genuine chuckle but not a whole lot of the time the game has such potential but it feels kinda squandered

I don't think I'll ever buy a game at launch ever again because of this.

I honestly believe even if the current dev team and story writing team at Rocksteady had made a single player game( god forbid with assistance from Sweet Baby Inc) that game wouldve been mediocre at best and forgotten on arrival at worst, as someone said, Blizzard is a dead skeleton run by ESG obsessed freaks and money hungry management so is Rockstead and a lot of triple A studios now.

If there was a leak in the future about CEOs trying to make the biggest flop possible then games like this, Avengers, etc would make sense and I would believe it. Because I don’t know how anybody was thinking this game was going to pop off at all. The same applies to movies, tv, just about all entertainment is filled with baffling decisions that would only make sense if they’re doing it on purpose for some reason.

Suicide of RockSteady will not be buying a game from them again

I’ve been wondering if there are any Rocksteady devs who knew this game was gonna be garbage, said something about it, and were shut down. There has to be SOME right? It’s a shame either way

As one of those 840 people playing, i had to stop last night because the update tanked performance. And can confirm the missions freezing and having to end game once mission is completed. I played a ton on ps5. Playing it on pc this week. And was enjoying it until this recent patch. Saw potential, but seems like they are going out of there way to end it just because it didn't meet there expectations. So those who stick around get screwed!

Well in Bioware's case, the problem was that they didn't start working on the essay until the night before it was due.

I was thinking why did they not just do the teen titans, Robin would be in there so you can have the bat family story still continue but they also have so many members to pick from for different ability heroes and either set it in metropolis or jump city or even San Francisco to change it up from Gotham

The fact that in one hour this video has more views than the all time player peak of the game is crazy

I will be shocked if this game makes it a year. The way WB likes to cut their losses, I could see the servers getting turned off, and this game being given some kind of "endless" sandbox mode for psychopaths to play offline.

"Go play Helldivers" feels like a backhanded shot at both games, considering the "squatting" issue Helldivers has right now.

That issue was solved multiple days before your comment.

It's never a good sign when they quickly try to move on after saying it didn't meet expectations. It's already a low-key confirmation that they're having second thoughts of continuing to support it.

The reason the patches are going to take so long and the DLC is going to dry up, is because all the Devs are busy punching up their resumes for the inevitable layoffs. I doubt the Rocksteady that existed before WB bought them is even there anymore.

No one expected them to actually kill the justice league

I'd like to see another AAA dev company try another stunt like this if the message was not clear already.

Man WB.. it's pretty obvious, even as someone who is not a Harry Potter fan, why one did better than the other. The Potter game: Respected the source material, sold a complete game, satisfying gameplay, met people's expectations in a satisfying way KTJL: Spat on the source material, sold a series of microtransactions and season passes, uber repetitive gameplay, failed to live up to a single expectation

I love that their comment is that it "fell short of their expectation" when everyone after finding out it was a live service looter shooter expected this, just exactly this to happen. Maybe not this bad this quickly, but pretty much this.

I've been keeping an eye on Dying Light 2 and it seems like it's worth trying out now.

Rocksteady has taken a serious hit to their reputation considering that they didn’t use their own writers and instead used a company that does the writing for your games but don’t know much about the source material.

My ex played a significant role in the development of this game, and it's been extremely satisfying to watch it crash and burn. Is that petty of me? Yes. Is it a delicious hit of schadenfreude? Also yes.

I can’t wait for the expose on working at WB. When both MK1 and Suicide Squad, games developed by good devs, turn out this wrong there is something bigger going on.

Didn't the co-founders both leave rocksteady half way through SSKTJL and start a new game studio called Hundred Star Games. I think it's safe to say that rocksteady isn't the studio that we came to love during the arkham games

Yeah I've been playing through this train wreck just out of pure curiosity. And I didn't have any issues until the update. Now there's even loot bugs where you get rewarded uncommon rarity at high levels, and legendary gear basically reverts and loses it unique perk.

You know what's funny about this disaster of a HUD? They have so much garbage in it, but that health bar is so tiny, a Level 1 Sora would go "What the hell is that thing?"

I will give the Suicide Squad game one thing, it made me want to replay the Arkham games, which I forgot enough about that replaying them felt like my first playthrough all over again. It made me realize just how insanely freaking good those games are and it got me really excited about what Hundred Star Games "The real Rocksteady games" will be working on in the future.

It´s interesting to me that the promise of a successful live service game is enough for studios to keep trying. I think their reasoning is that you can have 5, 6, 7 failed live service games, but if you have ONE successful one, you still make a profit. That´s why they keep trying, that´s why it keeps happening failure after failure. If you do manage to get one, you´ll be printing money and that´s worth hundreds of millions of dollars in failed games.

I wouldn't give "devs" too much shit, as generally, they're told what to do and not do. Honestly, when the business side started to weasel its way into the game side, that's when gaming went down the drain.

I think a reason for the green to still be around is if Brainiac managed to use the ring power, like Flash’s speed force has been added to enemies. But I don’t think the story has said anything about the green power being replicated like the speed force was.

i looked it up earlier cause the games are currently on sale, borderlands 3 currently has around 6 thousand players, borderlnads 2 has around 3k just shows how life in a looter shooter will live on if you put love n care into it

When the game was first announced, I thought rocksteady was going to utilize the mechanics we saw in Arkham Knight where Batman is fighting alongside Catwoman, nightwing, and robin where you seamlessly pivot between characters…then I saw gameplay😢

Correction Rocksteady WAS an amazing developer, then they chased away all the people who made the arkham games so they could create this.

Dont forget the bug where i preorded the $100 version and still dont have access to the content that was supposed to come with it. I mean skins just dont exist even after reinstalling and everything.

You keep saying Rock Steady is known for quality, but Arkham Knight was the very first game to ever have to be pulled from the store shelves the digital shelves

Really enjoy how you hop back in these games to experience what people are talking about yourself, even when the game makes it a painful process.

Something I thought about... is it possible that RockSteady was forced by WB to make this game against their desire? I was thinking if that's the case, then maybe RS purposely made it so horrible to ensure WB would never force them to create something like this again?

I believe that the founders of Rocksteady left the studio because of some BS happening behind the scenes, perhaps something to do with Sweet Baby inc. Sweet Baby is considered to be major red flag for many gamers, like Anita Sarkeesian was/is. Personally, i am not invested in the "culture wars" that much, i just hate the live service aspect, with the "ship now, fix later" mindset.

The game is a Game As A Service. The launch of every GaaS is pretty much dire because they release the barebones so they can fill it with content and show they are doing something for the battle pass money. It wouldn't surprise me if this game plays completely different by next year. Unless the finance department realise the insurance will pay off and pull the plug.

The issues I’ve noticed seem to be different, depending on when you’re playing alone versus when you’re playing with other people. I have noticed that there’s an issue where the game fails to load metropolis usually after I complete four of the missions for the support team. Any 4 of those missions scattered around the map that are basically the side missions from story mode repurposed into infinite endgame missions. when I get to the end of the fourth one in a row and I’m on the mission report screen, that usually gives me the buttons for the option of jumping back into the action or selecting a new mission, instead, I get a thing that appears on the screen in the centre that just says loading metropolis. It’s like the game is trying to do a quick reset in order to give you a whole bunch more missions to do, and for some reason just won’t. Making it, so do they have to close the game and re-open it. When I play with a friend, I get a different problem. Where after doing several missions eventually it gets to a point where the server feels like it’s just overheating and falling apart at the seams. period I will say that it did seem like they were able to fix some of the other problems just at the expense of now creating a whole bunch of new problems that are a lot worse depending on who you ask.
