You think this song is awesome now? Wait 'til your 30th listen and you're still hearing new and brilliant little details. It's an absolute beast of a song, it's just raw, dark beauty.

Id say even, wait till he hears it as the bookend of the whole album. Blackwater Park absolutely demands a cover to cover listen, you absolutely fall into a trance and get lost in the story

Team Choppy Drops with another banger. Opeth has to be up there with my top 3 bands. Got to see them live a few years ago too. If you want more recommendations a few of my other favorite songs from them are: -The Leper Affinity -Bleak -Heir Apparent But honestly you can't really go wrong with any of their stuff and there's too many bangers to list

Confessor Of the tragedies in man Lurking in the core of us all The last dying call for the ever lost Brief encounters, bleeding pain Lepers coiled beneath the trees Dying men in bewildered soliloquies Perversions bloom round the bend Seekers, lost in their quest Ghosts of friends frolic Under the waning moon It is the year of death Wielding his instruments Stealth sovereign reaper Touching us with ease Infecting the roots in an instant Burning crop of disease I am just a spectator An advocate documenting the loss Fluttering with conceit This doesn't concern me yet Still far from the knell Taunting their bereavement Mob round the dead Point fingers at the details Probing vomits for more Caught in unbridled suspense We have all lost it now Catching the flakes of dismay Born the travesty of man Regular pulse midst pandemonium You're plucked to the mass Parched with thirst for the wicked Sick liaisons raised this monumental mark The sun sets forever over Black Water Park

My God, Akerfeldt's growls are so impressive... He also growls on some albums of the pure old school death metal band, Bloodbath. You can try the track "Iesous" who's pretty dope imo ! Peace ! By the way, for the next Opeth song, I'll strongly suggest the combo "Coil/Heir Apparent" for a total proggy choppy rollercoaster. I'm sure you'll enjoy it, dude !

I love this song and album so much. Your reactions are great as well bro. The Opeth rabbit hole is a very nice one to go down. I've seen them 9 times live. Awesome shows. The first time I saw them was on the East coast of America on the Blackwater park tour. They were opening for the headline band. Amazing because it was a very small venue with a stage that was only about 3 feet high and I stood in awe at the front. Keep listening my man.

i will credit opeth for being one of the most significant reasons that my musical tastes have expanded. they get you in a groove, a vibe. call it what you will. this is one of those bands that sets a mood. the music ebbs and flows in a hypnotic way. it puts me in a place where i just want it to keep going. ask me to name a favorite opeth track? wow. how to choose from so many? but if i am asked to pick a song by opeth to introduce the band to someone who doesnt know of them... is there a better choice than this one?

Prob my favorite Opeth album and what's not to like about this closer - the very ending where the pitch increases slightly always seemed to me like an accelerated deranged descent into paranoid madness - "... sick liasons reaised this monumental mark. The sun sets forever over Blackwater Park". Perhaps the most freakishly talented growls ever performed by Michael in this one - talk about letting go.

Just found your channel and really digging the direction of the bands you're checking out. More Opeth, more Devon Townsend, check out Nevermore if you like Arch Enemy's guitarist. More Gojira. More Mastodon. Check out Revocation and other tech death bands like Obscura and Beyond Creation... Just a few recommendations. Also, do a deeper dive on Sepultura and Slayer. They both have much better tunes. The sun sets forever over Blackwater Park.

This song is a magnum opus for Opeth. They have so many killer and fantastic songs, but this one and a few others rise even above the rest. Everything is firing on 200% for this song. Its like a buffet of everything they do with their music, and its a 3 star michelin restaurant. The song is so powerful and such a journey that one needs a bit of a rest after really listening to it.
