I must have larger hands or something because anything under a 8 inch knife is a little knife. These tiny 3 inch bladed things are very cramped and uncomfortable. Full size is at least 3.5 inch blade

Your d2 code is not working

Kubey direct sent me a defect knife, sold as new and had a defect in the black paint, I asked for a replacement or refund and they basicly said tough shit, will never promote or buy a Kubey again, just really bad customer service :(

I wonder why Shipping is $19.80 on any D2 product. It doesn’t matter which knife you try to buy in D2, it costs $19.80 to ship to USA, even if the knife you choose is in stock and located in Kubey’s USA warehouse. They also aren’t giving you any shipping options, the $19.80 is the only choice. I’ve ordered from Kubey’s website many times and shipping has always been free except for this 50% off D2 sale. Very unusual and unfortunate.

Uh, that Kubey Blackout appears to be a direct copy of the Kizer Cormorant. Anybody else notice that? 😮

Eh, maybe at first glance. I only see two similarities: Thumb ramp and pill-shaped hole for deployment

that’s not even close to a copy. the cormorant is a wharncliffe with a hollow grind and button lock, with super squared off lines.

I generally like the brand, but not this model. That hump on the spine for the thumb hole turns me off. There's a couple models with this structure I feel the same about. Good review Jerad. Thanks

Bring back the twice weekly “Live”s…Ok…Once weekly. I see the new people show up at them and become regulars…I think they are good for the brand. But I don’t see analytics. Sure you’re making bank and going for the best..$=Time. O.K…fine..,I’ll shut up. I just enjoy them…is all. Cheers

Same but you can't really blame manufacturers for using it. It's properties are extremely well known, they have the tooling for it, its a great steel on a budget and with a DLC coating, it's main weakness is effectively negated!

Be carefull. Corrosion can be worst than other premium steels. BUT D2 have often better toughness and edge retention than many premium steel

I used a cheap D2 knife for several hours yesterday cutting up boxes. No reason to use magnacut for something Iike that.

Dunno man, looking at their site their knives are getting WAY goofy looking and they're still basically only making liner-locks and a couple... 🤮 Titanium frame locks with, even worse 🤮🤮🤮 milled Ti pocket clips. They're using 14C so that's nice, and _for the most part_ their prices are reasonable (still... $200+ for a ChiCom made knife is INSANE regardless of materials) but... everything else I'm seeing looks incredibly goofy to downright weird. I just don't understand that attraction to this company compared to the current offerings from Vosteed, Civivi or Kizer. All three are just leagues ahead of Kubey at this point and despite having a bunch of goofy designs as well there's good stuff in there. I don't see that in Kubey's line-up. I see a bunch of cheap knives trying to LOOK interesting but looking like Gas Station knives IMO.

They have S35VN, M390, 20CV what are you talking about? I don’t know what gas station knives they have and what’s wrong with titanium frame locks with milled clips, that’s like industry standard.their quality kicks the crap out of Benchmade and it’s like 1/3 of the price of Premium offerings.

I agree that their designs are a bit goofy (at least to my eye), but the quality of their D2 is better than Civivi/Sencut (in my experience) and so is the quality of their G10 and the detents. The only vosteed I have (the shilin cutter folder) has a weak detent (maybe my sample?), but otherwise is good. Civivi has the best designs (my taste) and good action (good detents, still not as good as my Kubeys), but their G10 and micarta is not as good as that from the other three (Kubey, Kizer, Vosteed). I don't buy premium knives from these budget brands (If I'm spending decent money I'll go for great steels from Spyderco or other brand).

I like your channel but you are always showing Chinese products. I’m a fan of some Chinese products like Reate or rike but budget Chinese knives aren’t worth anyone’s time or money

Eh, that’s your opinion lol. I love my compression lock raccoon from vosteed and my qsp canary and many more. I also like American knives and high end Chinese knives but claimingchinese budget knives aren’t worth ANYONES time and money is just incorrect lol

I may not get the model but I still like to take a look at them. One of the main reasons he checks out a majority of Chinese knives is because she that’s the majority of the market and they can afford to send there products out to reviewers. Not like a smaller American made company.

That’s funny because Rike has one of the worst heat treats of any Chinese company, I guarantee Kubey runs their stuff harder as does Kizer, Kunwu, even Remette. Vosteed has amazing stuff out and Kubey is fantastic. There is a reason they are popular because the quality is amazing for the price. QSP does some of the best OEM work as well. If WE would use other steels outside 20CV they would be at Reate level.

Tried to buy a D2 knife with the JN50YJ code.. They did not accept it.. Ah well.. I might use the 20% off code for a more expensive knife
