Kizer's slogan is "Action for you!". They ain't kidding.

Love my DLC Purple Fatcarbon Militaw. The gold/bronze looks cool... but i hope someone makes aftermarket scale inserts. Or Kizer offer just different colors/materials like flytanium arcade.

I would love to see Kizer do more 4V and run in a bit higher (62-64HRC), same with their small EDC fixies in 3V at 58-60HRC. On such small knives, 3V should be in the 63HRC range preferably. Would also be awesome to see them release their fixed blades in Nitro V (since they got that) or 14C28N, Nobody wants to see D2 on a larger fixed blade when there are so many better tool steels. I know they rereleased the fixed blade with the ring in 154CM which is a good start.

💯 percent agree with everything you said, and 4v is one of my favorite steels, if you get the hrc right it takes such a crisp edge, easier to sharpen that allot of other knives in the low to mid 60s range and it always keeps a toothy edge even after a little stropping, and with just a little less strength than 3v but with better edge retention than 3v I just love it as a work steel, I use my Spyderco pm2 in cpm 4v for everything,

Spot on! Their 10V seems also soft (try as I might, can't get a decent edge on it). Agree with the 3v and 4v comments (they could and should be done harder).

Dude I’m drooling over that Kizer grouper. That’s one nice looking blade. I love the sound of it. It’s going on my list. I purchased the drop bear when you posted the 30% off notice. That detent is definitely something to write home about. Thanks for dropping this review dude.

You and stassa are Mt favorite reviews. I trust your opinions and reviews. Like to see you do some more budget bottom of the barrel reviews. There are some amazing knives available for under 20 dollars. I am pocket testing a Walmart Ozark trails knife right now which for the under 7 dollar price point and 4cr steel is amazing. Heat treatment so important. 4 cr that micro chips when abused on a steel can rather than rolling. Amazing knife for less than 10 dollars.

Kizer is the only company I buy knifes from, nearly every month. It's very easy to get hooked on their offerings and the service and community around it has improved so much just last year or so. I mean, they don't have many models over 200 dollars so that must attract the normies oput there.

Got to mention that they're doing their nitro v 62 HRC.non coated

Good to hear...is the rockwell hardness on their models posted on their website? I looked at some retailers (WMK for example) and did not see that stat on their info (on the models I looked at). Thanks.

Kizer is killing it with all the new models, something for everyone at all different price points. The Militaw is really catching my eye currently with a couple of fixed Blades like the Smolt in 3v as well. Thanks for the great vid and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable.

Those circular micromilling on scales looks really grippy...this should be used more often in micarta, G10, ultem to provide better grip. Cool.

Hey Jared just wondering why is the bevel of my knife bevel so small at the heel and wide at the tip it really bothers me its mostly a problem on the side where the spine faces me I don't know if it's a technique problem???

18:10 I think this is very possible, I front flipped my militaw saw hard once, that I felt the blade bounce while it engaged. Idk if it would’ve disengaged but it seems like it could just from the force the deployment methods allow 😂 ever since then I chilled with deploying it so hard. Don’t want that sucker biting my one day

The militaw and momo are on my list of knives to get next

I really don’t know why spyderco never ran with the button compression lock. The biggest problem with button lock is the strength but the compression lock fixes that problem

Pt 2…Kizer knows how to :::: up the Cormorant handles…been doing it since the dawning. A “Toy” look.

I know I’m like one of the only hunters that comes here, but that integral looks like a good hunting/skinner. The nice guy would work good as a skinner as well. And I didn’t think that you were going to show us anything that could go up against my Varatas, as far as EDC, but that Militaw is pretty sweet. Kizer definitely got it going on.

Don't bother too much with the heat treatment, at lower HRCs I feel like MagnaCut is just stainless 3V which is great in my book. Depends what you use it for I guess, with folders you don't have much use for the extra toughness.

Hey Jared! I've been following you for just a short while but I've already gotten better with my sharpening! I'm disabled and on a fixed budget so I doubt I could ever afford all the premium stuff you showcase, even though I do drool over them. My monthly knife budget is around 100 dollars. Are there any models that have that premium look and feel but in that price range?

I agree that the Cormorant is ugly, but the best thing about it being said here is that I heard a different reviewer say that the Misdemeanor looks like the Cormorant. I think the Misdemeanor looks significantly better.

I just ordered in today too! The days where I could afford the purple never seemed to line up with times they were in stock….. I too today! Can’t wait to finally get my hands on it, cause the original is my favorite knife and I know I’m gonna like the purple better. Gotta have them all! At least I’m collecting Militaw instead of Shirogorov’s or Herman’s lol. I would love to, but for now I would rather get 6+ Militaws vs. one of those

I just got married, so I really hope they don’t come out with more for a little while in order to give my bank account a chance to recover lol

After that, taking a break….. til the gold Militaw comes out lol. Then another break…. Til the 80’s Camo Carbon Militaw from Blade Show comes out. Ugh I have a problem lol😊 Speaking of Kunwu, waiting for the “Stiffy P” I preordered to arrive. Never tried Vanadis 8 steel, but seems to be similar to K390. I love how Kunwu is venturing into some lesser used steels, and doing a great job at it! I wish all Chinese OEMs did that. I gotta get me some more Kunwus

what hrc is kizer running the nitro v at? i wish companies using nitro v would run it to 62-63 HRC, it still stays super tough but gets a HUUUUGE boost in edge stability and edge retention.

The thing is when Forged In Fire came out we had alot of people who probably didn't have the ability or the means to make a decent knife all of a sudden they think they are blacksmithes/ bladesmiths. There's so much misinformation about knifemaking it's unreal. I've made a few knives in my day and what I'm seeing these days is unacceptable. For example making knives out of files. In my opinion you need to anneal the file before you start the actual knife making process . Some people think since it's already hard you just shape the knife and throw a handle on it. And there's a saying "It's hard as glass" which means if you drop it it will probably shatter. Or making railroad spike knives although they may look cool the carbon content in the spike isn't enough to make a knife hard enough for a decent edge. Or not soldering the finger guard to the blade. The solder helps keeping moisture away from the tang which in turn stops rust. I have more examples but I'm sure you get the idea.

Dude, I like you and the ch. but I have to say I think you have been putting out too much content. Its like, flooding the mind with asian knives. Like 15 a day. Why? you dont need to it this way. Focus on small companies or U.S. companies, no one likes too many choices. It makes people just walk out of the store. Scale down man. Tell some of these guys to take a hike. For example Spyderco alone has models that were done way back that deserve the reward.

I don't know what you're complaining about. He talks about the knife sufficiently and moves the knife around to show every significant feature. Note that he mentions all the knives are linked in the description if you want a closer look. It's a video, not a slideshow, I don't know why Jerad would spend half an hour talking to a knife sitting on his cutting board.
