It's sad that we're experiencing what we did back then where you couldn't transfer from Gen 2>3 all over again, smh.

According to a Dexerto article, Nintendo said that Bank would NOT be shutting down alongside the online functionality, so for the time being, it seems we're all safe from having to panic. Still a good idea to start this now rather than later just in case though.

Nintendo has a habit of sunsetting their old services much sooner than other competitors in the marketspace (there are still some PS3 and Xbox 360 games that still have full online features, granted, they've been slowly sunsetted over the last few years) as they want you on the newest "thing" they've made. As a company, they have no obligation to listen to fans and keep Bank to send mons on to Home. Financially, though, it keeps long-term fans very invested in still playing their newer series whenever they drop. Look at gens 8 and 9, people rightfully panned them for being half-baked at release or them not feeling like they were even trying anymore, but yet they still sold millions of copies due to long-term invested fans.

Since hoopa volcanian and meloetta are back in the series they need to put a shiny mystery gift for them now

I hope they're able to find an alternative to let stuff still transfer from 3ds to home. The switch makes itself a sort-of Hotspot to connect to phones to send screenshots, so maybe they could use that for bank to home?

I hope there can be some sort of cable connection to move your Mons or what you said, pokémon bank has servers but it could probably switch(pun unintended) to using a person's own switch, idk, maybe the switch online subscription could be involvef

Also want to throw out there, that those unobtainable Pokémon lines should be transferred through bank so you have a copy in gen 7. Sun and moon games cannot trade with xy or oras, but if you have a Pokémon from the missing lines in sun and moon you can breed them at a later date and trade within gen 7.

And most Pokemon with obtainable Hidden Abilities prior to gen 8 were only available in Friend Safaris, Hordes, or DexNaving. I know that the Ability Patch invalidates this, but if you want every option available to you, you might want to think about picking them up for a gen 7 future legacy save.

BIG EDIT: I'd suggest scanning shiny Eternal Flower Floette now in the off chance that it releases in Legends Z-A and this entry carries over from Bank! It seems like several people are missing the point of this video completely. The point of this is solely to register impossible to obtain legitimately Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Home's Pokedex without modding any of your systems, games or save files. The QR codes register things as seen in the Pokedex in the game they're scanned to and nothing else, it does not give you the shiny Pokemon, just that dex entry, which then can transfer to Pokemon Home through Pokemon Bank. This has nothing to do with catching any of the Shiny Pokemon scanned, and has nothing to do with transferring illegal Shiny Pokemon into Pokemon Home, just their dex entries. EDIT: Its come to my attention that this isn't working for everyone, if it is not working, and you have not registered that Pokemon as caught in either Bank or Home, that may be the issue. I say "may" because I unfortunately have no way of confirming this is the issue, as I do not have a Home account I can transfer to which is missing Pokemon in its Pokedex. If you're able to confirm this, please let me know.

@@cash_ketchum4958 I have no way to confirm what's going on, as I can't afford to set up another Home account just to check. If you've never caught a Keldeo before this is probably the issue, if you have and you're absolutely sure you've saved I don't know what else the issue could be.

Just confirmed it. Yes, it works if the pokemons base form is registered in home prior. Now I just need to find people that have a few extra base mythicals to mirror trade

Only one I'm having an issue seeing in the Home dex is eternal floette, as I believe the sprite is in the data but not shown, even in the android app version. Unless you hacked one in as the initial form update for Home, and even then, they can get deleted later is what I'm reading.

PKSM on custom firmware does serve this purpose, but that's something you can only get by hacking a 3ds. Having that offline moving from gens 1-7 is definitely handy as you don't technically need a DS Lite and a 3ds and all the legit carts if you don't want to.

I wish you could get Eternal Floette's dex entry in HOME.

@@zweipinguine Save editing with CFW but it doesn't trade online so it's useless. It was removed from HOME a couple years ago, you used to be able to see it in the mobile app, but now you will only get a bad egg.

Really cool video! I'd no idea this was possible, but was delighted to see your video linked on other completionist lists. Great PSA Bizarrely, something about early HOME gave me all Shiny Vivillon entries (including Pokéball) even though i only gad about 4 forms.

Yeah early home transfers were buggy, I have all but one capped Pikachu shiny entry registered because of this

I have so much to do before I can send my remaining Gen 6 & 7 pokemon to HOME. I have to defeat my new copies of Pokémon Sun and Ultra Sun so I can get the full Pokédexes, send my Pokémon over to those games to quickly complete them and snag the shiny charm. I also just started a reset hunt for a shiny Celebi in Crystal VC. I only have done 300 Resets so far. So pray for me please!

Welp, I never got around to play Gen 7 so I guess I need to play soon 😅 Btw, the Ribbon Masters will be doom! The only 10 Shadow Pokémon from Colosseum & XD are the only ones to gain all ribbons throughout the generations… it’s going to be a lot of work 😢

I'm thinking about doing a Scizor Ribbon Master, but skipping the Gamecube games. I don't own them, nor a Gamecube, nor the Japanese E-reader necessary to get Scizor. Besides, if I just catch a Scyther in the FireRed Safari Zone, I can RNG manipulate it to be shiny and have perfect stats. Ultimately I'm gonna do this for me, so I don't really care if it's missing 2 ribbons I'd need to buy a retro console and game for.

It's insane to me that Bank could shut down eventually. They need to come up with some way to move mons forward from 6 to 7 and from 6 and 7 to Home. Also, Transporter's functionality needs to be maintained to move mons forward from 4, 5, and VC gens 1 and 2.

It's sad that for 20+ years we could still play a gen 3 (2002 game) and still transfer the "2002 pokemon" to 2024 games. Hell they even made 1997 game compatible with newer games in 2017!! But soon history will be deleted. Old games, old pokemon will forever be locked in the past😢.

This is helpful to me but only because I want shiny preevolutions in my pokedex of shinies I already have because I reset my file years ago and my shinies are already evolved lol

I'm just glad to get this info to as many people as possible, regardless of how you want to use it. It brings new life into something that used to be mostly used to help people in gen 7 use the GTS.

2:59 3:02 3:04 3:06 3:11 All of these but Manaphy can be obtained in GO then sent to HOME. Unown shinies can be obtained in PLA and sent to HOME. 4:27 all of the Tapus shiny can be obtained in GO - not right this second (they must be in Raid rotation) but they have in fact been released. Zeraora had its shiny released in SwSh I understand that not many are willing to send certain GO mons to HOME (I certainly don't feel like sending my shiny Mew to HOME because I actively use it in GO) for those those strangely common weirdos who catch insanely rare things in GO for the sole purpose of registering them in HOME, that's an option.

So can you only register 10 pokemon at a time to Bank's pokedex, or can you just scan everything (throughout multiple days of course) and then bring them all in once?

Bank can register any amount a day, so if you scan everything across multiple days or even multiple games, then save the entries from each game that has scans, Bank will get all of the entries a game has scanned at the same time. Of course you need to connect each game that has scanned things to get their entries still. If you have 4 gen 7 games for example, you can scan 40 a day.

They should at least release a special edition version of consoles that can connect to previous systems like the link cable I guess. It’s not fair that we have our old games but now they r stuck in past version from now on. I guess their model of “Keep playing with your beloved mons in the new region.

genuinely better to use pkhex and a modded console to do that, because action replays and GameSharks are more likely to have errors (such as not legal met location, moves, and stats) which will trigger a flag in bank. If they dont trigger a flag in bank, theres an even higher chance of it triggering a flag in home and those pose risks of getting your account internet banned

I did specifically say those dont work properly, you must have scanned Eternal Flower Floette before Home patched it to stop breaking the dex.

You only get their Pokedex entry, this does not give you shiny versions of these Pokemon which are actually usable.

Cause i scanned the meloweta hoopas keldio ash greninja vivion victiny and volcanion but in home i can only see ash greninja and it is only visible if i set the filter to all forms and select greninja then go to shiny

Do you have the other Pokemon caught on any form? It should just transfer them all when you transfer something. Also you're certain Ash-Greninja doesn't show up when its set to Shiny Pokemon?

@SaltedNeos i got the ether pokemon frome there game into home, I didn't know I had to put them in home for them to show up as registered but once I did thay did I could see there shinys, but for ash greninja I have to select greninja and go to ash greninja through the menu so I can see it but not on the same screen as the rest of them. Unfortunately I don't have a volcanion dyancy or hoopa so if/when I get them hopefully I'll be able to see there shiny forms

Are there QR codes for Shiny Cosmog, Cosmoem, Magearna (+ original form) and Marshadow?

Stupid question, can my Pokémon home account have the potential to be banned or penalized if I have these unobtainable. / unreleased shiny legendary forms in my Pokédex that I assume the TPC would not expect you to get in this fashion. ( I guess my stupid question can be summed up as “is this legal”?)

Valid concern, but I'd say its unlikely. I've actually contacted them in the past asking them to remove my impossible capped Pikachu entries, and they specifically told me they cannot see individual accounts Pokedex entries or Pokemon. That is not confirmation that they won't randomly do so at some point, but usually when there's a ban wave in Home, its to deal with people distributing hacked Pokemon.

Hmm, check your Pokedex in Bank, I'm curious now. There was a glitch a while back that Eternal Flower Floette caused, but that should've been fixed. And by all, do you mean including stuff like Cosmog/Cosmoem/Magearna, or just the legal ones?

@@DyslexicVal You can see in Pokemon Bank if you have shiny versions of Pokemon registered, might be worth opening a few Pokemon that you don't think should be shiny and see if they're already registered. The fact that only legal ones are registered would be incredibly weird.

Most of these are locked im not grabbing them just gonne wait the unlock out to get them legally

That's totally valid and understandable. I wanted to make people aware the option existed first and foremost, as I'm sure most people were unaware gen 7 QR codes could do this. Even if not using QRs for these mons specifically, being aware a feature and option exists is never a bad thing.

So I got shiny arceus and shiny silvaly and as soon as you put them into bank they auto register all forms. Also when I got the shiny event solgalao and lunala they also registered all necrozma forms despite me not registering them

Into Bank or into Home? Into Home I knew of this already, but as I found out after I posted this, Bank doesn't actually add anything if something is transferred in, as my gen 4 shiny living dex went through Bank and none of the entries are saved there. Home registers all forms which require an item or in battle transformation if the Pokemon is deposited as you can't deposit them. I knew of Necrozma being weird, but the base form never registered for me when I got those two in.

If you're sure you followed all steps in the video, saving in both Bank and the gen 7 game, opening Bank's Pokedex before the transfer, the only other thing I can think of which I wouldn't have run into because I already had everything caught is that you might still need to have the Pokemon registered as caught in either Bank or Home. After all, this does only register a Pokemon as SEEN in the Pokedex. I didn't really think of this until now, and probably need to test this.

I'm gonna be honest, I'm really struggling to find much to talk about with the friend safari. All the Pokemon from there are catchable in ORAS, so it just comes down to Pokemon only there in XY or Pokemon who only have access to their hidden ability there in gen 6, which while good info to have, and I did compile it, I can't find much to talk about and making giant lists of Pokemon isn't really the kind of thing I intended to try and put out.

To be fair, I also stumbled into it by accident one day back when Bank transfer was new and said, "This is neat, I'm going to try and register every single shiny in Pokemon Home". As a result of that as soon as I saw the shutdown notice and the news that Bank would be following at a date after the rest of things shutdown, this was the first thing I thought of.

Not to be that guy, but it's exactly as you say, not everyone has a 3DS, however that also doesn't mean everyone does not have a 3DS either. Its unfortunate that you can't take advantage of this, however Game Freak cut this feature after gen 7, so there's not really much that I or anyone else can do for you on that front. If you know anyone at all even just online that has the capability of doing this, you can do a transfer from their Pokemon Bank after they set this stuff up, as you can do a Bank to Home transfer by transfer code which doesn't require the 3DS being near the receiving device.

Well that is nerve wracking, i hope i don't have potential to get banned...

I'm not gonna lie, I hate the transfers going away don't get me wrong, however these games dropping in value is actually something I'd like to see happen. Its getting out of hand.

My ass is racing agaisnt time to hatch 1 of every shiny starter aswell as poiple, fossils and the legendaries AND get my gyarados ribbions

The starters will all be available in the gen 9 dlc though. But it is easier to MM in gen 7 and use the swap method with magikarp eggs, which I'm doing right now too for the shinies I'm still missing that aren't available in gen 8 and 9.

Ash-Greninja is only available from the Sun and Moon demo, and that Greninja is shiny locked. Which means the method in this video is the only way to register Shiny Ash-Greninja in Pokemon Home.

Not to brag, but it did feel kinda good when he was going through the mons that are not impossible to get shiny normally but are still probably smart to scan. Because the only one I don't have in home yet is manaphy😂

so what do i do if i want to keep my pokemon from gen 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 so they work with home if bank closes? i only have games up to omega ruby. because i hate every new version thats come out(either visually or cause how lazy hunting has gotten)

Hack your 3ds at that point. Plenty of guides online in video form and the site gets updated whenever Nintendo decides to update the 3ds once again. If Bank closes, unless Nintendo releases some kind of one-way app for former Bank users, there's no way off of the 3ds platform unless you get yourself a hacked Switch and trade with yourself to an unhacked Switch that has your Home profile on it.

Btw, if I never buy subscribtion in Pokemon Bank, but I installed it, can I use it now when Shop is shut down?

If you want to get Poke Transporter you need to have a modded 3DS I think so you're just stuck with Bank for now

if pretendo can get their work up and running, it doesn't matter if the servers go down, cause it's easy to hack your DS and link to theirs instead, so nothing will be lost.

You do realize that Pokemon Bank not being supported means that they're going to remove the feature from Pokemon Home. I also don't really see why Pretendo would even host Pokemon Bank given that hacked 3DS consoles have offline variants of Pokemon Bank that do everything else except the Home Transfer better.

@@SaltedNeos considering how bad they are at removing things when they very much don't want us to find them, I highly doubt they're going to take the time to do that. they're also likely saying "bank will work with us" as a short hand to calm panic by people who haven't hacked their systems and don't know that exists, knowing it can be explained and received better later when everyone isn't losing their minds.

@@Moon-Vixen Dude, even IF pretendo can replicate Bank, you're not going to be able to make a transfer code anymore, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to remove ONE BUTTON from a menu. They don't even need to remove the code for the feature, they literally need to remove the button from a menu, and not allow people to use the app until updated, which they already do they already do this regularly.

@@SaltedNeos never underestimate the power of spite ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ especially from one of the most ornery and spiteful communities on the internet. they pushed an update they believed would prevent us from hacking the 3DS after closing the shop, and we broke every version in under 24 hours, some in just literal hours after drop. I'll still prepare, your advice is good and I appreciate it immensely, but I have absolutely no doubt the community will figure out *something* as we always do.

@@Moon-Vixen The solution is without a doubt going to be bypassing Bank's transfer service by injecting the Pokemon through some means, which already exists. I have no doubt that the existing discord bots will be used for that very purpose for those without a hacked console. Hacking something which is mostly offline is one thing, and something I'm myself familiar with, as I made the 3DS version of Pokemon Shuffle's preservation mod, but hacking this feature back into home requires fucking with Game Freak's server and Pokemon Home directly, and is nowhere near as simple a feat, as always online services will kick you out the moment they detect a desync.

I mean, you can't really say having to hack in Pokemon to get dex entries can be called "possible", the fact that you have to hack for them, literally means its not possible. That's like saying you can get a shiny Ogerpon or something rn.

So it's just Dex entries but you don't actually get the physical Pokemon itself when QR scanning?? Its not a complete Shiny Living Dex if you don't actually have them....so I kinda see it as whats the point. "Check this out man, I got the Pokemon Home Dex entry for shiny Victini & both Hoopas" "That's cool, do you have them to play with in any of the games?" "Nah man I don't but look I've got their Dex Entries" "So you don't actually have them right?" "No"

Not everyone going for shinies in Pokemon Home was specifically going for a living dex, including myself. There are people out there who just wanted to get as many of Home's shiny Pokedex entries as possible, as Home does actually track and show you the number of total shiny forms you've deposited. Its in the same vein as trying to get all Pokemon Go dex entries in Home, which it also tracks.

@@dawntwilight I already got all the stuff for my shiny dex outside gen 9 before SV released thankfully, but things like the Galarian Legendary bird shinies trying to find someone to trade for them from was really annoying, but I ended up finding them in a discord server I was in. I'm just working on the gen 9 shinies now. I also already found my Go Salazzle through the GTS somehow as well. I just have the mindset of grab what I can in Go, since theres no crown coded for it in the dex screen and we're probably never gonna be able to transfer in Spinda from Go. The Go dex is effectively like Mythicals in the main series dexes, they'd be preferable to have but they don't really act as fully complete when they are.

@@dawntwilight I've heard they matter for like exactly Original Colour Magearna and not much else. I had them already when I got mine (and subsequently lost it cause my original switch died) so I can't really confirm or deny if they are needed for exactly that. I just happen to like completing pokedexes. Meltan and Melmetal aren't bad at all if you're just trying to complete the regular national dex though, its slow paced, but at least its not too difficult.

News flash they will not be impossible to bring to home. If you have a modded 3ds and a modded switch (which is possible even for oled but launch ones are easier) you can always just extract your save open pkhex take the Pokemon you wish and extract it then Open up your extracted Pokemon sword/shield/scarlet/violet save from a modded switch then drag the exported pokemon from the previous to the new and it will be usable from the get go after you save the changes and inject your save back into the switch.

The method you just stated specifically actually prevents a Pokemon from ever entering Pokemon Home period due to not having a proper Home tracking value. Considering the entire point of this video was specifically to get Pokedex entries in Pokemon Home, that really doesn't apply here. Not that it matters anyways, because this video was specifically about a situation which doesn't even give you the Pokemon you're depositing, through a method that only works because Pokemon Bank exists.

Lol I modded my ds to get pokemon bank for nothing

Hoopa, Keldeo, Meloetta, and Victini will eventually be available in Pokémon Go. A tour such as the Unova tour in 2025 guarantees releases of all shiny mythical Pokémon. Whether you will have to travel to NYC to get one or not is not known. The shinies that will be locked with Home after bank shuts down are Type Null, Poipole, and Manaphy.

Uhhhhhh not really no. They only release one mythical shiny per go tour. Johto actually didn't even have celebi available shiny which people tend to forget. As for the event itself it will more than likely be Victini as they release the shiny mythical Pokemon in order of go fest release. We may see Victini or we may see meloetta while genesect will be raids obviously. As for 2024 go tour we have yet to see what they do as manaphy,arceus,phione,have yet to be released in go. If anything it will probably be like go tour Johto where it includes the mythical but not available shiny and the masterwork quest probably includes arceus or elite raids will include arceus. We won't know anything until niantic releases the information

@@gta71000 Celebi had its shiny released before the tour so it doesn’t count. As I said, all of the shinies will eventually get released for their respective tours, but some of them might end up exclusive to the in person event similar to how Deoxys in FRLG required you to travel.

Easy, Pokémon Go will release them eventually, easily transferred to HOME, and you will have the legit.

Considering Pokemon Go can't even release Keldeo as a non-shiny without you having to buy it AND as a timed research, and how they're currently handling Cosmog, that could take another decade. However I'd of course love to see Go release some of these Pokemon eventually. Its unfortunate that Go's Kanto Cap Pikachu can't transfer to Home, as that would've been a nice solution to that issue. I'm with you though, Go is the most likely way most of these will end up being released, aside from Pokeball Vivillon who I expect to end up as another generation's standard Vivillon pattern.

They are obligate to do this event once per year and on that event whole new generation getting unlocked in normal and shiny forms. In 2024 we will have Sinnoh, so if Nintendo Company or just Niantic dont fu*k up events, we will get everything shiny legit for the first time in the history of Pokemon games (Hoopa, Keldeo etc.)

You cannot transfer all the event forms of all the Pokémon in Go and when you transfer them into home they get a PoGo sticker on them knowing where it came from unless you transfer them to Let's Go to get rid of that sticker, but only work on Gen 1 Pokémon, so yeah

That’s what they were saying. They never said anything about oh we gonna close them dwn a year after we scare everyone into buying these games. Also Ik nothing lasts forever for a company they r all about profit but Nintendo keeps going on n on about customer satisfaction n how they care about their customers/fan base but they just messing up over n over recently. They r becoming greedy shills n r putting profits over their products n over their consumers. Also Ik this is just another ploy to make the ppl buy these again when they re-release them or make them pay for them on the online plus thing for like $60 a month.

I specifically remember them advertising that this was their permanent solution, so it does bother me that Home came out, but they clearly needed more money, so they made it 5x as expensive.

I'd gladly pay more for pokemon BANK if they needed, but for home now knowing it will also get ditched in a few years? I'm settling my mind on leaving my pokemon in old games forever now. I'm also disappointed at the franchize since SwSh anyways, so maybe I'll ditch pokemon like GF and nintendo ditched old fans...
