The G League needs to start paying a salary competitive with foreign leagues like Euro, China, Australia (and more up and comers even like Japan). Because as it stands right now, you have some near NBAers like the ones in this video, but for the most part the rosters are filled out with dudes you have never heard of. There is a reason the guys who average 20 plus a game in the G League either make the NBA very quickly or go overseas for the rest of their career, and it’s money. I am not saying these players are putting up inflated numbers, but the competition for the most part in the G League is well short of the NBA (which is why it is very rare for non-drafted/non-2-way guys to ever get looks in the NBA).

So you think they should pay salaries comparable to other top tier pro leagues, while also saying the G League is well short of the top tier pro leagues? Average G League salary in 22/23 was $8,000/month AT LEAST, and two-way contracts could pay up to $500k/season. I’m not losing sleep over that lmao

@@remylebeau5212 I am saying they should pay G Leaguers a few hundred K a year. That way they can entice good pros to leave other leagues. This would make the talent across the league go up, help these sort of guys actually get better, and it would without a doubt increase attendance at the games

the problem is that they play for an NBA draft not for the win, as an old European basket player (not fully pro) I can tell the mentality is really different. In Europe, you play to win and only win if not you're on the bench.

They need to start fining for tanking and having bad records, fine players for sitting or having fake injuries, stop letting players hold teams hostage and demand trades or even let ridiculous trades happen like having 6picks involved like they have that many picks like an NFL team?
