I think glaciate is a showdown error, since in game glaciate turns into ice burn and you can’t relearn it

It's probably because it's a form of kyurem and kyurem CAN learn glaciate. Oddly it loses that move on form change

@@cryochick9044 Glaciate is the "precursor move" for the Kyurem formes learning their respective signature moves, kinda like how Iron Head is the precursor move for the Behemoth attacks of the SwSh doggos

Shoutout to the guy on showdown ladder who uses palkia origin, we both say 'neigh' in chat every time we meet

You can't use Glaciate with Kyurem White. That is the signature move from base Kyurem, and when you transform it into Black or White Kyurem, it is replaced with Freeze Shock or Ice Burn respectively (the same goes for Scary Face, it its automaticaly transformed into Fusion Bolt or Fusion Flare)

I've been messing around with Kyurem White for a bit & I've been loving Glowking as a support mon as a kinda inverse to Tornadus. Poison-Psychic resists KW's fighting & fairy weaknesses, trick room helps with speed control, chilly reception can help win the weather war & pivot into KW and friends, foul play helps deal damage while fully investing in bulk & threaten the Calys especially, and the 4th move can flex, but I've been liking snarl. Regenerator pairs well with chilly reception & Curious Medicine can help mitigate snarls & icy wind that hit KW because it can't protect & intimidate drops on physical teammates. It can be a bit clunky outside of lead, but it's fun

The top8 in the Carolina special had an Ho-oh tera grass, very cool team and have a paste to use

"You see Maushold" No...no I do not Ho-Oh doesn't get Roost this gen. It does get Recover, though When Reg G was announced, the first thing I did was build a Kyurem-White team. I had Snowscape Tornadus on it. It seemed so intuitive to me that I don't know why it's not a thing. I've always wished Kyurem-White actually did keep Glaciate...that would be really fun to play with

Honestly, I'm surprised we don't see Maushold. I used Maushold in GC3, which obviously was Reg F, and it was tearing things apart fairly effortlessly. But looking at the calcs I can honestly see it still working if you bring a slightly even faster built Gouging Fire to ensure you get a Howl off first. But even without a Howl, Maushold slaps stuff like Kyogre, even with a less than ideal 8 hits. *252 Atk Technician Maushold-Four Population Bomb (8 hits) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Kyogre: 168-200 (96 - 114.2%) -- very high chance to OHKO* At +1, Maus bops the most common Groudon spread in 9 hits most of the time. 10 is confirmed death. *+1 252 Atk Technician Maushold-Four Population Bomb (9 hits) vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Groudon: 189-225 (91.3 - 108.6%) -- approx. 12.5% chance to OHKO* But the funniest calc is that of Calyrex-Ice. Since you are absolutely going to be outspeeding a Caly-Ice, and you can get a guaranteed Howl off if you don't get fake outed or prankster taunted on the Gouging Fire. *+1 252 Atk Technician Maushold-Four Population Bomb (10 hits) vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Calyrex-Ice Rider: 190-240 (91.7 - 115.9%) -- very high chance to OHKO* The main issues are obviously Caly-S and Zamazenta. Zam in particular, even if you did 10 hits, at +1 and you somehow won the lottery and got a crit on every single hit of Pop Bomb, you'd do 75% at most. I'm honestly also considering converting my GC3 team into some manner of Reg G team, just so I get to mess around with Maushold. Maushold calcs are unhinged.

Palkia and Reshiram would be very good in double restricted.

On my Kyurem-W team, I run Slowking as my water mon since it has access to Chilly Reception and can pivot Kyurem-W in reliably with weather advantage, primed to wreak havoc.

I've been using a team with palkia-o along with noivern. Since its slightly faster than palkia it can ensure a dragon cheer and also supports with tailwind and thanks to telepathy i can run surf and spam it in rain for big spread damage

this might just be my inexperience with vgc, but i think a huge issue with most of these fringe restricteds is that they're in mid speed hell. caly-s, the dons, zamazenta and all the paradox mons can easily outspeed them, but if you try trick room then you'll get undersped by many mid speed mons and destroyed by real trick room mons. so in order to use them you need excellent speed control, and there isn't even a benefit to doing that since they aren't any stronger. kyogre and terapagos can overcome this through sheer bulk and insane power but a palkia spacial rend isn't competing with kyogre in rain or specs tera starstorm

Thank you for believing in Ho-Oh! Tera-Dragon is interesting but risky into the Mirai/Koraidon menace, definitely something interesting to think about. I've been using Tera-Poison to just keep things neutral for most trades, but I'm not sure that's optimal either.

Regular old Iunala does get wide guard, not sure if that’s enough of a reason to run it, but it’s very strong into Caly ice in particular.

Tera dragon dialga completely changes its weaknesses and can do insane damage sometimes next to chi-yu with draco meteor. Amoonguss, flutter, chi-yu, guts ursaluna, and +1 makes a stronger than normal meme team imo

Been using Snowscape Tornadus for a long time beside Glaceon in past Regs so you better believe when i'm ready to get back into snow that Tornadus is right beside Kyurem-W

Been cooking a dragon cheer Eternatus team, we’ll see how it does

necrozma-dawn is a good hard trick room alternative if you want a a special attacker (and not caly-ice)

I'd love to see a video on great supports in the current format. I've been trying out Scrafty, and honestly, it's kinda heat. it requires some decent positioning, but that thing is BULKY with AV.

Choice specs tera ice blizzard on Kyurem-w does insane damage. Throw helping hand on there and you’re ohkoing mons that resist

I've had a ton of fun with Ho-Oh and a scarf Coaching Urshifu next to it. It don't think i'd say its good, but it is fun and i definitely wouldn't say its bad. Instead of tera dragon and playing the draco mind game with Miraidons i found it was simpler to just run tera ground and tera blast to one shot them after a Coaching. Your Kyogre matchup gets worse as a result but its not too bad.

I definitely run snowscape on my tornadus Kyurem White is super fun I run blizzard freeze dry and earth power I had no idea about glaciate

If ho-oh got access to uturn is 100% be using it as a bulky choice banded pivot/cleaner. That much bulk+regenerator paired with sacred fire and brave bird would be awesome, slap on tailwind for niche tech, roost in case of knock off, or earthquake to hit electrics. Also pairs well with EQ users so great tusk or garchomp could pop off. What a missed opportunity

I think a majority of the caly ice have speed because its so hard to get a pokemon with zero speed IV’s in game.

Just throwing this out here in case y'all never thought of it cuz it sucks and all that, but... have the kyurem white users tried out with Abomasnow instead of A-Ninetails? Is it too bad of a mon to be used in general or do you think it can have potential considering the meta rn? Maybe it can be used similarly to A-Ninetails yet differently. Same job, set snow, but the rest of it, is something that is a job that Abomasnow can do but A-Ninetails cannot, BECAUSE of the meta we're in. Again just throwing that out there to plant that seed in ur head so u can at least think about it and look at it an such, ya know. Also, Ho-Oh is really good for the meta. Fire types are honestly really good and that flying type is a good secondary offensive option. Not only that, Ho-Oh is FAT, strong, and has good support. Recover, Life Dew, and Tailwind are difficult and genuinely mixes up on what that Ho-Oh wants to do. If it only runs sacred fire as it's only damage move then it's gonna most likely run 2 of the moves I said and it's still fine. Like I said, fire types are good, why? Cuz they are just useful for the meta. They deal with a lot of the meta picks and anything resisted is fine cuz Ho-Oh is FAT as hell and u would already have mons to take on the mons ur Ho-Oh can't deal with it's fire type move, and that's only like a couple of them. It's item choices are good overall too. Ho-Oh should be eating, idk why y'all taking so long to serve it's food.

I was so blinded by hyper offense in the past regulations I get nervous when seeing something do like 30% when doing calculations but it’s just so nice to have games be taken more slowly

Why run Tera dragon Ho-oh instead of grass? Is it because of the better matchup against Koriadon and Incin when tera’d? I feel the neutrality to dragon and amoongus resistance would be preferred, unless Torn weakness is too much currently

Fire resist is nice cause grass makes the fire weakness pretty exploitable. But I think grass is also good

The shade at calyrex shadow just because everyone in the west is overpreparing for it right now, once people start overpreparing for miraidon and koraidon calyrex-shadow will be there to sweep worlds

If you're running Tera dragon on ho-oh to resist electric and water, especially against miraidon, wouldn't terra grass be better? Grass has these resists and isn't weak to dragon or the Terra fairy sets, and helps with match ups like (terra something not weak to fire) amoongus

Pretty much. I mean, if you really want to not be weak to pelipper hurricane Tera dragon is the play. But being neutral to dragon is better overall, plus no fairy weakness is always a plus

Dragon is a better physical Defense type so, it makes sense to Run it on hooh which Has high spdef. Personally i like Fairy because of urshifu.

I'm currently in the process of building a Kyurem-White team and honestly, as someone who has never used any of the Gen 5 legendaries - I'm surprised at just how hard Kyurem-White absolutely just mauls Kyogre and Groudon as well as Miraidon, if you can either redirect or fake out the Miraidon first to avoid the OHKO Meteor.

Yeah, I’ve felt Palkia-O is great partners with Dipplin/Support Hydrapple for a while. Aside from the Dragon Stack inviting Flutter Mane, Dipplin reduces evasion for Palkia’s inaccurate moves like Hydro Pump and, importantly, Spacial Rend, and can increase Crit Rate for Palkia with Dragon Cheer. I’ve been trying to set up a team for Palkia-O, and am beginning to settle into a weird Rain Team thing.
