Titanfall 2 will always be one of the greatest singleplayer campaigns I've ever played. It really sucks that it had such shitty launch timing, also rip Titanfall 3 :c Plus, it goes on sale for like $4 all the time, so anyone who doesn't own it, wishlist it and get it next sale. The singleplayer content is spectacular.

I still haven't gotten it, nor have I played it despite downloading it through the EA subscription thingy I never used except to see how abandoned Anthem was. As an fps, it just doesn't inspire me at all to play. Like even Ultrakill was heavily underwhelming, to which I'd compare it to a less polished yet better packaged game like ToG (that understands the ceiling of it's features and lets the player run wild, where ultrakill comes off as tacky and confined at best in terms of staging and gunplay).

Love isnt always on time
you leaned in hard into the "i kill evey game i play" meme, love it!
Nosgoth was quite fun for what it was, its basically the multiplayer part of a cancelled legacy of kain sequel. It was dumped out of the gate by square enix.
Nosgoth was a game about 4 vs 4 class based heavy co op game, you needed to work together doing basic tasks like capping objective etc. Problem was weapon balance, all weapons were slightly different version of stock (it was F2P game with P2W Business model without P2W items), it didn't make enough money in early access so it got cancelled.
Battlerite deserved C tier. It was an enjoyable twist on MOBAs during its initial release with the fast, easy-to-start, arena style matches. It only dipped its toes into battle royal after it was already dying. And before it was infected by the battle royal scene, it was a very solid game.
Nosgoth was one of the best games I've played in the last 10 years. I wish you had given it more time, it had so much potential, so unique for its time (2014) and unique still today! The one race vs another race vibe like Savage Battle for Newerth, even if it needed some balance it was so challenging, rewarding, it felt fresh. I would totally play if it re-released now.
Loved playing Nosgoth.
bruh the reason nosgoth a dead game is it not playable anymore , was general really fun a team of 4 hunter which zone and cloak ablility try surivive the night while a team of 4 vampires try split them up and take them out
Great video describing what a dead game is so that people dont confuse it. Its a shame with games like Titanfall 2, Quake champions (and Quake Live for that matter) suffer from low player numbers, although Titanfall 2 has the Northstar client which is the safest way to play the game. Quake Champions I did want to be successful and I still play it sometimes against bots but man the low player amount worries me immensely. Its sorta why I stuck to a lot of PvE based games or single player games that offer longevity and heavy amounts of replayability. With cheating getting even higher and higher by the day it basically tells me there is no point in playing any of these games if cheaters are running rampant.
Hahaha. The most funny thing is that I got an advert of some mobile game with micro transactions right after "MICRO TRANSACTIONS!" at 17:30
I really am sad that Bloodhunt died. It was a really fun game that was a breath of fresh air in a saturated market. But they really let a couple stupid, frustrating bugs chase everyone away. They prioritized trying to suddenly infuse the game with microtransactions instead of doing anything that would actually keep their playerbase around.
I remember playing Natural Selection 2. I quit after only a few matches for several reasons. 1) I didn't know the point or goal of the game. 2) Nothing was explained. 3) I only got flamed by players when I tried to learn. 4) Trying to figure out wtf was going on, was impossible 5) I ended up just running around treating it like a team death match, but I knew I was missing out on half the game, with nothing explained...

i have about the same experience with NS2 as you, Crambit... hurts a bit
I put so many hours and money into Ring of Elysium... That game was, top S tier battle royale imo, and I loved how the end all came down to getting onto a helicopter, and the dynamics of it. It's really shitty that the devs just completely ignored the player base and what they wanted, and ignored the stuff they hated or changes, pushing everyone away.
This video contains an alarmingly high concentration of content per minute. Watch at your own risk.
Nosgoth was actually really fun but they shut off the servers really really soon. I don't even know how they still have players, must be some sort of custom servers...

Yeah or bot accounts on steam booting up exes and idling for a moment in the exe load up. The world's full of strange stuff going on.
I'm here just picturing you screaming into your mic trying to go further beyond lmaooooo
big reason for shatterline's demise was that it's developed in a war-ridden country, some devs mobilized, power outages due to rockets destroying energy infrastructure took down servers and stalled the development process
Nosgoth was fun and unique back in the days. I got a closed beta key for me and a friend at gamescom by the Devs I think back in...2014? Anyway. The whole thing took place in the Legacy of Kane-Series (the Vampire, not that Vin Diesel-clone from C&C) and was an asymmetric 4vs4 3rd person "shooter". One team played the hunters, basically cosplaying the Van-Hellsing-movie. Different classes with unique weapons like light bombs, "shotguns", auto-firing crossbows, you get the idea. The other team played the Vampires. They had classes too, but their quirk was that they revolved around movement. And for those the devs "only" copied two concepts from Left 4 dead. One being the Hunter (in Nosgoth he could climb walls and leap on enemys) and the other one basically the charger. Then their was flying dude and...I forgot the other ones. It was really really fun, at least in the beginning. The idea and the whole gameplay concept felt fresh and new, and if you could get a few people together for a team it really was a banger. Especially because it had, if I remember correctly, a ranked mode. The stakes always felt high and you really had to be creative sometimes in your team-comp to win a match. But thats were the problems began. First, there was the steep learning curve. If the flying vampire grabbed you out of the group and carried you away, there was nothing you could do. If your teammates weren't competent enough to shoot that thing so it lets go of you, well. Good luck surviving falling 200 meters into the other 3 waiting enemies. But it was the same with the vampires. Especially new players would rush in mindlessly instead of coordinating which resulted in lots of lost rounds. Part of that problem was, that some of the "must-have" abilities and perks of certain classes (plus weapons for hunters) had to be unlocked first. I forgot if it was with in-game currency or by levelling, but it was tedious and took some time, during which you were basically useless against players with higher levels. Another big issue were the imbalances, both with maps and classes. For example, I remember one map that had a big town square surrounded by walls with just one tower on one side. If the hunters had played this map only ONES in their lifetime, they would hide there. You as a vampire then only could attack with either the flying class or you had to hope they didn't look at the tower to allow you to leap at them. Which, as you can imagine, rarely happened. So if the hunters knew at least A BIT what they were doing, the vampires had no chance. The classes too had huge problems. There clearly were "good" ones, with allrounder-abillities like group healing or stun abilities. And then those with situational value AT BEST. The game also delved into ingame purchases and some of the more "meta" abillities (vampires) and weapons (hunters) had to be unlocked first. Thats stuff people probably would shrug off today, but back then it was a no-go. The Devs were relatively active at the start, but never really fixed the problems the game had, and at some point just stopped developing or even caring for the game at all. Afaik it never left the initial beta phase and got abandoned due to the publisher deeming it unsuccessful, since the player numbers never really reached the hights they wanted and revenue also evidently wasn't high. What remained of the player base died down within weeks. It's really a shame, because the concept and (partly) the game itself were SO good. But poor management and missing commitment in the end killed it. I could see it getting some traction with a new iteration as free 2 play and with a battle pass, tho. Because with THIS game, those mechanics would at least make sense. But I don't have any hopes, I think the studio doesN't even exist anymore.

I'm still chasing for a game that matches what I felt from Dirty Bomb. I forget the characters name, but I used to parkour the crap out of the game charging up my defibrillator and smoking enemy players with it. Towards the end of pretty much any given match I would have players running once they heard the defib's charging I've played about 20 hours of Shatterline and had an absolute blast but I work Night Shifts so its even harder to find good matches when I'm awake. I'd recommend everyone to check out The Finals as it also has a lot of Dirty Bomb energy in it, but fuck Nexon

Toxikk was a great a Unreal Tournament like game. Frag like it's 1999, I wish it didn't die. Playing against bots isn't the same.
Spot on about the RTS genre. Such a fun and unique style of game, definitely wish it would make a comeback. Honestly you should have included Warcraft 3 reforged. Not only did it not deliver promised features, it had LESS FEATURES than the same game from 1999/2001 and also REMOVED/KILLED the original game. To add insult to injury blizzard basically abandoned the game afterwards instead of fixing it, mass deleted posts on the forums of people complaining and asking for refunds, and instead started remaking Diablo 2. Honestly no game breaks my heart and gets me as heated as what blizzard did to Warcraft 3. It was the perfect blend of RTS meets RPG with the inclusion of heroes in the armies. But blizzard being blizzard they killed and abandoned something beautiful. Truly the scum of game companies.

Great video, even though it's a very painful trip down memory lane. I feel like quite a few games in the C tier were of really solid quality. The fact that even among those games not a single one popped off is quite telling of how deep down the drain the multiplayer shooter genre is. Has there ever been a time where there was no room for innovation because no one wanted it? It's also interesting how you could go into any of these games' forums/subreddits and people will come up with the wildest theories of why the game failed, but this video really gives you a clear answer. It wasn't a specific design decision, engine problems, performance issues, microtransactions, etc. . Gamers simply don't want games like these anymore.

This is just brilliant. I love it! Now lets pray for DanD to be launched in EA so I can watch your stream again :).
Darwin project, ring of Elysium and spell break were so fun
Personal takes on dead games: -Dirty Bomb: locked the playstyles I liked to playing as mid chicks with uninspired voice lines but was ultimately hampered by bad performance. -Lawbreakers: played the beta to see what it was like, never felt the need to pick it up again. -Company of Heros 3: Never played it but even from the marketing I could tell that nobody on that team knew what they were doing anymore, now infested (much like 2) with wehraboos complaining that they cannot get games because nobody wants to play as the emaciated allies. -Outriders: could have been great, but overtime their stupid enemies became so bloated in their health pools that it became a prime example of 'becoming weaker as your character levels up' it took so long to kill the average hostile trash mob while unintentionally exploiting as Technomancer that after finishing the 'story' I went to try Pyromancer only to get stuck on a section because their 'kill to heal' system gets broken so easily by 1 miniboss that had 4x as much health as he needed that I wrote off Pyromancer & Outriders off together after they increased the post-story skill trials time requirements. -Titanfall 2: Fun game, but constantly felt like it was 'missing' something. -Nosgoth: this is what you get when a publisher cracks the whip and turns the Legacy of Kain setting into a awful session shooter. Dead On Arrival & deserving of it.
