My guy never wanted me to take him out. He took the lead and wanted to be the gentleman, the hero. It worked for us! I always did kind things for him, but the whole dating thing, planning the date, asking me out, picking me up… that was all him. He still likes to be my hero.

My guy is the same way and I love and admire that he takes the lead in planning our dates/outings/dinners/vacations and so on. No games or chasing. We are blessed to have found each other. Who has time for playing games at our age or ever??? Glad he has his act together. 1 year and counting….

Just do what YOU would like the man to do. If you would like a random, playful text in the middle of the day…send him one. If you want a random sticky note with something cute and say missed you…write him one. The men will appreciate it and most likely recipient too. If they don’t reciprocate..then..NEXT. They are NOT the one for you. Men tend to put in all of the romantic effort in the beginning. Ladies, we can do little things to show them we care too.

You have to be brave enough to voice your concerns, needs, desires. This also doesn’t stop once the relationship is fully committed. I’m still learning that. If it ends, I will be sad but if I don’t speak up then neither of us will have risked anything. If you don’t ask for something then you’ll never get anything and people appreciate being given the opportunity.

It's hard not to be broken in some way. My spouse passed away, for some reason everyone always wants to know how he died. Instead of what kind of person he was. It's hard to go through that type of pain. Divorce can be a different kind of pain, both are painful, both can be traumatic. It's hard to say for each person, I've been through several bad relationships. They are painful, but there are good reasons they don't work out. Sometimes we go through situations to learn more about ourselves.

I’ve met someone who’s broken - divorced and bad dating relationships 😮I’m surprised he’s the only man who wants me to chase or do things for him ! It’s weird !!! Never met someone like that ! I feel drained ! Putting effort it’s always me who calls text etc ! He told me other girls told him the same too…😢it’s painful for me !!! He’s open to my chase but it’s hurting me !

Broken people are "nice" users. They get support from their friends (flying monkeys) as they go thru one person after another. They are emotional vampires until they can heal themselves....which can be a very long time before they realize what the heck they are doing. I am under business contract to deal with one right now.....and am soooo excited to move on after the contract expires. It is unnerving to deal with this person in the middle of either limerance, lust or looking for validation. He is exhausting.....and I always have to be on guard. I got only 2 more weeks!!! YAY!!!!

I was so naïve. The guy I was with would fix things around my house and do nice things for me and to reciprocate I would make him his favorite lasagna or spaghetti sauce or I would offer to take him out to a hotel and pay for it or I would offer other things to pay the tip. He would always tell me no no don’t do that no or he wouldn’t eat what I made, or he would ignore what I offered… Like a weekend in Monterey?! It was really weird that way I felt obligated all the time. Just like he probably wanted me too

I felt elusiveness or passivity in a guy on a first date. I went on a 2nd date with him last weekend bc I was curious if it would feel any different. When he didn’t open the car door for me more than once I told him I was curious why that was. He said, oh I really don’t know about all that so I just never do it. I said, well it conveys to me that you’re just not all in on this date. Are you looking for casual friendship w benefits, something you don’t have anything invested in? He laughed at my question, said “wow!” and ended up driving off. The old me probably wouldn’t have asked.

I agree with Doug, u open our eyes to dateing to the pot wholes, i have never done this or even kissed on the first date its called prostituting yourselves; I think of dating just like you! If you want a man and can move, why not? I live in a big city with distinctive areas and feel it's highly unlikely I'll meet the kind of person who's right for me in my area. Right now, I don't have the physical health and energy to visit or move to a more likely area, but I hope some day I will - or live or spend time in other places altogether (cities or countries) if it would be a better fit and chance for me.
