@@rainbowtoyfunrandomess1982 you know there is an old character sheet of Emily and in her voice note mentioned black so I guess this is why many people assume that she black/black coded, and redesigned her to make her “ look black” (some don’t look very good) although her voice actor is Indian and that character sheet was an old concept of what they want Emily to be at first.

The current design are pretty westernized though, they don’t even look like the popular “biblically accurate” interpretation that is being taken at face value nowadays, I actually like how creative the the other designs are, specially Chainsaw, props to them for not overusing the eye motif.

​@@kinka9883 Sure! The current designs of Sera and Emily incorporate the original six-wing description of seraphim. Seraphim in American media I've come across like Uriel and Joshua in Supernatural or Lady Oriel from Wizard101 have 2 wings like lower-ranked heavenly beings. I was also happy to see ophanim in the courtroom, since that's an angelic species not many people really talk about. There's a lot more diversity in the upper echelon of Heaven than this Zoophobia lineup of two-winged or even no-winged sisters who lack the blues, purples, and golds I love in Hazbin Hotel. It's actually fun to go back and look at the ensemble designs. If you'll indulge me, I'd also like to briefly touch on their humanoid forms. I am very happy with the choice to give the angels diversity in skin tones, hair, and how they incorporate the eye motif (which I love in of itself; it's like Heaven is always watching 👀). Sera's big curls make me especially happy to see as a woc, because all the angel statues I saw growing up fit Eurocentric beauty standards with light, loosely-curled hair. I hope this offers some insight into my perspective of Hazbin Hotel! I am of the Abrahamic Faith, leaning Christian, but I'm definitely not a biblical scholar, so if there's anything you can clarify for me on the history of the humanoid two-winged angel I'm happy to learn! Thank you for reading!

Sera and Emily are part of a group called the Seven Seraphim Sisters, Sera is the oldest and Emily is the youngest.

Lol, how far up in your own arse do you have to be to pretend Hazbin was "ruined" because the creators didn't use your preferred character design? The show was more successful than anyone anticipated and the new designs served their purposes perfectly well. If you don't like it, produce your own animated show and see if it takes off.

I'm surprised the show didn't mention that Sera and Emily were sisters. It kinda makes the fact that season 1 was so short even more disappointing. Because to say that a lot of lore was left out is a understatement. I feel like we have to rely on Viv herself too much just to get simple information. I hope the series doesn't end before most of it gets shown.

I thought they did a good job implying the sibling dynamic in the Hell is Forever reprise specifically. Plus their designs match, so their sibling relationship seemed straightforward to me even without any supplemental material. I personally prefer the subtlety to what's often commonly done in other media - with brothers and sisters calling each other "brother" or "sister" even though no one really talks like that.

It also feels like that wasn't really necessary information in season one. Whether they're sisters or just happen to both be seraphim type angels with no family relation wasn't important for the plot. We didn't need to know, so the creators didn't waste time telling us.

With so many colorful characters, to learn more about them really makes them even more enjoyable to see. Though this does get explored to an extent, if only with some select ones like Angel Dust or Husker (just to name a few). I'd love to see the Von Eldritch family next season.

@@EggsBenedict-te4nj Yeah, 8 episodes is just too short to tell a story on this scale. It would have been so much easier for the team to balance everything if they could have made one long season with at least 16 episodes. It would have done wonders for the pacing if we could have a bit more time to bounce back and forth between the Heaven plot and the Vees plot, and maybe we could have been afforded just a little more time in heaven. Unfortunately, this kind of restriction is part of the tradeoff that comes with being picked up and turned into a "real" TV series. It gave them access to a lot of resources, but they don't have complete freedom over the format. Hopefully there will be more than just the second season in the future, because if that one is also 8 episodes long I can't imagine that we'll be able to wrap up the story by the end.

These older designs of the angels in Vivziepop's older projects are pretty cool especially that two or three of them transformed into the characters we know today like Striker, Velvette, and Cherri Bomb for example. Plus it would be cool to see Emily with a sword, but I love her better as a sweet and kind angel we know today.😮🤩😇🪽

Adina should be compared more with Lute. While aspects of Adina's design may have been given to Sera, they are nothing alike. Sera is much kinder and isn't proud of the genocide. She allowed it b/c she thinks she's protecting Heaven. Its Lute who has all the violence and prejudice against sinners Adina had.

all of Emily’s designs are sooo pretty and soft and sweet-just like her personality. I think her designs are well thought out and best represent her, just like all of the designs. However it made a lot more sense to refigure Cherry Bomb and the Striker -Angel, as they look so menacing that their demon forms would be so interesting.

I have a video idea! The black griffin songs are talking about the Hazbin Hotel and the characters before the show was made, I think! For example, heaven2hell is talking about Charlie and Alastor making the Hazbin Hotel for sinners to stay at!

I honestly love how she kinda just recycled old Ocs as that usual what happens to them. They aren't thrown away and forgotten but redesigned and reused that sometime they can be unrecognizable yet are still a core.

The new designs are definitely better. They read as angels and take inspiration from real biblical descriptions but you can still see some of Vivzie's style in the final designs
