Anxiety and Joy are pretty similar: Joy tries to take control of Riley in the first movie and Anxiety is taking control of her in the second movie. Joy thinks she is what’s best for Riley So does Anxiety

Yes, but I feel like anxiety is a more extreme version of Joy. She is far more controlling than her, like she literally bottles the other emotions up, in order to control Riley! She tries too hard to help Riley, that she even changes her entire personality, and makes a huge mess, if it wasn't for Joy in the end I don't even know what would have happened. But that's just my opinion 🤷

I’d have to agree, Joy was trying to prevent Riley from ever being sad and not knowing the importance all the emotions, whereas anxiety bottled up all of the original emotions and prevented the other new emotions from making any major contributions to her new (anxious?) sense of self. Notice the scene where Envy wanted to plant a memory into her sense of self development (idk what you call it) and Anxiety prevented her and any of the other emotions new and old interfere with her new sense of self building going as far to breaking the entire memory transporter when she saw sadness. Not to mention the horrible projections she was sending to Riley. Now don’t get me wrong Anxiety was just being Anxiety, just like Joy was being Joy and Anger, Anger. Anxiety throwing out her old sense of self and being a control freak was uncalled for, but I think this just shows she shouldn’t be in charge ‘cause she can’t control herself. (Also I’m not hating on her she is still my second favorite character and sorry for the long comment)

And despite her extreme energetic self she drinks a lot of caffeine drinks which they makes her even more anxious and energetic. In the movie she drank 2 coffees and 5 energy drinks at once. No wonder why she and Riley had a panic attack near the end of the movie.
