This actually gives me a bit of a deep thought. Anxiety is always next to joy because when we are anxious, we want joy as comfort. We do things that bring us joy to lower our stress and anxiety. She looks up to joy because joy brings her the most comfort. It's also neat to notice that anxiety may have been more attracted to Joy because she was basically the leader of the emotions. Shes the one who keeps everything in line, in order, and does whats best for riley. When we are anxious, we lose control of what our actions and body does. Thus "anxiety attacks". (Which is NOT a proven medical occurrence, but there are studies being done on it). Where our heart races, our skin sweats, our hands shake, and our thoughts RACE with all the worst possibilities. All involuntarily. I love how they didnt butcher the inside out franchise, but actually added onto it and gave us a fresh but COMPLETELY needed insight on teens getting older and becoming more self aware of themselves and how others view them

I've been thinking about it somewhat, but not much because I've been doing other things😅But THIS. I've been thinking similar things and anxiety in itself just wants to protect you. On extension, it wants you to be happy. When you're anxious, you often just want to be happy too, and thus Anxiety is often seen around Joy and being a fan of her because anxiety wants to be happy. Anxiety likes to plan and take charge, and Joy brings thar because she's seen as the "leader." Anxiety wants not just to be with Joy, but she also kindve wants to be her, possibly. She wants to be the one with the plans who makes Riley happy, even though she can't really do that on her own. I have also heard it took over 20 meetings for the anxiety attack scene, because they wanted to get it as accurate as possible. They kind've attached real-life experiences and feelings and such to the movie, and I think that's really a good thing to do. (I'm sorry if this sounded messy or bad, I'm not the best at translating my thoughts into words😅)

Also as a Hispanic I find it adorable how Anxiety "Forget" at the end

I mean, if we think too deeply into it, anxiety's existence is based on having a crush on joy. Anxiety prepares Riley for every worse outcome so that Riley doesn't choose that path and can only go towards choices that make her happy which means making Joy's job easier. That's what Anxiety thinks she is doing, she thinks by thinking of all the bad experiences, Joy won't have to and she will just have to focus on Riley's happiness. Anxiety does everything for Joy, but doesn't realize that her way of doing it makes Riley miserable.
