I drove 3 different cars over 39 years that had a manual transmission. Now i drive a 22 accord. No stick shift available.
Heh, I am a 59 Year Old man, and I have only owned, or used, a manual transmission only. I refer to the manual transmission a "Passive Anti-Theft Device". My current car is a 1999 Toyota Corolla, I bought it new, and I payed the dealer in CA$H, and got a {heck} of a discount!

I am ALSO 59 and have only driven manual trans cars and trucks since 1991. They are too fun to drive to ever drive an automatic again. My current car is a 2012 Ford Focus, and without the auto trans issues its been a fantastic car and a lot of fun to drive. I agree on the anti-theft aspect of it. Heck, most of them can't even spell "manual."
I guess there is no Tesla supercharging network in the African countries where these stolen vehicles end up.

I purposely bought a 20 year old Nissan Frontier pick up truck in an excellent condition that has a 5 speed manual transmission. @@migmigjohnson9351 "The infotainment", as in, the central screen, controls most of the cars essential systems; calling it just "infotainment" is like calling a Nasa Computer a Playstation. PIN or no PIN, if that screen is down you have a hard time in general - because in most cases if that screen is black the car is completely shut down. That usually involves massive force though, aka a rough accident of some sort. Long story short, I dare question your "knowledge" about how a car in general and a Tesla in particular really functions and when it does and doesn´t work. Bottom line: it´s a car. A car that operates differently in several aspects than most other cars, but the essence is the same: crippling bugs and or damage is not something Tesla invented.

The new way to steal a car is to put a radio receiver near the house and get the radio code to run the car. Venders are selling what they call Faraday boxes witch keep the radio waves from reaching thieves receivers.
Plus once they break into a Tesla, how do they start it?
I had an 84 Ford Escort that I could park anywhere, it was absolutely glued to the pavement. What thief would be caught dead driving an Escort? Thieves apparently feel the same way about electric cars and many overseas buyers see electric cars as what they are, a mistake. An over priced impractical nerdmoble. The low resale value of electric cars reveals their true value. Electric cars are disposable unrecyclable cars with hazardous waste batteries which will turn scrapyards into toxic waste dumps.

All modern cars come with a little chip in the key that prevents the car from being started without it being detected. The reason Hyundais and Kia’s were able to be stolen with a USB is because they cheaped out and skipped the chip. I wonder if Pinto or Gremlin will be on the least of least stolen cars
Most of the cars on your list are too expensive, I won’t buy them. I’m kinda surprised at the slight difference in some models that thieves are less interested in. I’ve had two cars stolen one was a corvair the other a Ford F-250 pickup truck. There was a car theft ring that stole just pickup trucks and they partially stripped it Both batteries were taken and a tuner they didn’t get the wheels and tires 8 lug nuts on each wheel, I’m guessing they were interrupted. Either way I got it back. The corvair never saw it again.
Unfortunately for Tesla, this "anti-theft" pro does not outweigh all the cons I have of renting one.

Just get CarLock no warranty issues. Catch the thief in your car.
Based on the recent collapse of EV sales across North America, nobody wants to steal an EV since they have terrible resale value here and absolutely no resale value in developing countries where there is no charging available.
I don't buy cars based on resale value, theft rates, insurance rates, etc. I buy based on is the vehicle suitable for my needs, do I like the design, features and is it affordable? Nothing else.

If you'd be financially smart you would take in consideration the reliability and the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) statistics. Because a car may be affordable, but if it is unreliable and costly to maintain, then you got a lemon. At least consider the resale value, that is a result of reliability, TCO etc.
