I think the ix defeats the purpose of the whole "dream garage." If you hate how it looks, then it's not one of your dream cars. It's a logical choice. But dream car garages have little to do with logic and everything to do with passion for the cars. So, in actuality, it's not his true dream daily. It's just a logical daily. He should choose again.

What's even worse to me: Somehow, they sell like hot cakes. In and around Amsterdam, they are EVERYWHERE. They are not bad cars, otherwise they would not sell so many of them but my God. If I would spend close to 100K on a vehicle, I would't want to drive that eyesore. Its so, so ugly and unsatisfying to look at. I don't get it, do people just not care about a decent design?

The newer EV options are mind boggling quick but i felt i needed the mechanical "noise" to make the experience more visceral and complete. Lets face it though, if you can afford these 4 cars and have a 4 car garage, the odds are good you can afford 8 or 10 cars with a garage to match so...lol

Always felt these lists become very unrealistic once you limit the number of cars you can have, not just the money. In real life if you have enough money you can always own more cars. One guy might spend a 1 million dollar budget on 1 supercar and 1 daily, while another guy might want to own at least 10 cheaper cars.

Would love another one of these with a budget of $100,000 - I think you’d get more unique choices

First, great vid guys. Keep up the good work. OK, here's my list: Daily - Ford Explorer ST (my son just got one and I really like it. Very practical, quick, AWD sport ute and it can tow) Sports - Alfa Spider 2000 heavily spiked with Alfaholics parts (actually building this now in my garage with a TS, not Nord, and spending a small fortune with Alfaholics, a great little company) Supercar - Ferrari 458 Speciale (14:1 compression, 9000 rpm NA, nuff said. And I will never be able to afford one.) Classic - Ferrari 312PB (no one said it couldn't be a track day car. Also, this car has the best sounding ICE ever made. Others may sound as good, none sounds better.) Cheers.

The R1S is a good one, I chose a Giulia Quadrifoglio as my daily, under 100K, fast and basically a Ferrari with 2 cylinders chopped off, plus you can get your family in there with enough space for a weekly shop

I find it really interesting how many of my friends opted to put up with a larger vehicle with the reasoning “I might need to move or haul stuff one day.” I’d just rent a U Haul for the 2 days I need that much utility and buy like an Audi RS6 Avant for the other 363 days.

@@kosiranze Ground clearance mainly. I live in a rural area, only the main roads are plowed reliably. Roads are also shit with a ton of potholes everywhere, and some areas aren't paved at all. They're either gravel, or just dirt and can just outright require off road capabilities.

I love how they set a 1.7 million limit and picked vehicles (mostly) they can actually afford. Although I have a good feeling that Thomas and James pay their production crew well…

Oh, that's a rad idea, I can do this! Daily: a basic FWD sedan of any brand, let's say Toyota Camry just to have something certain. I think sedans are the most boring type of car, and a big FWD one is like an epitome of dull. Sports: the new Mustang GT. My mind tells that it's a great sportscar and a great value, but my heart simply refuses to like something as straightforward and simplistic. Super: I know, hot take, but I think the whatever top spec McLaren is currently in production, I think it's called 765 or something, it used to be 720S, is TREMENDOUSLY UGLY! It's not ugly in a sense people dump šit on the new C8 or A90, which have lots of lines pointing towards seemingly nowhere, it's ugly in a sense that the design is just too simple, and it looks like a generic freakin GTA V car! I'm also not a big supercar lover, so having to have any supercar at all already makes my garage a Nightmare one, unless that supercar is a GTR or a C8 or some other select models. Classic: any pre-late-1990s Mercedes. Tremendously ugly and boring cars, they look like piles of cardboard boxes spray painted over, making a šitty mess. I don't care if they're reliable or how desirable they were back in good old days, they're super ugly, I don't want them. Mercedes is the best automaker in terms of design, but it only shined from W220 to R231.

That’s just not true for the new defenders. Especially the I6 Diesels just run. Don’t know where the rumour comes from that they’re not reliable. We’ve driven ours like 30k km in 8 months and there have been no issues at all

@@vincentrenevier Imagine saying that a brand new car with only 30k km (18.6k miles) is reliable because it hasn't had problems yet. If I bought a car that started having problems that early, I'd be furious. "Reliable" usually applies to manufacturers that survive 100k miles (160k km) consistently with just regular maintenance. Range Rovers ain't it, never have, and likely never will.

JLR products are reasonably reliable nowadays... just so long as the furthest off road they go, is up the owner's driveway. In Australia, we have a saying... If you want to go to the outback, take a Land Rover. If you want to get home again, take a LandCruiser. But to be fair, I have a V8 GXL LandCruiser ute (pickup for 'mericans) and although it'll go almost anywhere while towing a trailer and it's the most capable 4x4 I've ever driven (and I've driven a lot)... it's one hell of a compromised thing. Also, even though I got mine cheap(ish), it's a very expensive thing to have if you don't use it as a daily. And I don't use it as a daily. You only daily a 70 series because you have a job that no other vehicle can handle. And reliability wise, the Cruiser hasn't been perfect. It's required both turbos, a very expensive fuel pump, and the gearbox needed a rebuild under warranty. It had lived a pretty hard working life before me though and had 180,000ks on it.

Very similar options for me, except one of the fancy EV trucks for my daily since I do actually need to be able to put stuff in a bed on the regular.

Daily: G65 AMG 4x4 squared Sport: New Prelude Super: Aventador SVJ Classic: 2014 Acura TL - dont knock it until youve put some miles on one. It looks amazing after you body color match the silver trim. I had a 2010 that was totaled hitting a 400+lb black bear and i miss it to this day. The 13-14s had better transmissions apparently.

Daily: Audi S5. Easily the Best car. Actually somewhat affordable. Looks Great. Beats the rest. 💯

Respect to James for the OPM sweater. Not sure if he watches, or not but if he does, we just became best friends. Anyway, here is my garage: Daily - 2024 Kia Telluride SX Prestige X-Pro. Ticks all the boxes AND is reliable all for under $60k MSRP. Insane value. Sports Car - 911 Turbo Convertible (James is right, need at least 1 drop top) Supercar - Huracan Performante. Looks great. Sounds great. Incredible track car AND livable in the streets while driving to the track. Classic - 69 GTO The Judge with disc brakes. Sorry but im not keeping drum brakes for the sake of it.

Yeah having no offroader category but separate categories for sports and supercars is kinda silly lol. I just use my sports car slot for a car that can be tuned for track use or street driving and used the supercar slot on a classic supercar for the vibes. If there was a utility / offroad slot I would've added a new Ford Bronco 2 door stickshift with a 5.0 swap since there's a stupid high dollar limit I'm sure someone could fabricate that.

I find it concerning that Thomas said he picked the Defender because he knew the Alfa would break down all the time. Isn’t that like picking the IX because it’s not as ugly as a Pontiac Aztec?

Yup, he'd better fit a tow bar to the Porsche so it can tow the Alfa when the Defender is inevitably in the workshop. Much as I love the way JLR products look and feel - they are all without exception hot garbage when it comes to reliability, and thus I would never personally want to own one, ESPECIALLY as a daily.

Great Supercar and Classic options - but I would need more practicality. Daily; Ineos Grenadier OR Merc 4x4² Sportscar: 911 R Supercar: 918 Spyder Weissach Classic: 300 SL I know, two Porsches and no electric car. But the only electric car I could chose would be the Taycan. And I didn’t want 3 Porsches in my Garage. I love them but I would like more variability.

My dream Garage, daily would be a Tesla Model S Plaid, Classic is a 69 Road Runner, Sports Car is an SF90 and Dram Car is a KNIGHT XV (because if I had my dream Garage I would need the protection). Love the show. Keep on doing what you do! ❤❤

Daily- Rivian R1S. (I like the Defender Choice, but I think I'm less than 2 years from an electric daily...) Sports Car - Porsche 911 GT3. Just too good to not have. Supercar - Lamborghini Aventador. I wanted to say something more modern like the Revuelto or Huracan, but the Aventador just looks SO devious! It's got angles like a stealth bomber and I love it. Classic - Has to be a Jaguar E-type. Never driven one, but it's just a piece of artwork that I'd have to have!

I really did think about including the M5CS as my daily or my sports car. I also thought about the 765LT but I’ve been on a waitlist for the C8 Z06 for almost 3 years now and I’m so obsessed with getting it. And it’s really about the flat-plane(corrected) N/A V8 just like both of them going for the soul of the 458. Yeah the 765LT is the better car at 10-10ths then the C8 Z06 but the Z06 would be more fun way more of the time. And I owned a 2016 GT-R and it was the greatest car I have ever owned and I regret selling it. So I gotta get another. Lastly, I need a truck as a stupid American I could survive without a truck so my daily has to be one and I considered the TRX but if I have the other cars they will provide enough fun that the 2500HD would be the better choice. All that to say I do really like your list.
