I absolutely loved using these markers today! I think they really have changed the marker game forever. This is one of the biggest and best upgrades I've seen a marker brand make!
After more than 10 years of using Markers, I'm just absolutely amazed.
I do hope that you like them and enjoyed the video today? If you have any suggestions or questions, feel free to ask me in the comments and I'll do my best to answer what I can.
Have a great day, BYE

    Ohuhu started off like any other cheap alcohol marker, but when they released the brush nibs… damn did they change the game! They keep doing what the big brands are doing but for an incredibly affordable price, it’s ridiculous! Great vid as always, much love 💕

    It's hilarious. They're offering features that brands use to up their costs... yet these are the same price AND HAVE A DISCOUNT CODE !!!! Just think on that. Most companies use the same manufacturers too (I know of a couple shan't name), but they use their name/brand to up prices to consumers. Ohuhu are genuinely proving themselves the best for a consumer

    I wrote about this before in my article, but the thing I love about them and often point out is that they really listened to people about how to improve their markers. When they first came out, they weren't great but they took the critiques and advice, which allowed them to improve their formula so much, that I now own more of them than any other alcohol marker brand. The willingness to listen to their customers tell me that the brand really cares about producing the best product they can while still keeping it so affordable.

    Exactly. I touched on it slightly, I wasn't impressed at the beginning and was critical. But as times progressed, they have made all the correct moves FOR THE ARTIST, instead of remaining stubborn. They are awesome

    Thank you. Yes, there's always a slight bias for sponsors due to terms. But we were very clear with them that we will do this our way. As I am with most sponsors, they'll need to adjust to accommodate me. This was a big risk for me, with a reputation for alcohol markers, I have to be clear and honest. :)

    As an artist that was really late to the game on brush markers, I still primarily use the chisel nib for nearly everything. I learned to blend them easily and am excited to see an improvement that allows artists like me to continue to use them with ease. Learning brush nibs hasn't been easy and I don't feel I have the same color control as with the chisel or bullet nib.

    Let me start by saying I love Ohuhu for what they are doing. I'm even using their water-based markers and I'm enjoying them. But there is one thing I have experienced a few times now that I don't think anyone has mentioned: some of the alcohol markers, over time, have broken down completely to a different color than when I've swatched it. And in my water-based set, I have a grey (according to the color chart provided) that turns green when it is not in the sun for some time. Please be weary and pass this on. Thank you, @ADCArtAttack!

  • @elsuminati

    @elsuminati

    I have a similar experience with the alcohol brush markers! I've only ever had this happen with one colour though. Its a dark-ish purple, and has turned to bright pink. But the swatch card has been in direct sunlight, since it's on my wall with a window pointing at it, and I usually keep my shades open.

  • @rumpeltyltskyn

    @rumpeltyltskyn

    I’ve also experienced this with one specific alcohol marker! I believe it was ‘fruit pink’ from their skin tone set, and it changed after swatching to a pastel yellow. Funnily enough, I get pretty good use out of that color anyway, it’s unique!

    Alcohol markers are NOT ARCHIVAL they do weird fluctuations in color and colors are not permanent. You should definitely scan or photograph your artworks when using alcohol markers. Right after you finish!

  • @principleflow2847

    @principleflow2847

    Жыл бұрын

    @mjpete27 Thank you. But this is more of a concern of the markers themselves rather than the painting/art piece. I believe you are referring to the lightfastness of the pigment after it has been used. Although I did mention the water-based marker reacting to the light (which had a weird reaction of changing back and forth between the green that it appeared to be, to the grey that was represented according to the printed swatch/cap color, and back to the green. All due to the movement between strong light and shadows). But the other phenomenon that occurred, was that my alcohol-based marker's pigment changed after I hadn't used it for a while. It was closer to the actual color that it was charted as when I first used it. I pick up the color to use once again at a later time. But the color had changed drastically.

    Ohuhu are an absolute powerhouse! As an amateur who likes to dabble with multiple different media I’ve never been disappointed by any of their products. Especially with their oil paints. It’s very common to be told that there are no decent quality affordable oil paints for beginners or hobbyists. Ohuhu have completely flipped that on it’s head, and i happily recommend them all the time now!

    @@Snickerszn I've been using them exclusively for Drawlloween this year. In comparison to the two other brands I have (Windsor & Netwom and Copic) I find Ohuhu a tiny bit firmer but very workable. Value to quality of alcohol marker, Ohuhu is definitely my top choice. Now that they offer refills, it's a game changer! Plus, I can get my favorite combo of a fine tip and brush tip which I cannot with Copic. The only downside is the caps don't match the color precisely. However, they include swatch paper with marker numbers which no other company does that I'm aware of. Plus the cases are really nice too.

    Glass is inert in the human body. At this point his body has encased it in specialized tissue, a process called "foreign body response". As ADC mentioned, beside the occasional discomfort, there is nothing to be concerned about. I have lived with the remnant of a large wooden splinter in the top of my hand for decades.

    The Kaala markers may be refillable, but Ohuhu does not currently sell refills for any of their markers, so that fact doesn't mean as much as it _would_ if the refills themselves _were_ currently available. Also, personally, I think it would have been helpful for those no familiar with Ohuhu's other markers to show a side-by-side comparison of the chisel tip present in their other markers next to the Kaala chisel tip. For people that already own the other chisel tip-whether in the Oahu series or the Honolulu series-it's also difficult to really grasp how this new version might be better without that direct comparison.

    No they didn't bleed at all!! When I was watching this video back I noticed how strong those lines were. Hardly any breakage if at all.

    I'm wondering if you have tried switching the brush nip for the bullet or chisel from the older style if they would fit and be interchangable?

    I have used Ohuhu markers for several years. For the price they certainly can't be beat. There are a few critiques I have, but looking at the site after watching this they seem to have eliminated one of those. I found it frustrating that they had over 300 colors, but had the largest set of brush markers being 120. However they appear to have the full color range available now. The first continued critique is that I have found that they have a slight shine to them, which can make them a bit difficult to photograph. Second, you cannot buy individual markers or refill them, they do now seem have about a dozen colors of individual marker colors available for replacements but that's it. Not that helpful when there are over 300 colors. Even though these have the removable nibs, at this point it would be only to replace the nib sine they don't appear to have color refills. Yet once again, for the money they can't be beat.

    The Barrel alone i would think would be good for an artist like myself with carpal tunnel. Think you could tackle an entire peice with every marker you have or just ohuhu?

    I just bought a set of those that had a bunch of different greys. Red, green, blue, yellow, cool and neutral. I think there were 36 total and they cost me (in america) .85 cents apiece. I also have one of those cool cases, but it's the older style

    At first this brand had my interest, though I was hesitant to try it because it wasn’t as vibrant as I needed it to be. Now Ohuhu has my undivided attention. These markers look like nearly the perfect upgrade AND they have what looks like a wide range of vibrant colors in this new model. However, my only reservation is that there isn’t a brush nib variant. I almost exclusively use brush nibs now after going through so many bullet nibs, and I prefer them above all others. If Ohuhu came out with a brush nib variant of this marker, I would buy it in a heartbeat. I already really like how their chisel nib looks. If I could get a brush nib variant this marker would be absolute perfection. Fantastic review as always man, hope you’re doing alright, and can’t wait to see more.

    I finally broke down and bought some Ohuhus despite not needing more markers haha. I got the Landscape set because it seems like it has a nice range of colors. I don't mind chisel/broad nib at all. I like brush for hair and flowy lines but it's sometimes too flexible/springy for my taste. (or maybe I press too hard lol) So yes, I'm looking forward to getting them! (Also, I'd be interested to see you try Chartpak markers if you haven't. They are a different ink (and stink majorly and bleed so much ) but they are pretty fun. It's definitely a different experience to alcohol markers.)
