We've all likely seen these two glorious new Carrera references by now, but there are two hot questions remaining. Do you like either or both enough to pull the trigger? Because we have it on good authority that they're just about done. You can pick them both up here until they're gone. The second question is, which, in the end, is your favourite?
TAG Heuer celebrate their 160th anniversary with two limited edition chronographs that each celebrate the essence of the brand in their own way. The Carrera chronograph line has been a staple of the racing chronograph category, with drivers and automotive enthusiasts everywhere touting them on their wrists. These stainless steel chronographs present fans of the brand with two great options to choose from. Some may even opt to add both to their collections, with each being such solid entries into the collection that many will wish the TAG Heuer Carrera 160 Years Anniversary models were standard production.
They are both housed in 39mm cases, a nice compromise between modern and classic sizing, with sharp angular lugs that taper down around the wrist. While both pay direct homage to the brand’s heritage, utilising a case that is almost 1:1 with the Carrera 2447 in profile, the Silver edition maintains an aesthetic of the past while the Montreal limited edition looks to the future with bold splashes of colour - without forgetting where it came from.

The silver is my favorite. I can imagine 20-30 years from now it will hold a higher value and the beauty will be eternal.
Co-worker brought this at work and it was unbelievably beautiful.... I wasn't interested in Tag Heuer before (didn't even know how to spell it until writing this comment), But now i think wow.. this could be my dream watch. It's not bulky and too much going on in the design, Just as much as it need to be great and impress the gentle looking. I think it's one of the greatest design among all.
The silver dial it is beautiful and my favorite so far!
Have the silver dial variant...love it, perfect size, yes...not a thin watch, but not overly thick either. The rotor of the Heuer 02 is a bit loud for my liking but not a deal breaker...would only think of selling this watch, if TH once would release a handwound version...for me its the most attractive chronograph on the market right now, regardless of price.
Very cool ,classic and elgent timepieces . I have always love this brand and what it good bring back sometime from the past .
The 1st reissues were the best, 36mm and Manual wind, now very sort after.
Amazing pieces
I just tried them both at the Tag Heuer store at Gold Coast. Personally, I like the Montreal more. It has a very fun and unique retro vibe.
Heuer-branded reissues like the Monaco and Autavia are the only watches I’ve considered from this brand. These new Carreras look amazing, though they may have priced themselves out of the market.

As above, there's a pretty moderate premium over the Elegant and Chronosport range, probably to account for extra processes and the LE factor - Thanks for watching - Andrew

exactly, its trying to compete in rolex, omega, gs range.... it should do it with tudor, brietling, longines range....then only it will be a value proposition and personally i would like of buying a heuer 2.

These are super gorgeous pieces, I should know I own both. Perfect size and proportions along with that classic Carrera design that I adore so much. Materials and workmanship is exceptional as well .I love everything about these bad boys, but the H02 caliber is also special in spec department. The movement runs at 28.8k at 4HZ, Column wheel, vertical clutch, 80 Hrs power reserve on a single barrel, 33 jewels, designed to be accurate with both time and Chrono function running at once. Lastly 168 components instead of 278-300 components on average on other watches. In my option a lot of watch for the money. But if one rather buy the name first instead of the watch that could be a terrible mistake. Now for what I paid new from an AD I'm super happy.

Is the new 60th anniversary any better ?
I like both but prefer the montreal blue version. The white cream dial makes it look like a vintage watch but the case and lugs finishing makes it look modern. I think it's a very good combination. But that being said, AUD9.8k for a Tag Heuer is pretty steep so i am.not so sure if i would ever own it...

I own both, could not pass up the discount that my AD offered. Zero regrets especially on aged stressed leather straps.the 02 movements of only 168 components are highly advanced movements design to reduce wear and tear according to TH.
Silver and blue is my favourite!!😍😍😍
The silver will provide just enough balance to enjoy it for the rest of your life. Loud dials typically start to annoy you after a while

First! And I have to say, the Silver is my favourite edition. The Montreal is stunning in its own right though.

I own both and I gotta say I'm extremely satisfy with both, design, materials and finish is top notch, the H02 is amazingly accurate and fully in-house. Column wheel with a vertical clutch, 80 hrs power reserve on a single barrel is great, only 168 parts is amazing fir less wear and low maintenance cost down the road. Most chrono movements are over 200-300 parts.
CS3110 and CS3111 remains the best reinterpretation of the original.
Nice watch but price seems high compared to recent carrera with H02

There's maybe 1-2k premium at most, probably to account for extra dial finishings and the LE factor. Thanks for watching - Andrew
What a beauty
Finally! They are producing watches without the lousy "TAG" on the dials and movements.
Silver wins hands down!
Now I'm torn - the 160 Montreal or the Monaco Calibre 11?....grrrr......I may have to get both....Thanks for the angst guys....keep 'em coming...!!

lume shots would help
Have the real thing, 2 register. 35 mm. Saw the new TAG. Looks good, but big and misses a key thing : age.
Tag is trying to come back huh? They've had some great releases this year
Silver for me, but for what TAG are asking I’d pass. I wish they would bring back the CS series re-editions. Perhaps without the decimal track and a panda dial.
Mouvement maison calibre 02💪
It’s nuts, they release perfect watches as limited editions, but their mainstream catalogue completely lacks the same class! Think they need to sack their marketing dept . . . in my humble opinion 😁

its trying to compete in rolex, omega, gs range...i would prefer even el primero at this $$ .... it should do it with tudor, brietling, longines range....then only it will be a value proposition and personally i would like or think of buying a heuer 2....nice video coverage though...

Actually its not competing with rolex since their chrono costs 12k... it is competing with omega tough. This has as much history as the moon watch and the caliber is very good. Breitling actually puts their chronographs on a higher price point and for me tudor is a no match with heur.

If Tag can come up with a bracelet, the watches can sell.
Aren’t they both sold out for a while already?

Both still available on TAG’s online store. Maybe it depends on which country you are in?
If only it s 12.5 mm
8k USD a little steep , thats vtg Sub territory , transparent mod caseback kills the vtg appeal and no place for engravements, 5k to 6500 is all the money on one of these, early 90s 1964 36 mm re-edirion used can be had for half the money and is truest to the original, also 18k 1964 re-ed can be had for abt 6 to 7k, case thickness on these new models approx 14mm little chunky padded gator strap disguises it a bit, expected a premium perforated rally strap considering its a CARRERA (RACE) DUH (drivers watch). --Resale willprod. be abt 7k for the next 20 years or so, good reidual value but not a watch you will be able to turn a profit on at least not for abt 50 years. I give it and 8 outta 10 .
@user-do8ef4np7q

That was vintage rolex sub territory...
They should have made it in 36mm like the 1964 edition. They make this so big with such a long lug to lug length it lost its taste. I hate how brands like Heuer go back to do revival yet the proportion of the watch goes wrong.
Its just me.. or the lugs looks out of proportion for the watch?
@dannycph

Not just you, they seems to long and to square, doesnt fit the round case to my eye, really a shame.
@Timeandtidewatches
3 жыл бұрын
Very much in character with the original Carrera models, though more pronounced now as the case size has increased a good few mm. If they'd have changed the lug style, the purity of the design would have been compromised, but does create a pretty long lug to lug - Andrew
@mjinzarli

Yeah I tried it on a few months ago. The lugs were just too long for my wrist. Definitely wears bigger than 39mm
@scdevon

I wish the industry would migrate back to 36mm watches and under with smaller lugs. This is why I like vintage Swiss watches from the 1950s and 1960s.
This is hella sketch. The video didn't mention thickness and even the website of TAG Heuer doesn't mention it either.
How much is this wife Wanna know the price of the watch it's just our meaningful because they are about transforming our experiences allowing us to see more and do better with a new degree of real
Not really. The CS versions are the best.
How about you stop rotating that watch back and fourth it's getting annoying
Beauty dial Not pretty on the side It is thick and irrational. I can only accept only Carera calibre5.
