TRUE CRIME PLAYLIST: • True Crime Body Language
In this video, we're discussing the bizarre story of Alex Murdaugh and the Unthinkable crime he may have committed.
State of South Carolina v. Richard Alexander Murdaugh is an ongoing American criminal case in the fourteenth circuit of the South Carolina Circuit Court in which Murdaugh is accused of homicide of his wife and their 22-year-old son in June 2021. The trial began on January 25, 2023, with instructions from the judge and opening statements from the prosecution and defense.
The trial of Alex Murdaugh began January 25, 2023, with instructions from the judge and opening statements from the prosecution and defense. Murdaugh was accused of homicide of his wife and their 22-year-old son a year and a half earlier. Local media were calling the trial South Carolina's "trial of the century".
On June 7, 2021, Murdaugh called police from his cell phone at around 10pm, saying he had discovered the bodies of 22-year-old son Paul and 52-year-old wife Maggie near the dog kennels at the family's hunting lodge in Islandton, South Carolina. Both had been shot multiple times and with different weapons. Murdaugh reported that at the time of the killings (around 9pm it was later determined), he had been with his terminally ill father, Randolph III, and mother, who has dementia.

Not only did he tell law enforcement that he checked the bodies before calling 911, he told the woman on the 911 call that he had touch them. She said, "Don't touch the bodies" and he said, "I already did". I wish Waters had remembered that fact and confronted him about it.

This was a great analysis, guys. IMHO his total lack of concern for who might have committed the murders gives him away. Apart from that he is intent on obscuring, omitting, avoiding pretty much everything that he is presented with, all things that truthful people don’t do.

TOTALLY AGREE! Seemed like the Defense’s case was more about confusing the facts than uncovering them. I think they thought they could show “reasonable doubt” by doing that but what they didn’t count on was a jury of his PEERS who have watched that good ole boys network in action their whole lives decide “NOT THIS TIME”. Frankly that video exposing his FIRST LIE that he wasn’t at the kennels, was what likely made it a far easier decision for them. They got it right & they put a huge hole in a system that has been operating unopposed for far too long.

Good point. Same with the stealing millions from his firm, same with the drug use. It’s just the same with this murder. He’s going to make sure that they prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he did it. Only then, will he admit.
I'm listening to Alex not remembering either he called 911 first or went and checked and handled Maggie and Paul's bodies, I go back to our families worst tragedy. My little 4 year old brother was killed when crushed to a tree by a car, I saw it and at the time I was 8 years old, I'm 77 now and I still remember everything I did and everything my parents did, that was that was about 70 years ago and it still hurts! I can't wrap my mind around a 50+ year old man, Alex, not remembering about finding Maggie and Paul and either he went to them or dialed 911 first and that was only a couple of years ago.
"I don't think that's a lie." Straight out of the George Costanza playbook. lol
I’m always obsessed with what’s missing, like Chase talked about. I watch tons of trials and the things not said, the actions not taken, the emotions not shown, and the relationships not felt are telling. His biggest mistake for me was his missing action of not looking for the killer. He called friends to come immediately to the crime scene! What?! There’s supposed to be a shooter there. Why didn’t he worry they were watching from the forest? Because HE was the shooter.

Reallyyyyy uncomfortable with the single panelist view. It's so nice to see the body language of everyone simultaneously and see you all communicating and connecting with each other. The single view 100% takes away for me.

Watching you on the screen individually doesn't work nearly as well imo compared to watching the 4 way interaction between each of you. Now, it just lacks something and the 4 way split screen was so unique, original and huge drawcard.. I'm not explaining this well... Anybody else know what I'm saying??....

We all like to watch the 4 of them together, because it implies that we're all here together in the subject. Separately, it's just some guy telling us about how he feels.

Agreed 👍
Great show. Please go back to split screen. I like seeing everyone like having a conversation together. Thank you for the work on the Murdaugh testimony.

I agree i like the split screen as well
I like the other format with everyone on the screen. The interaction with each other is a big part of this that makes it engaging.
I liked seeing the other guy's expressions too! you changed your format
It's so strange to say basically "I'm going to give answers that fit my narrative. Every time I'm caught lying I'll say I knew there was a chance I'd get caught lying so it doesn't count as a lie. There were obviously more sources of information available than he counted on. He thought cell phone activity would support his story
Murdaugh: “IF I took a nap.” He can’t even commit to taking a nap !!🤥

He has done that with alot of things too
Rather than changing the screen, I think you should insert the mini clips again. People like to see the expressions while you’re explaining them.
I watched a single video a few months ago about body language during interrogations. When I watched Alex on the witness stand, I was like, "He's saying what someone else would do in that situation, not what he did!" I really want you guys to apply the same scrutiny to his brother, that man does the exact same thing.
He says that he went to see his mother because she has anxiety. What is not normal, is that he went to visit late in evening when he knows she must be sleeping with the medication she is taking. Also, he asked Maggie to drive 1.5 hours to go see his dad. Don't you think that the priority would be to see your dad when you know that she is sleeping and that she is not on the verge of dying? 😮

And we all know how sundowners makes people with dementia act in the evening.
The 4 way split screen is much better to watch guys, we like to watch you guys interacting whilst listening. Please bring it back 🤗

I second this!
Bring back the 4 panels: I need to see others' reactions to some things that are being said.

Agreed!!
Alex was never sworn in when he received his badge. He also had his grandfather's. What's chilling is watching Alex and his father 'Handsome' Randolph, prowling the hospital corridors searching for the boat crash victims.
'When I got up from a nap, "IF" I took a nap..." IF????

Yes , IF. I do not understand why everyone freaks out about what he can't perfectly remember? He walked outside to his family dead. Innocent until proven guilty
Bring all 4 faces on the screen back! 😢
I don't know other people, but I prefer to see you all guys at the same time in the frame view.
The grief during his tesimony was REAL (hence the lines) just NOT due to the loss of Paul and Maggie. It's been mentioned several times about how he didn't show grief lines/muscle when interviewed immediately after the murders but does now. I think this is because he didn't have grief at first. That night he thought he knew better than anyone how to handle it all and the people he needed to influence so that this day in court would NEVER happen... and he almost succeeded. NOW that he finds himself in court, he has true grief... over HIS losses... not over the people that died. The one place he's always been successful is in court... and often in that particular building. He's lost his reputation, law firm, money, freedom... but most of all, his own sense of success/power/superiority. To a man like Alec Murdaugh that hits him much harder. THAT is what he is grieving and why those wrinkles have appeared.
“You dang right it was important” Alex about his convo with his housekeeper when SLED first accused him ….. “ I don’t know what I was doing or what I said” when talking about the last moments before his family was shot to death in cold blood. Unreal
