i mean .. i kinda get it. usually play games more for gameplay then for plot. games with simple plots usually lend themselves for better grump interaction. i wanna see more of them playing this game. but since they're most likely never play thru the whole campaign, and itll take at least another 2 hours before they stumble across an alien, maybe they should play the challenges instead. no plot, can be done in 30 mins, and they get alien action from minute 1

@@laboon344 lol people speculating as to if they’re gonna finish this game or not, meanwhile i’m still waiting on them to deliver on completing Luigi’s Mansion 3 from Ghoul Grumps last year. and generally speaking the only playthroughs the Grumps ever actually complete are Sonic, Zelda and Mario titles. i mean if that isn’t saying something about how long this series will last then i’m not sure what to say lol. EDIT: i know they’ve completed other playthroughs and have them in their catalogue, but i think there’s a real pattern in their completion of Sonic, Mario and Zelda games compared to basically everything else they play

The first movie was originally a "twist ending" movie in the sense that Sigourney Weaver was not a very well known actress compared to the other people in the film. The original marketing for the film and cover art avoided revealing who the main character was, so the first people to watch the movie in theaters in 1979 experienced the movie not knowing who would survive at the end. But nobody viewing the movie afterward can have the same experience as that first audience because now Sigourney Weaver is a major star, so it's much more obvious who's the main character of the movie. Maybe someday when nobody knows who Weaver is anymore, they can experience the movie the way it was originally intended.

Ryan I agree. This game really requires a lot and takes a lot out of you. I know. I played this game a year after it came out and I STILL haven't beaten it. It is a FREAKING hard game. There is no way Arin will make it through this game. It is too stressful and complicated. If it turns out I'm wrong I will update this post. Actually I wish he would take these kinds of games more seriously, or rather I wish he'd pay more attention in games like this. Some games you can just whizz through without much of a second thought, which is fine. However with games like this, they require your full attention.

I love the grumps and have done for years now... but i wish Arin would play this game in full and in the correct manner lol. 13:47 I love the sound design during the space scenes. You can only hear the radio, and sounds going through the suit itself, which is really neat!

*plot is being explained* Arin : *beatboxes* Also Arin : So who am I ?....

I get that this is Arin's first time playing this. Him needing a walkthrough this soon is still not a good sign.

I feel like the only way to continue this is to have Dan take the helm and play it solo or with someone who can at the very least feign interest. Otherwise get ready for two or three more episodes of Arin speedrunning through it before they shelf this series completely.

Yes, that is absolutely Sigourney Weaver. If nothing else, the fact that the devs collected the entire crew of the Nostromo (minus Ian Holm) for audio collectibles and the DLC is awesome.

Honestly the game isn’t hard if you pay attention. The NPC’s have pretty bad AI, so it’s easy to avoid them.

This is interesting. Usually Arin and Dan feed off of each others’ disinterest in the game to make all the people who are heartbroken that their favorite KZreadrs aren’t even giving their childhood a chance look like assholes. But now Dan is genuinely interested in the plot and Arin doesn’t give a shit like normal. I wonder who will win...

I think Arin has said he doesn’t like heavy dialogue/story based games so I don’t know how this will turn out. I’m sure it’s more frustrating to watch for people who have played the game lol Edit: I also don’t really care how they play games, I watch because they’re entertaining and I love them!

This has the potential to be teeth-grindingly hard to watch Arin "Barely Looks at the Screen" Hanson play through, but as long as Dan keeps him on track with a walkthrough, I can see this being an amazing series.

One could hope Dan's love for the series could push it in that direction. If not then double sad

It’s a little frustrating when Arin can’t pick up when Dan is invested in what is happening so Arin keeps forcing jokes and usually a beatbox movement

Oh my god, I don't know why I thought Dan's the on who will be playing when I saw this on my sub feed. I got my hopes up... 20 minutes into the game and Arin can't even open a damn door. This ain't gonna last.

"What's the 3rd one?" ".....................Alien 3"

5 bucks says they drop this without even seeing the Alien for the first time

How to tell Arin isnt fully paying attention: The dude actively said they found the last message log of Ripleys ship and said it was from her mom AND dan said Ripley is her mom right after that......and yet at 4:21 Arin still wonders if Ripley is her daughters mom Also man i wish they would put subtitles on BEFORE starting the game especally cause they know they r gonna talk over the game so it would help them know whats going on better

Arin has specifically ranted about his annoyance with the combination of voice acting and subtitles in video games. I don’t agree with his logic, but I don’t think he’ll ever voluntarily turn those subtitles on

I was waiting for Arin to notice that he was running back and forth over body-bags at the end there, but no. That's not how Arin plays video games.

"I was hoping to see the alien in episode 1..." Meanwhile they didn't even make it through the introductions in 2 episodes of Danganronpa.

Pretty sure it's because Danganronpa is a visual novel, so they literally can't skip over stuff and need to read it out loud for us, and then add in their commentary. I'm surprised they didn't meet the Alien, though, with how Arin likes to rush through things... probably how the game was programmed xD

I hope that you play all the way through, not just for your fans but for Dan. It would be fun to see you play and Dan's insight into the lore of Aliens.

It took arin far too long to realize the utility screen on the computer was a button. They actaully had to look it up lmao

The scariest part was figuring out where that echo was coming from

I'd honestly love this as a solo playthrough for Danny. Not only does it have the creepy atmosphere; but Dan's got so much genuine love for the franchise.

I can't tell you guys how greatful I am for your consistent uploads during the bsbr tour, isolation has hit me hard and I love the half an hour breaks where I feel like I'm hanging out with two old friends. Thank you.

My love for Dan grows more every time he nerds out with movie trivia.

I feel like the grumps would fit perfectly doing a mst3k type show

I really hope Dan’s investment and love of Aliens means they see this through to the end. It’s a slow burn but once the cat-and-mouse starts I reeeeeeally want to see how they react.

I love how arin just casually walks over body bags and doesn't even realize it at 33:18 also I really hope they go all the way on this series, even if they have to use the walkthrough

I would absolutely watch the HECK out of a full series of this! I hope it keeps going, and I love Arin for making the Ripley’s Believe it or Not joke b/c I immediately think of that all the time too. Amazing. PLEEEEASE continue!

This is actually an excellent game. An issue I've got is that so much media has an underlying political message. Now-- sometimes that's okay. I just don't like it when it's hamhanded and clashes with the rest of the game Not so with this game. It is EXACTLY what it's supposed to be, spine-chilling, heart-pounding horror. I hated and loved every second of it.

Arin just walked back and fourth over the bodybags scatterred all over the floor. Not noticing. Love you Arin

Him running everywhere is giving me anxiety. If he keeps it up he will die.. a lot. I love this game but i'm not sure it's suited for grumps. Sound and patience is too important.

Based on how Arin is just running around everywhere haphazardly, he's gonna get killed so many times... XD I'm also a little concerned because at the end it sounds like he only wants to play until the Alien appears and move on to something else. I really hope he plays through the whole game because it's a none stop trill ride of scares.

I spent probably 95% of this playthrough crouched as to not alert the Alien. Danny should've stressed to Arin about the adaptive AI this game implements so that he's actually thinking about it... it would make for a proper playthrough.

I love whenever we get updates on Dan watching Disney movies, I'm glad he liked Lilo and Stitch. I'd like to know what he thought of Brother Bear

I remember loving Home on the Range when I was a kid, but I literally haven’t watched it since then. I think I just liked the talking cows?
