Yeah, the last time I heard about the backrooms, it was a niche idea with just the yellow wallpaper and infinite space. No monsters or extra floors. i believe Liminal spaces are spaces that, like arin said are inherently transitional, but specifically bereft of the typical amounts of people, most usually become liminal at night like truck stops, airports, even hospitals (mostly the hallways). The backrooms are essentially an apex concept due to the office-like aesthetic making it seem like things should be clustered with cubicals, furniture and objects and signs of people but since there are none it messes with the expectations and pattern recognition of our minds and it sets us on edge. ^^
@Nowolf

@@bfitz5610 It was literally both actual definitions, just worded poorly. Look it up. @@bfitz5610 He knew what it was, and he said what it was. He didn't have a speech prepared in case Dan asked. Sometimes things are difficult to describe on the spot, but he was still right. Like, what's your problem here? That the description was vague? Maybe that's because Arin is a human and not a walking Wikipedia entry and because he also wants to get the video started and not get bogged down with a lengthy definition when he could just give a brief description and go about his business like any normal human being would do.

@@coyoteclockworkstudios3140 that's probably because liminal spaces are meant to be transitional. you aren't meant to inhabit the space or linger in the space, so the uninviting aura is pretty fitting.

Just to let you guys know that limital spaces are basically the bridge to point a to b. So when your in school or in the mall, you usually only think about getting to point b, but not the hallways or the little details of how you get there🤙 It's a transitional space between two main points, but what makes them frightening is when the space is taken out of context. A bustling school hallway at lunchtime isn't really scary, but when the school hallway is empty, in the middle of the night and taken out of context, it suddenly becomes nerve wracking and you pay more attention to your surroundings and start to see the limital spaces that's between point a and b. The backrooms I basically when you noclipped outta reality and it can happen to anyone at anytime. Usually this will be the first level that your forced to try and survive, but there's an endless amount of levels that the poor souls noclipped into. The frontrooms is normal reality(Earth) The midrooms and sub rooms and pocket dimensions of different backrooms The backrooms is the limital spaces of purgatory, your not dead but you can still be killed by the entities of the backrooms💀 Sorry for the rambling Arin and Dan😭 This concept is just really amazing! It's very reminiscent of LSD Dream imular and this will make an amazing movie/game ideas😎🤙

Them saying “this must be what first person Pac-Man feels like” makes me want to see them play Dark Deception!! Spooky mazes, great jumpscares, beautiful Bearce?? They definitely need to play it!
Love that the guys are playing this, I’m super into liminal spaces and the backrooms so its great to see them exploring it!
14:56 Arin: "I just hear the sounds of crunchin' and munchin" me eating popcorn in bed watching this: OvO"
Around the 27:00 mark, another perfect moment of Arin's superhuman comedic timing 😂

When Dan started yelling “get to the table” over and over again, it sounded like that parody of Chop Suey “Table Table Table”
17:47 Arin says his parents are awesome, but these improv'd trauma songs are so specific, it makes you wonder.
"Pacman's a closet horror game" *Dark Deception has entered the chat*
I love that the pleasant music continues through their horrified screams.
I love how there was nice calm music and then a jump scare happens. best thing ever.
I've said it once and I'll say it a million times.. Dan and Arins comedic timing are impeccable and also that jumpscare made me scare my poor sleeping cat xD

same feels like it turned into scp 2.0 and I like scps but backrooms was way different and focused on liminal spaces and emptyness and now it's so riddled with monsters and whatever that it completely lost its original point (btw if youre looking for a backrooms game thats more in the spirit of the original backrooms "the complex: found footage" is pretty good as far as Ive seen and free)

@@frankie9373 my buddy asked "What's the Backrooms?" And I was like "Its SCP but if the memes and preteens got at it right from the outset"
I like how the thumbnail for the video is just Arin ripping ass while Danny, who is trapped in Arin's pungent embrace, weeps openly because of what his life has become.
that first jumpscare got me so bad that i screamed out loud and scared my cat i am not easily startled by horror games so this means a lot i think
I love these kinds of videos man!
I guess I get why people find liminal stuff scary, but man it's so comforting to me. I could spend a lifetime exploring these places perfectly happy

From what i remember from my brief time exploring the "lore" of the backrooms, you'd be more likely to escape in that case, cause you reach each new level by accepting where you are, and you can only finally escape by accepting the backrooms as your home

I'd never heard of this game before and let me tell you I almost fell off my couch and dumped all my fish sticks the first time that thing jumped out...
Watched someone else play this game only 4 months after Arin and Dan did, kinda crazy how much they added to the game in that time.
Yay! Danny and Arnold’s worst nightmare 🥳☺️
