Hello! Chicken owner here chiming in: "Chicken" refers to the species. "Hen" is an adult female chicken, "pullet" is a young female chicken, "rooster" is an adult male chicken, and "cockerel" is a young male chicken. The chicken in this game is modelled after a hen (no leg spurs, smaller comb/wattles, and short hackle, saddle, and tail feathers) but it also crows like a rooster. Sometimes dominant hens in all-female flocks will crow, but it's also not uncommon for chickens to be intersex. It's also possible in certain conditions for female chickens to go through "sex reversal" and develop the traits of roosters (like leg spurs, big combs/wattles, longer feathers, crowing) but the sex reversal doesn't happen the other way around with male chickens becoming female. As far as plumage color: Typically chickens of the same breed will have the same coloration between males and females. There are a couple breeds with dimorphic colors, called "sex link" breeds, because their colors are determined by sex.

Ever since I can remember, I have always had an extremely severe phobia of birds (especially chickens and roosters). For my whole life I’ve had a recurring nightmare that, I swear on my life, is EXACTLY like this game: a chicken just walking around waiting to find and attack me. Thank you, Dylan Bassett, for bringing my traumatizing recurring nightmare into existence.

This episode was so funny to just listen to. You can really animate the entire thing. I didn't think the chicken would be so big

This was hilarious and nightmare fuel😂 ~~As the wife of a chicken farmer I feel obligated to let y'all know that hens and roosters are both chickens. A rooster doesn't necessarily have more colourful plumage, it depends on the breed. But a rooster will have a larger and redder crown (red on the top) and larger and redder wattles (dangly bits under the beak) The chicken in this game is a hen, however it has a rooster crow for some reason 😂

Chicken Survival is my fav genre of horror game.

This reminds me of whenever I visit my mom, and her partner has his rooster roaming the yard, he always circles me and pecks my legs so I make it a point to just run away from him. Cute guy, but damn does his beak peck hard.

If I had a nickel for every time the game grumps played a silly horror game related to chicken, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it sure is weird that it's happened twice now

Escape the Bawkrooms. The "Would you rather fight 100 small version of this or 1 large version of that" is an easy quandary: with a weapon, the large version; unarmed, the smaller century, since you pick up two of them and hit the others using them, just like when battling hordes of children.
