The only thing I disagree with is his view on Jeremy Hand and Privateer having side jobs ….. no bro that’s their main job. This privateer thing is a side gig that they pray they make a dollar off

I agree with what you're saying. But its no different than anyone who's heavy into the amateur scene. We spend 10's of thousands of dollars a year to go all over our region every weekend to go race or practice, all week working on bikes replacing parts, cleaning, servicing trailer and motor home or whatever, investing in gear, parking and entry fees, food, ice, drinks. Just to go back to our jobs to work hard to have enough money come Friday when its time to go racing for the weekend. To me a privateer's life is no different than any serious amateur family. Not saying that you said it was, Im just saying thats kind of how I see it.

DC could be making millions more doing spin for politicians and corporate America if he didn't love bikes so much. There was a cold war between supercross and motocross? Nothing had happened in the industry for a long time? Give me a break. SMX was a successful attempt to steal hype from World Supercross. You were just too caught up in operations to ideate any changes until there was an existential threat. This is the only Gypsy podcast that I've found every clip so far hard to trust. But it does generate comments, and if Jase were confrontational he wouldn't get folks like DC. I appreciate the peek behind the curtain, even if DC set up another stage behind it beforehand.

Totally agree. 10 OEMs, half of which are owned but Pierer. Adding races to American racers schedules. The disparity between MXGP and the SMX is large.

Best thing ever was to add races to their already full schedule. Classic. I’m surprised racers haven’t unionized like nearly every other pro sport, not for contract negotiations but for scheduling more so.

They are counting them all as a whole series, deegin and jett have had weird plate backgrounds since the start of supercross. And somehow we are on round 20 something in outdoor motocross. If you're going to count it all together it should be one title for the year

These guys should be capitalizing on there popularity. Every rider should have a social media account. The riders yes they race alot but lets face it these guys are all in there late teens to late 20s very few go past there 30s. There should be more races. They usually race at top level for 10 years they have alot of time left in there life to recover. Races makes money so have more races

They don't want more races, most riders say there are already to many, they only get a few weeks off per year. Imo I'd like to see more shorter series. Like say 2 six race outrmdoor national series. Say a spring and a fall series

To dilute the historic and respected AMA motocross and Supercross championships with the "SMX" gimmick is a terrible idea. It confuses any casual fans that might start watching and puts an asterisk on Jett's "perfect" MX season as there were only 11 rounds.

Do you have any idea what the overhead is to host a Supercross race or a motocross race. I want you to tell me right now how much it cost to rent Anaheim Angels Stadium for one week which is how long they have it to build the track, host the race, then tear it all down. Give me the exact number it cost to rent that stadium or any stadium for that matter??

@@VacidZombies so what do you think the riders should be paid? Because with my experience, no amount will ever be enough. You make every rider on the gate a millionaire, and in 3 years they will say we want more. So at what point does it cross a line to where no promoter finds this "worth it" anymore and they dip out and the sport dies on a mainstream level. I promise if that happens you personally aren't going to step up and buy SMX and bring it back to life, neither is anyone in these comments. Unfortunately yes these riders deserve a lot, I personally think Motocross riders are the most talented athletes on the planet in motorsports or ball related sports, and especially the toughest. But at the end of the day they get to ride a dirtbike which is suppose to be fun, not necessarily "work", yes I understand that's how they make a living. The real "work" goes on behind the scenes to make all this become what you see on your tv. Go try to build a turn track in your back yard tell me how long it ends up taking you, the answer is way longer than you thought. So just imagine what it takes to build these tracks and tear them down and clean them up to where a spec of dirt isn't left behind. I bet you would be shocked at the amount they pay to the track building company for a 17 round supercross season I bet its in the $10,000,000+ dollar range. They save that dirt from each supercross track thats why the dirt is the same at all these tracks each year, that dirt is stored somewhere, I bet the "storage fee" for that amount of dirt annually is in the millions. We haven't even begun to talk about what it cost to have medical staff, security, stadium rentals, I personally operate productions much smaller than a supercross race and to pay all the behind the scenes people, camera crews, sound crews it cost a fortune for a two day event. We still have not even mentions the cost of logistics to get all these people to each race and put them in a hotel for a week. I have not even begun to crack the surface of some of the costs to host a season of supercross and motocross.
