For me the "your head in your hands as you color me blue" is alligned with the "man-child" she is referring to. Men often tend to get super emotional when you accuse them of doing something wrong that they actually did, it's a sign of immaturity. Every time I hear that line I think of that type of man who always says "you don't understand what I'm going through" and starts to break down without realising how much damage they're causing to the people around them. He's the one with the head in his hands as if he's crying or feeling desperate, but she's the one feeling down because she's stuck in that dynamic. I think this song shows how much Lana evolved as a woman, in songs like Ultraviolence, Shades of cool, Black beauty, we see her more fragile in these types of relationships, she still has some idea that she needs and tries to save these men, but now she recognized she can't change them, they're the problem.

This is one of my favorite songs by Lana, i feel this is how she conveys her anger and i think the blue in this case is about sadness, he's just a man and that's what he does, hands on his head it could mean he knows what he's doing when he makes you sad. Ok I know I already sent suggestions yesterday, but I can't not send "Dealer", Lana describes it as a song where she screams because she's angry, but the lyrics are very cryptic so it would be interesting to analyze ;)

the part where she says "your head in your hands as you colour me blue" gives me the vibes of like when you let someone know how they've hurt you and they just start being self loathing and be all like "oh no I didn't know I'm sorry its been hard for me blah blah blah" and make it about themselves again somehow. Like you're feeling bad but even that is making me blue/sad cus u never really understand because you only see one side, and its exhausting. also "you talk to the walls when the party gets bored of you" makes me cackle everytime. love you, I'm so glad you did this one!!

When you said “I think she’s dated subpar people” it made me think of how many times Lana has been cheated on (that we know of, there could be more) specially the last one who was literally secretly engaged with another woman while Lana wrote beautiful songs for him ( I believe “Let me love you like a woman” is about him). It just makes sad and angry for her.

This beautiful empowerment anthem/lament is one of my very favorites. Not too dark but barbed through and through (favorite line "...You act like a kid even though stand six foot two..." Yep. "...Your poetry's bad and you blame the news..." is a close second😊). Lana might also be referencing Joni Mitchell's album "Blue" (Joni lived in Laurel Canyon in the 60s and Lana covers Joni's song "For Free" with Weyes Blood and Zella Day to close out Chemtrails Over The Country Club). Saying that Lana has dated some subpar guys is a... slight understatement.🙂 Lana herself has said most of them should be in prison... It looks like summer in New York is agreeing with you ( that shirt! If you have one with cherry blossoms, there's an upcoming song for that...). Audio update: The balance between your voice and the music is sounding really good back there at home. Congratulations! Thank you for another wonderful reaction, Mere🙏

hello, I'm a brazilian fan, but that doesn't matter. I think not only me, but all lana fans would like to see you review lana's albums in the order they were released, you will understand much more about what she says and how she has matured over the years. Lana is a brilliant singer, always has been, but it's great to see the way she matures and changes her ideas about life. she once said that she tells her story through her songs. An idea, I really wanted to see you doing this, it would be a good way to better understand Lana. it would be good for you to see a video talking about Lana's story, the problems she had with alcohol in her teens, the problems with her mother, the beginning of her career, and even the discarded songs, it tells a lot about the ideas she had in her head when she was young
