Tasmanian Tiger would be awesome. Fitting for the game name too if you’ve ever seen the movie “The Hunter” with Willem Dafoe. Although I probably couldn’t bring myself to kill it lol.

@@TheHavocBrewer Big time monster hunter fan myself, and if you enjoy the hunter you would LOVE monster hunter! It's definitely a bit different, but the core element of tracking the creature and doing battle with it remains the same. I highly encourage you to try it! Monster Hunter World/Iceborne is only like 10-20$ on steam right now for the winter sale

Monster Hunter & Witcher series would be a good star.

It's on sale so often it actually entered the top 10 most downloaded games in my country... it's about 6 bucks now, I think I'll try it out.

I recently started hunting simulator 2 and I'm enjoying it a lot, now saw this one on sale for 21€, does the master hunter edition include all dlcs?

Hey mate! Great video! Do you know anything that would let me freeze the game or use a freecam for screenshots? cinematics. I would love to create some artwork.

I've been trying to play this for quite literally months, sadly despite shooting a lung shot on multiple fallow and roe deer and them just not drop, I appreciate you're opinion on this game but could you give me some tracking and shooting tips? I know I've been getting lung shots but if they don't drop with a lung shot I need some advice on what to aim at

I've found bows to be a bit buggy when shooting them from bushes/tree cover. It seems to just eat the arrow sometimes, even 10-20m shots on the broad side of a mid,large animal does nothing 0 way to miss that. So i try to avoid shooting in them while bow hunting as much as possible, they are however fine for guns for some reason. Though that being that it's been 2 months, you probably figured everything out already.

I see everything your saying. I love this game so much. Being on console you don’t need to purchase atv’s or tents and tripods they come with the base game. Idk why that’s different on pc. One thing I really agree with you on is the multiplayer being ugly. Yes there’s a lot of positives about multiplayer but I feel there is a lot of problems with it. Overall great video love ya gruntly!

Biggest issue in the game are how anemic all the firearms are.

It's a great game but the problem is they need to find something to keep the game fresh like a limited time animal every couple weeks

Give me rotating animals per week per map. Eg Week 1 Emus for EC, Week 2 Musk Ox for Yukon, Week 3 Leopards for Vurhonga, etc. if thats too complicated, then just retroactively add animals to maps more frequently. I think that’s what would make the game far more interesting and engaging over time Make story missions more worthwhile, have each one end with a unique/rare animal hunt like a guaranteed albino or diamond. I know a lot of KZreadrs that haven’t touched the missions

@@bertaboy9078 yeah that sounds like a great idea and it would be amazing to say you had a limited time diamond leopard etc. yeah story missions should all be like medved that's a good idea

I know this vid is a few months old but as someone who loves this game, as an Xbox player I never knew the quad and the tents were dlc because they are in the base game on here, that's kinda wild honestly

The game is fun but it looks fuzzy/blurry and lags badly if i get close to an animal on an original xbox one

@@Gruntly Well, I have a few diamonds but the fav is my first, a big boy Whitetail. I dont do grinds, so... dont have many diamonds.

Don't forget to say some thing about all the glitches In this game where you can lose everything In the lodges among other glitches like right now you can't even use a bow they shoot four or five feet low, can't even use your first sight pins. EW does not do repairs like it should.......

Just bought it yesterday, can't wait to play this on Xbox

I enjoyed watching this. I have almost 300 hours in this game. Would have more but thats because of one of my 2 main gripes i have with the game. One is i notice the game is almost constantly out of sync with the steam cloud. I have to resync to it almost after every time i play. The other thing and perhaps this is just a problem i have personally but ive got something somewhere inbetween a high end and medium end pc. Its not the best thing on the planet but not the worst in terms of hardware and i have to play this on mostly medium settings with some even on low and capped framerates or else my cpu will get too hot. even then i catch my cpu touching 88 or 89 degrees C randomly while playing. And i dont over clock anything either. I wish the game was just a little better optimized if im having a bit of a struggle running it on my pc i could imagine what it must be like on mid teir or lower end computers. Which is kind of a bummer because you need certain settings on high or at least medium to see animals at all from more than 30 meters away. Other than that gameplay wise its a really fun experience. I enjoy just walking around the nature of the reserves most of the time. Its a great time sink. Cant say ive dealt with my data disappearing as of yet. But i have had the odd crash or two at some pretty inopportune times. One being a crash while i was just about to collect a mythic black bear i had spent about an hour trying to hunt lol but is what it is. Personally dont like multiplayer as my friends who play this use cheats which as someone who plays the game normally makes the experience very boring. i can only imagine the ammount of cheating that must go on in random lobbies. Otherwise though i agree its a solid game and a definite buy, even with out the dlc you can get hundreds of hours of fun. I played for 50 hours before i bought any of the dlc and feel it was well worth it still.

Nice video, but regarding DLCs. I purchased game before xmas in 2023, just because there was free to play weekend on steam (I had no idea that games like this even exists - I wasnt searching for them, it just pop on my screen) and then it costs like 3€. Because game was so nice. I decided to purchase all DLCs just to support developing of the game. Keep in mind I purchased it via xmas discounts and all DLCs cost like +/-40€. That price is way cheaper than most games on PC. The frustration from not killing animals early in game was very frustrating. I will never forget I was tracking bleeding whitetail deers for up to 2km :D which took me like 10-15mins in real time. That was before I had a dog. What really helped me to understand "the ability to kill" was real life hunting videos with explaining anatomy of the animals and also the moment where I "learnt" to show X-ray vision on harvest screen. After that I was heading in right direction when I realized what organs to hit and where they are. As FPS gamer I am kinda disappointed that headshots aint rewarded and they hurts ur trophies because u hit trophy organ :D Then I get to higher levels unlocking better ammo, learn how penetration is important. When I knew where to shoot but had trouble to aim properly (aiming wasnt automatic as it is now), then I purchased all DLCs and with new weapons like zarza .308 it was super easy to hunt whitetails deers. So far I have been on 5maps and I am still shocked about graphic. When I climb via story mission on highest peak in Silver Ridge Peaks. I was enjoying graphic for a minute, because it was just beautiful. With tomorrow newest patch I just finished my set up on Silver Ridge Peaks for my first grind for black bears. But my favourite game style is still to wander randomly on map and using bow to kill everything I see ;) I hope repetitiveness of grinds wont make me dislike the game.

Love your perspective! I've had heaps of fun with the game and I've nearly clocked in 1000 hours on TheHunter. The grind becomes repetitive very quickly but it is the best way to find a great one and diamonds. If you see yourself getting bored, go back to playing through some stories or even start achievement hunting. Have fun!

As someone that started playing this game recently, I'm not a fan of this game. The first thing I disliked was how janky the inventory/story/item menu is. I get that it needs to be realistic but it's just so slow, I want to hunt and not spend a lifetime figuring out how the inventory system works. The second thing I disliked, the immersion it's just not right for me, if I run, I get detected by animals instantly over 200m and through solid terrain and if I slow walk I can sneak up to anything with ease. I also dislike how some animals just run non stop while other will run 50m, stop and completely ignore you even though you're in plain site and just startled them allowing you to just run them down. Lets not forget about calls and how it just tells you where the animal is, what it is and how far away it is.... why? I want to hunt new things and learn what they are and how to hunt them.... and what about the spotter scope giving you xray vision.... seriously its supposed to be realistic... I want to like this game but its just not what I expected from a realistic hunting game.

When the game first launched, it was probably one of the most realistic hunting games out there. Since then, there has been quite a change to make it more arcadey. If you would like a true simulation, TheHunter: Classic is a much more authentic hunting experience in my opinion. Way of the Hunter is also a great choice too :)

The hitboxes in this game still need fixing. I sneaked on a level 7 red deer sleeping and shot the lung peaking out just behind the tree, there was a clear amount of space between the tree and where i aimed, yet the animal didnt get shot at 20 meters because some invisible hitbox blocked the god damn shot. I wasted so much time on stupid glitches ruining my hunts even though the game is old af.

A little disppointijg the animals dont have an AI system of any sort. Just always being in the same place at the same time would make the gamre rather borin i would think

They need to make it a bit more realistic...a heart lung shot with a 270 from 80 yards is not something a deer will run away from for too far

I bought the angler instead.

is there a setting to change animal behavior and frequency ? ....base game is 3 dollars on steam. the greenhorn pack is 10. i played enough when it came out to realize like you said its just an arcade shooter with a nice looking skin. animals are too predictable. i just would fast travel to my tents and get trophy after trophy. pass.

Hey, are you refeering to the series X? I don't believe there is a next gen version but I know that players are buying the xbox one version and playing that on their Series X. Way of the Hunter is a great hunting game that's on Xbox Series X. You should definitely check that out too!

Quit the game I loved this game but it was always love hate even when Australia came out i got a super rare piebald saltwater croc on my birthday however i switched PCs and lost all my progress even though it was on external drive and steam cloud this showed me how bad the game actually was and all the problems came to light for me and i switched to WOTH and it is better i prefer realism and COTW is just ugly they don't even have waterfalls and streams even mississippi plus alligators look ugly as a southerner i really hate the gator models and the trophy system where you get rewarded for having small animals sucks plus DLC that seem Pay to win is absurd and the community is toxic any time i talk about my problems with the game everyone gets defensive and offended by what i say plus WOTH also allows hunting on reserves you don't have i didn't have aurora shores but joined multiplayer on the map plus if you gut shot an animal you don't lose the trophy and trophies are pretty decently distributed they are not too hard to get and not too easy i reccomend anyone reading this to give WOTH a shot maybe when on sale even my friends switched over when they got the game

Thanks for your comment! I agree with some of your points for why you don't like COTW but I do have to say that it's still a great game that everyone should check out if they're into hunting. Way of the Hunter is perfect for those who want a more simulated experience though!

the game just makes me want to play far cry; at least in far cry controls and gameplay have the option to fun amok. Call of the wild takes its self too seriously for wat is just an fps shooter of animals.

I guess I'm glad it makes you feel something ahahha. If you want more of a simulation, check out Way of the Hunter. It kind of reminds me of hunting in TheHunter Classic but with updated graphics
