Thanks for showing the test most people put it together and drive down the road and you don't get to see if it works

Yeah me too. For clarification the only reason I’m running that is because it came with that axle but I’m putting a bigger axle with a real locker in it.

What size tires are you running that required the upgrade? I run stock tires on my F150 (I know, not a jeep), but I'm looking at upgrading to this diff in my rear end for towing and light off roading- the worst I get into is crosssing plowed cornfields, muddy waterways, snow.....typical stuff we have here in the midwest, lol.

the normal configuration will be fine for you. when I got my axle the previous owner put this in the front, Id rather have a locker. I was just trying to make it better. limited slips have no place in the front axle of a crawler lol and it wont be there long. to me they are much better suited to rear axles

I thouth about spending the big bucks on a selectable locker on the front like the newer F150's (mine is an 03', but going with a Yukon or eaton posi probably is the way to go for me. Every now and again in the winter I go around pulling other motorists out of the snow on my way to/from work with a tow/kinnetic rope that added traction would be nice without going full locker, lol. @@FlawedOffroad

@@StormLakeryeah that’s the perfect scenario for a lim slip. If you’re not rock crawling or doing serious trails it’s not worth. Removing the front differential from IFS trucks can be a little bit tricky I do it all the time at work for Lift kits but quite often you have to cut the mount that holds the crossmember to get it out to even be able to change the carrier out for a locker. Every year and model is a little different. some of them come out and some of them require cutting, I would definitely look into that before you get too deep into a purchase. It’s possible there’s enough room to swap it out in the truck by just removing the steering rack out of the way. Don’t mean to crap on your parade but it’s something to consider

Totally understand. Like I said, the rear is more important to upgrade in my case. I just got done rebuilding the entire front end- lots of 20 year old OG components, lol. I'd probably have to remove the differential supportl bushings with everything but a wrench, they are so corroded, lol. I can see where the steering might get in the way, maybe remove the radiator, etc haha. @@FlawedOffroad

@@FlawedOffroad Hey, I aint got anything against running a clutch style diff. I just love the confused looks of pedestrians when i pull into a parking lot. The clunks and bangs really confuse them hahaha

Luckily in my case I didnt waste any money, it came in this axle lol. And the whole axle is getting replaced with a dana 60 anyway. This was just meant to be a test to see if I could improve the duragrip in the meantime, and it did get better
