I believe this to be a case of the condition “erotomania”. A condition where the effected believes that someone is in love with them and possibly thinks that the target person communicates with the effected through code. Usually the effected targets someone of a higher social status. She probably genuinely believed that the pastor loved her and was trying to, or succeeding in communicating with her. It also explains why she seemed “normal”, as this was likely one of her only delusions. As for her death, that’s a whole different story.

This is often a symptom of schizophrenia. Talika tweeted about hearing 2 voices and was trying to handle it on her own. The sad thing is schizophrenia can't be self-treated and the fact her family was in denial of how she passed could be an example of the stigma around mental health in the black community (I myself am black before anyone reading takes this the wrong way). It's sad they didn't notice what was wrong because she had moved away from home. I don't blame them though, there's no way they could have known how bad it was

The death reminds me of another "mysterious death" that sounds like a mental health episode. I wish I could remember her name. But before her death she was acting very strange. She called 911 saying people were in her apartment. You can hear her roommate in the background saying "no one is here, look, there's no one here". She believed people had broken in and that she could hear them talking and going through things while on the phone with 911 but no one was there and her roommate was trying her best to show her no one was there. Then one day she went missing. Security cameras showed her walking her dog, and it looked like she was talking to someone who wasn't there. She then took off. Her body was found in the water. They believe she thought someone was after her and she went to the water to hide then died. Her family is in denial, doesn't think she had any mental health disorders and thinks she was murdered. Another similar death was Elisa Lamb. Another one that sounds very similar to this, Mitrice Richardson. She ran up a restaurant bill then tried to leave without paying, which was odd behavior for her. They noted other odd behavior from her. She was arrested for it, never gave her a psych evaluation and just released in the middle of the night in freezing temperatures and went missing.

Yeah, Elisa Lam's case is very tragic too. When it first happened, I was just a teen, so I got swept up in the conspiracy too, but then not only did I get older, but I began suffering my own mental problems, and it become do sad to me how much media was exploiting a mental break down for money, mostly so they could push the paranormal angle and make shows about it.

@@xymoriintus That’s what I thought too! Both drowned in bodies of water, both thought they were in danger and both were acting erratically before their deaths. The saddest part is that while Elisa was at least being treat for her mental illness, Teleka wasn’t even aware herself that she needed mental help.

agree. since i’ve become an adult my mental health has declined severely. i’ve gone thru psychosis and mania and i could 100% picture myself in her shoes if i weren’t on meds and in therapy. it’s absolutely tragic that this happened to her. she seemed like such a sweet girl who just needed a little help

It's also very likely there were signs throughout her life, that went unnoticed or naively ignored, brushed aside. Strange quirks or weird episodes, things like that. That her family looks at everything they've seen and refuse to believe there was no foul play, it seems kinda like they'd be the types to ignore any early symptoms.

Imagine just disappearing one day and nobody knows where you are. Everyone starts thinking you've left to start a new life somewhere when it's actually far from that. That's one gut wrenching thought right there. Edit- I never said that this is what had happened to the poor woman. I know she was schizophrenic. It's just a thought that crossed my mind. You did a good job on bringing Teleka's tragic story back to light. We need for more people to realize how anyone can be stressed enough to have a break from reality and how to recognize the signs. I prayed for this young lady's safe return although I had already guessed what had happened. She was an intelligent young lady who had a bright future ahead of her. There is one issue that needs to be corrected, Marvin Sapp & his church , at the time, were in Grand Rapids, MI an hour or so north of Kalamazoo.

As a person who suffers with psychosis; I completely understand this "break" of hers. I almost feel as if she wasn't getting enough sleep. Being a doctor is unimaginably difficult. And the things she may have seen could have contributed to this episode. It's genuinely very common with psychosis to feel as if they are being watched, stalked, intimidated or ridiculed. When my psychosis was incredibly bad, and I was sectioned. I began to think there were people outside my house, people chanting at me and every person that walked by was plotting against me. It got so bad that even when I was watching a football match (soccer), when the crowd were doing their respective teams chants, I could hear the crowd chanting and plotting to kill me. From my own experience, this seems like a telltale sign of someone falling into mental disrepair. R.I.P

I started feeling mentally unwell like that before. I don't know what caused it or what snapped me out of it but I kept thinking the police/government were tracking me, stalking me that they were posted outside my house watching me and everything I did. It was horrible, I felt so scared!

@@gnack420 well of course it’s something more than lack of sleep, but doesn’t mean it’s not a factor in it. Remember Teleka was not only a doctor, but in residency a phase in your medical career where you are always on the clock. Young interns and residents notoriously don’t get a lot of sleep as well as a stigma of mental illness in the medical provider community. Such a tragic case.

Being a resident, yeah, she definitely was not getting enough sleep and would have been under a lot of stress. Even as someone who only experiences very mild hallucinations, I don't want to consider the impact being under that level of strain would have. It really bothers me when people use big platforms like YT to play devil's advocate/imply there's something else going on, based on symptoms of a medical condition that they don't understand. A logically related event is not needed to trigger episodes like this, and the insistence that "something must have happened" feels a little gross, akin to sensationalism.

Friendly reminder that no matter how normal, sweet, kind, and intelligent a person genuinely is, there could always be a roiling cauldron of mental anguish none of us can see. Not all struggles are easy to notice.

That's the most terrifying part. Like the officer said, this case is as close to solved as it is going to get right now. Nothing short of someone confessing to the murder could truly solve this. After all, opportunity killers usually get away with their crimes for the longest.

This is genuinely one of the saddest things I've seen in a while. I don't agree with stalking, but 2 things makes me have some sympathy: 1. I've not heard of her sending threats to the man/his family (if she did, I stand corrected), 2. She didn't have a good marriage and said her husband was abusive, making me wonder if she listened to the preacher's songs and sermons to get her through, grew fixated, and (because of her condition) latched onto that. Even people who are mentally altogether can obsess, so her condition exacerbated it. But at the core, she seemed very sweet (and was reportedly so by those who knew her), she was smart, she seemed to want someone to take care of and share sweetness with. It's so doggone sad!

I feel so bad for her. She clearly was suffering from erotomania on top possible schizophrenia or an extreme case of bipolar disorder with bouts of psychosis. One of her friends (while she was in med school) told her she needed to get psychiatric help and her response was combative. She accused the friend of trying to ruin her life

i love how painfully inconvenient this is her car tyre bursts in the middle of nowhere right next to a lake at dead night.

Poor Teleka... she really seemed like a genuinely kind and intelligent person. I'm not saying what she did to Marvin was in any way correct, but it's so sad that she fell into that mental state and had all this happen. I wish she'd been able to get help.

It seems like she wasn't treated well in her marriage, so maybe that could be why she retreated into fantasy where she couldn't get hurt. I could see the preacher's songs and sermons helping get her through some dark days and her latching onto that. However, because she was unwell, she took the fantasy too far. She was a pretty young woman who was very intelligent, sweet, and had a great job. She was going to be someone more. And it's all the more tragic because it didn't need to happen and she could have had the resources to stop it. I so wish she'd not forgotten her money but had checked into the hotel instead (though not absolutely certain she didn't meet with foul play).

this type of story, as well as the very famous one of the young man who started acting paranoid and bizarre who ran away from an airport and then was never seen again, are the first 50% of a story that we actually hear all the time -- that someone has an underlying mental illness and left the house one day, are too mentally ill to find their way back or choose to return on their own, become homeless, and eventually years later their family finds out they have bipolar with delusions or schizophrenia and are still battling homelessness or addiction to this day. it's just that sadly sometimes when someone has a psychotic break and runs, they get into an accident or find themselves in unsafe circumstances and don't ever pop up again for their family to find.

This situation absolutely screamed psychotic break from the moment she walked into the hotel lobby. Poor woman. Also... I think it's possible the wrong person picked her up, but it was chance, not someone targeting her specifically.

As someone who suffers from manic episodes sometimes you literally don’t need anything to trigger one. I’ve had nights where I have gotten convinced someone was watching me and nothing was there and nothing happened. It’s scary.

@PestoMayo manic episodes can last for a year and can take a year to develop. I huge misconception is that someone “snaps” and something triggers the episode when in reality it’s more common for manic episodes to slowly develop overtime until they hit there peak. And then they slowly come back down.

@PestoMayo very true, I’m a undergrad in psychology and when I learned that I was surprised as well. Manic episodes can come with psychosis such as bipolar 1 disorder. But often they are described as being feelings of great “purpose” like you can do anything and no repercussions will happen which ultimately results in risky behavior and extreme changes in mood. I think the problem is that episode is commonly misused to mean something that “just happens” when actually the real definition of “episode” suggests the opposite. So while I agree with you, I think it’s just a problem with people misusing the word when discussing maniac episodes. Because most people don’t know that a typical maniac episode takes weeks to months to slowly develops and that same amount of time to come down. So people just assume “episode” means short and abruptly.

@PestoMayo that’s why most videos of someone showing there “manic episode” is just completely false. Because you can’t know when it’s going to happen. There are signs but those sings are there for weeks to months. So they would have to be recording everyday to accurately catch it. If you ever see a video of someone trying to show what a maniac episode is and they just start acting weird out of nowhere. Then they are lying. You can see someone gradually build up but often times it’s overlooked as well. That’s why I’m so shocked people where trying to find telekas “trigger” because there doesn’t have to be one for Bipolar, ESPECIALLY one as bad as hers (assuming she has this of course which I think it’s safe to say she does).

I really don’t think she was kidnapped and killed… I really think she was suffering from some kind of a mental break and ran into the lake in a delirious state thinking she was being pursued. That’s incredibly sad 😔 I feel for her family, I can understand why it’s hard for them to believe it wasn’t foul play

My hearts breaks for Teleka. I was diagnosed with psychosis at the age of 14 when I attempted to run away from home, while I was running away on the streets, my dad was running up to catch me. I could’ve died as I would run and cars would pass by. Fortunately my dad caught up to me, a stranger had stopped me and next thing I know I was in an ambulance. After, that everything was so vague. The next thing I know I was at a psych ward with other kids with similar problems of their own. Psychosis is scary. After that incident, I would run away 2x more times. Eventually this stopped. Why I no longer experience psychotic moments, I do experience mania due to my bi-polar 1 disorder that was diagnosed in par with my psychosis. What Teleka experienced was definitely really real, that love that she created in her head was so strong she was willingly to stay and be with that pastor. Only those who’ve experienced delusions or mania could understand. I empathize so much with Teleka. This year ironically, I created a false delusion in my mind and fail in “love”with someone who one was in love with someone else, and someone whom I only met once. However, this fantasy or illusion of us being together was so strong that I only ended getting hurt. We no longer speak to one another as it ended in a negative manner over text and we’ve blocked one another on social media. So I can imagine Teleka and this illusion she had with being with that pastor. May her beautiful soul and spirit rest in peace. She deserved all the love in the world. 🕊️ Reminds us all how real mental health is and if you’re going through a hard time please seek professional help if needed.

I follow a couple people on TikTok that have suffered psychotic breaks and talk about their life afterwards. From my understanding they just can happen with no rhyme or reason. It's really sad that this happened to her she seemed like she had a bright future ahead of herself.

Mental health stigmas really can mess up situations like this. She could have got help for her issues! Schizophrenia really can be scary.

I think what freaks me out the most is knowing that perfectly healthy stable people with no personal or family background in mental illness suddenly start to inexplicably lose their minds, freak out and disappear without a trace. And it can happen to anyone. Anytime. That thought TERRIFIES me that it'll happen to me or someone I love.

These people are rarely ‘perfectly healthy and stable’, there were more than likely warning signs that their friends or families dismissed or didn’t notice, or they are incredibly good at masking. Breaks like this rarely happen suddenly and inexplicably out of the blue.

@@iamjackspyramidshapedhelmet I never said it's a common thing, but it does happen. I don't like using anecdotal evidence, but just to make an example it happened to a guy I knew, Max. Perfectly normal middle aged man, married with kids, living happily in Alaska. Suddenly over the course of a few days he just started acting super bizarre and sometimes violent. By the third day he disappeared without any of his belongings. He was found some months later in California as a crazy bum rambling about Jesus. His family said nothing happened to set him off that they're aware of. He never went back to his family. Instead he made his way to Michigan where he continued his crazy antics and once tried choking me in a gas station. Apparently according to his cousin who moved around with him, the county psychologists said he had some late onset schizophrenia. They believe one of his parents had it. (They also suspected other disorders too, perhaps borderline personality.) He was just a rare case that didn't experience it earlier in life. So at this point anything could've set it off. My point is, while it's not common, it does happen. And sometimes it happens without much explanation. At least Max was able to get diagnosed.

I’m sure people close to her had to notice a change in her behavior. I believe she suffered from paranoid schizophrenia which my mom has the same condition. Once you’re in a maniac state your condition rapidly declines. from my experience with my mom she would always display signs so it’s sad no one noticed or maybe they did . Either way it’s so unfortunate.

As someone who experiences mild psychosis, I can say that it actually can be really hard to notice. Not to mention she was a doctor and therefore already would have been showing signs of stress, which some people might have attributed to that. Sometimes I have no idea what I should and shouldn’t say to people, but sometimes I’m aware enough to understand that even though I KNOW what’s happening is true, other people wouldn’t believe me. Sometimes I avoid telling people about my delusions because I know they’ll say it isn’t real (even though at the time I believe it is), or sometimes because I’m scared they may call the police or my family to inform them of my delusional state. It isn’t always easy to spot, especially if you don’t live with the person or if the person is always busy while you interact with them (work).

I lost a close friend around 10 years ago in a situation similar to this. Unfortunately after going through some tough times, he got himself mixed in with a bad crowd and the group had stolen a car, crashed it and left it abandoned on the side of the road, the group had split up to get away from the police and that was the last time anyone had seen him. One month later his body was found in the ocean. To this day there are so many unanswered questions. RIP 😢

Wow, that is incredibly sad! I’m sorry about your friend, but that is a lot different than this story here.

Some people don't realize just how easy it is to hide how much you are suffering or to miss or dismiss signs of mental illness that end up being obvious down the road. Hindsight is 20/20.

Very sad. She seemed lonely and maybe even schizophrenic.

i used to know a girl who’s delusional beyond help, there’s a certain character that she’s madly in love with to the point she bought a wedding dress just so she can get marry with him and then she would insult and sent death threats to people who claim to love this character as well because that character is hers and hers alone … so when i saw Talika’s pattern of behavior right away i felt a sudden deja vu … whenever i watch case where someone gone missing, it always gave me chills …

There's even a word for it. I forgot what they call it, but it's common enough that there's an actual label for it when you fall in love with a celebrity and you are convinced they love you back even though they don't know who you are

I feel bad for the hotel worker who asked if she was okay. I feel like it would be easy for them to feel an unfair amount of guilt about noticing she was unwell but not doing more somehow to get them help.

I wish more people had a realistic mentality. Why would he, of all people, feel guilt? He literally did everything he could. What was he supposed to do in that context, he had no reason to call the authorities- the lady was simply acting a bit nervous, not like her behavior really warranted any action. He asked if she needed help, she replied no. What else was he supposed to do? Like, of all the people involved in this tragedy, I think it's her family and coworkers who could feel guilt, because they can be haunted by this idea that they didn't notice these changes in her. Or even the Gospel singer, I can kinda see how he would be bothered. It's a terrible tragedy and I feel really bad for this poor lady and her family. At the end of the day, though, it's nobody's fault. But the hotel manager? Come on.

All those "empathetic" people saying "X and Y should've done this", "They should and could have done more," and "If I were those people, I'd do this and that." Erica I think it would be normal for a caring person to feel this way although they couldn't have done anything more.

This case reminds me of my stalker. When you are the stalked, you feel helpless. There's nothing you can say or do to get stalkers to think differently. No one takes it serious until something happens. They think stalkers are harmless but they're not.

Theory: They had a one night stand or fling, she became infatuated, he wanted to protect his family from the exposure, told his 'people' to ''Get rid of her''.

Mental illness is common, but it's able to be treated, she just was one of those who never received adequate treatment. It's a sad situation, really.

I feel so much for this woman, regardless or whether she had a manic episode or was a victim of foul play. She was so beautiful and intelligent; yet obviously so lonely and in turmoil.

She is obsessed with this actress, constantly messages the actress and the actresses friends and family on Instagram, insists the actors posts are coded messages to her, insists they are in love and soul mates, believes they have some telepathic bond, all that. We are internet friends so I honestly don't know what I can do. It's been like 2 years into this fixation now.

So many people misunderstand mental illness. I was diagnosed with quite a few mental issues years ago as I age they are getting worse, mental illness is not a joke or something to point at millions are affected, including the families.

I had a close friend and her mom would be having a fool blown conversation for hours with no one. She would be talking, sometimes yelling, sometimes crying and nobody was there. She is a good woman, I know it’s so hard for people who go through similar things and I’m sending my prayers to anyone who has family or been through things like this. Mental illness is a battle we don’t always win

Also a 2002 TV movie called "Obsessed" starring Jenna Elfman. It's based on the real-life case of Diane Schaefer who was convinced a local married surgeon was in love with her. She stalked and harassed him for years, and was ultimately sentenced to 2 years in prison.

So do I. It seems like she was having a forbidden affair with someone and they only communicated through diffrent Twitter accts, and also whenever they met up at that hotel, which is why she didn't take her own car. She fell in love. He didn't. That's when a forbidden relationship becomes dangerous for the married party. He had ignored her for 2 days. She felt used and probably threatened him with exposure. She worked around doctors who are trained to recognize mental illness. Her coworkers said on that particular day she was acting strange. She was scared. She knew he was powerful enough to have her killed.

I totally agree with this. Sniffer dog's are amazing at their job, more so than most people realize, and the fact her scent stopped at the side of the road irks me. Plus crimes like these are often ones of opportunity, and as you said, all it takes is being in the wrong place, at the wrong time. It'd be even more opportune considering her mental state at the time.

Im not blaming the coworker at all, but them being a hospital worker I assume, should have noticed her manic episode she seemed to be going through, Surely I think. And should have helped further, speaking to any colleague at their work, who knew of mental issues, or taking her to a police station.. Not taking her to a hotel in the same city she lives in, thats very abnormal to ask to be left at a local hotel when she actually lived in a home near by.

Yes please don’t ever take people suffering a mental health crisis to a police station unless absolutely necessary. Not only are most law enforcement, in any country, are very unequipped to handle mental health crises but it can also escalate a situation very quickly to those having a break. A hospital is almost always a better safer place for everyone involved.

as for "what triggered her manic episode," there isn't always a trigger at all. often it just happens. I think it's pretty obvious that she was in a different state of mind (mania or psychosis, not drugs) during this - it's pretty easy to spot when you've been in a similar state of mind yourself. mental disorders are nothing to scoff at, and a lot of the time peoples' struggle goes completely unnoticed until it gets too big to ignore, such as what seems to have happened here.

She was in her residency for her MD. You don't get a lot of sleep, and lack of sleep is hard on the human mind period, but way much so for people with mental illness. If people without mental illness can become mentally ill by lack of sleep, it's not surprising that severe mental illness will get triggered.

The stress of a 1st year medical resident, possible undiagnosed mental illness, and unrequited love. It's enough to make anyone go crazy . RIP

@@hoonlyric_ Like, Like..... Inchon, Korea, 1950. I was the best cook Uncle Sam ever saw, slinging hash for the Fighting 103rd. As we marched north, our supply lines were getting thin. One day a couple of GIs found a crate, inside were six hundred pounds of prime Texas steer. At least it once was prime. The Use date was three weeks past, but I was arrogant, I was brash, I thought if I used just the right spices, cooked it long enough...I went too far. I over seasoned it. Men were keeling over all around me. I can still hear the retching, the screaming. I sent sixteen of my own men to the latrines that night. They were just boys. Bobby Colby, all that kid wanted to do was go home. Well he went home alright, with a crater in his colon the size of a cutlet. Had to sit him on a cork the eighteen-hour flight home! Anyway....we dropped the bomb and I'll never pick up another spatula again.

This is horrifying. I live right near all of this and I’ve heard about her story. Knowing the details behind her disappearance is absolutely disturbing.

This is so scary knowing that I lived right by this place when it happened. I was younger in 2013, so I would not have remembered it as well, as I was pretty naïve , but this is only a few miles from where I live. This is all so crazy to hear about. It is incredibly tragic to hear.

It’s so upsetting to me that this type of behavior is seen in a lot more of the popular “disappearing” persons cases. It makes me wonder if anyone would have recognized the behavior as erratic, they could’ve done something to stop it.

A lot of times, family cannot accept the fact that a relative has a mental illness, so they ignore it. My sister developed psychosis in recent years, I was the only one in the family concerned about her, our mother didn’t want to believe it. Things got very severe and eventually our mother accepted the fact that something was wrong, we did an intervention of sorts and my sister finally was put on appropriate medication. No doubt in my mind that she would be dead in a ditch somewhere if she hadn’t gotten treatment.

People who are psychotic tend to have absent parents sadly. Many reasons why the disorder goes out of control because no one cares enough to get them help.

Someone should have done something as soon as the restraining order was filed against her. No one mentally well stalks others, especially to the degree that she did. Someone should have stepped in.

i hate how in mystery cases like these no one will ever know what really happened but the victims, it makes me feel so unsatisfied like there's no justice for them.

As the police stated she probably suffered a psychosis event and accidentally killed herself running away from hallucinations.

My heart goes out to her family, friends and anyone that knew her.

I kinda wonder if she was suffering from Erotomania, since I believe it was mentioned that she believed that famous gospel singer was sending her secret codes and messages meant just for her, and even got an Order of Protection filed against her by the man because it was getting concerning. Her behavior leading up to and especially on that night she went missing is pretty troubling... She was very unwell and people were none the wiser, until that night when even then I kinda feel they weren't concerned enough. They at least acknowledged that her behavior was unusual... but in hindsight you wish they'd done more for her.

This whole situation makes me feel like it’s more likely that she was going through some sort of episode making her jittery, paranoid and highly depressed, potentially leading her to drive to the lake and drown herself. Now I know not much of the evidence 100% lines up whatsoever but I wouldn’t rule this possibility out as it would easily explain the videos and also why she seemed to be believe that she was being chased. EDIT: I just finished the video and just realized my genius

Something still ain't adding up...her scent was stopped in the opposite direction...her body was found 3 months later in a small body of water...directly across from were her car was...yet they didn't find her when they searched that area months before 🤔🧐... something just ain't right to me

Ffs this is hands down one of the scariest cases I've heard of. The fact that she was battling a serious mental illness without anyone else's knowledge, the fact that she hid her stalking from her family and friends so well. I definitely don't suspect any foul play, it seems pretty forward that she did this to herself.

Absolutely. It's one of the most clear cut cases of mental illness related death you will ever see. The only people who will still see this as a mystery at this point are those who simply refuse to accept the facts of the tragedy and choose to believe otherwise.

First, I do want to say that my heart, thoughts and prayers go out to Teleka’s family and friends. To have a loved one go missing, not knowing why they disappeared or where they disappeared to, must be the most horrendous thing to go through. This is why we, as a society, must stop stigmatizing mental illness as taboo. Mental illness does not discriminate, does not care about the person’s financial status, does not care about the ethnicity of a person, does not care about the gender of the person, and does not care about the age of the person. Mental illness can occur in anyone at anytime, so we must be more vigilant about our loved one’s mental health, and about our own mental health; and, we must do everything possible to make sure that our mental health is taken care of, just like we take care of our physical health. I think that there’s a high probability that she had one or more of the following: Erotomania, Obsessive Love Disorder, Celebrity Worship Syndrome, and/or schizophrenia. I honestly think that she did believe that Reverend Sapps was in love with her, and she was incredibly frightened for her life. There are going to be many, many unanswered questions about Dr. Patrick, and why her mental health deteriorated in a quick manner. Why didn’t her coworkers witness her erratic behavior? Why didn’t any of them report her erratic behavior to their superiors? Was she able to “hold” it together in front of her colleagues and patients? I just hope and pray that she’s resting peacefully in her eternal slumber, and is helping to take care of the angels in Heaven. Teleka sounded like a sweet, superbly kindhearted, highly intelligent, extremely talented - her voice was that of an angel, and very beautiful on the inside as well as the outside.

I believe she suffered from paranoid schizophrenia. My mom suffers from it once she stops taking her meds her behavior and routine drastically changes almost identical to signs that’s she’s displaying. Fortunately family always steps in to assist her getting medical attention but it’s extremely difficult once you’re in a manic state . I feel bad cause it doesn’t appear that she had immediate family or friends who noticed her condition which caused this tragedy. Mental health is very serious and for anyone whose suffering from it or knows someone battling it please never give up no matter how difficult it gets.

Mental ilness is no joke. I can't talk on behalf of people suffering from schizophrenia, but as somone with anxiety, I can tell you from my own expierence that it's terrible when you have an episode. (as I call them) The feeling of something being wrong, and the confusion makes you doubt you'r sanity, wonder if you'r crazy, witch only maked the situation worse. You have no peace becausr you constantly feel like something bad is gonna happen. Please get help if you, or somone you know suffers like this.

I feel for Taleka 😢 I fell in love with a girl who I cared about deeply. Her mother had schizophrenia and was hospitalized. The girl I talked to didn’t show any signs of it until….one day she started manifesting the signs and symptoms. You see, some mental health illnesses don’t manifest themselves until a certain age. It broke my heart, her whole personality changed it was like I was dating a completely different person. I really miss the woman from back then she’s gone for good 😢

I can see from her videos that she already looked unwell :( Even though she smiled and spoke cheerfully there was something unsettling and vacant in her gaze, as if she was battling an inner turmoil which she tried to mask with her smile. RIP Teleka

@@damianplasencia2708Her eyes are vacant, they don’t move around just still, there’s some spirit that overcame her: her face expressions don’t match her eyes. Smile seems happy, eyes seem still and fake!

Poor baby😢 she was so pretty and had such a promising road ahead. I hate that it seemed as if she had no close friends or family that tried to help her get psychological and medicinal help to control her mental issues and lead a productive life.

What a horribly dark and tragic story all-around. It's absolutely terrifying what your own mind can put you through, especially when the illness or condition is left untreated. Rest In Peace, Taleka. You deserved so much better.

She definitely had psychosis, the connecting patterns, erratic behaviors, moving to be with someone, obsessions, delusions…it’s sad how no one noticed…I’ve had psychosis before and luckily it got caught early and my family noticed as none of my classmates did. I always check up on ppl to see with they are okay bc of this experience. It’s sad that no one could help her before it was to late…

What's wrong with you people in the comments? People are not going to notice something a lot of time because people with MI can hide things well. Not only that, but just because you try to check up on someone doesn't mean you know if they're well. They can hide that and lie about it as well.

I have gone through a traumatic experience that made me lose touch with reality so I can say that it sucks she didn't have anyone close to her to help her. During my episode, I was lucid enough at one point to call the police from a motel room and I got treated in a hospital. I don't have total memory of what happened but I remember thinking I was on a Greyhound bus going to hell and that everyone with me was going to hell too. Luckily I never really got violent but I was really close to walking out into the cold in Wyoming.

It's heart breaking that she went through this mental illness, but so horrifyingly worrying that she was a doctor, surrounded by doctors and nurses and it was never picked up. There was no signs they could tell. Of course it's never their fault, it just goes to show how things like this hide in everyday life.

It’s scary to me how one day some people just snap, maybe there was a reason for her manic episodes but it’s scary to think there wasn’t at all. Usually with cases like these families see mental health deteriorating over time but sometimes you never know what someone is going through.

Most of the time, mental illness can worsen due to stress and external factors. So, it's not no reason, she just was unfortunately never treated.

This is tragic....this is a perfect example of how stressful life really gets. we have no idea what people are dealing with. the saddest part our society is far from empathetic. Its so easy for people to say "they should have done this or that". But none of us know what they going thru. Also shows money don't buy you happiness or peace of mind.

I have a cousin in her 50’s one day just had a psychotic break after living a normal life for 50 years. She told us things we couldn’t believe and even ran away from what she was perceiving as threats. Once we couldn’t find her for over a week. Mental health is a very fragile thing. She even started to be paranoid against us, her family. We have to keep an eye on our loved ones 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 I don’t know how recent this case is but I’m praying for her and her family

Over a decade

I hope if people take away anything from this heartbreaking video, they understand that psychosis and mental illness can happen to anyone. Teleka was a doctor, she worked and studied hard and was obviously incredibly smart. If something seems off in your loved ones life, please pay attention. This type of stuff can happen out of nowhere, but there are usually at least some signs leading up to such an event.

She seemed so lovely and sweet it’s such a shame she died RIP🕊️

Lots of KZreadrs want vanished and some of them we don’t have in contact with or even know where they want. Great video.

One of my mom’s grandfathers went missing. It was in rural Mexico in the late 50s. He had mild dementia yet was still functional. He boarded a train to go visit family elsewhere but he never made it. They never found him.

Man, there's something so uncomfortable about her own videos feels so intimate and specifically for one person, feels like you're watching something you're not meant to see.

It's so scary to watch when you hear her talking still it's scary to watch
