The Youngest Player in the NBA Shouldn't Be THIS Good Already

Спорт

GG Jackson has been unstoppable lately for the Memphis Grizzlies, racking up a sizable amount of 20+ point games in only 19 minutes a night. GG Jackson was a controversial prospect with all sorts of reports coming out prior to the 2023 NBA draft about things like his attitude and maturity, but you'd never know it by watching him lately.
The Memphis Grizzlies haven't had the season they probably wanted to have, but the Ja Morant injury has allowed them to focus more on youth development, and it's clear that GG Jackson is benefitting greatly from it.

Great video as always alex. Teams hitting on 2nd round picks is how teams keep their contending window open and the grizzlies did that drafting gg jackson and vince williams. Now they have 2 very solid role players to be in their rotation to contend for the next few years on cheap contracts

The first 20 games of next season is going to be so interesting to see where GG is. He's thriving in the scoring role he's been given right now but when he's trying to fit in while the Grizz (hopefully!!) always have at least one of Ja Bane Jaren on the floor, will he be able to find the right mix of catch and shoot and creating his own shot to play winning basketball? Will defensive and passing improvement help him be a dude who fits in any lineup? His assist numbers are worryingly low; if you're a black hole on offense then you're easier to guard in important moments. Some Grizz fans are talking about him like he's the 2nd option of the future. But he's not there yet and how he fits into the healthy roster while trying to develop into that is going to be big. It's so hard to evaluate his ceiling because in my mind that fluctuates between 6MotY and legitimate All-NBA threat. (Keep in mind, that's ceiling. Not guarantee)

  • @nbaburn3569

Pulled a very low numbered card of him and contemplated if I should hold or sell it now, because I don't know if his going to get this much opportunity when the team is back and healthy scared that he might end up like Eric Paschall who puts up number on a bad team

Grizz set several records for injuries this season. 594 player games missed (vs 85 for the Thunder). 33 players played minutes. They deserve some lottery luck, and then, next year, knock on wood, they reclaim their rightful spot among the top of the league.
