Good day! This is a piano instrumental of the traditional American folk song “The Yellow Rose of Texas.”

The earliest known instance of “The Yellow Rose of Texas” was published in an 1853 in a songbook without sheet music. The lyrics were revised and set to music in 1858. It is thought by some that “The Yellow Rose of Texas” referred to Emily D. West, a folk heroine of the Texas Revolution. American choral conductor Mitch Miller recorded a version of the song in 1955, selling over a million copies.
The song was popular during the American Civil War and was sung with various lyrics on both sides of the conflict.
