The XYZPrinting da Vinci 1.0 AiO is an affordable approach to 3D printing

Ғылым және технология

cnet.co/1tU7PHu
CNET editor Dong Ngo demonstrates how well the da Vinci 1.0 can replicate a 3D object. Does this mean we'll soon see some little Dongs running around? Not really! You wish! Not gonna happen!

I love dong! Hands down the funniest and most entertaining reviewed. It just shows that even if English is not your first language you can be an awesome reviewer!

Pretty amusing to come back ten years later - $800 is an outrageous price nowadays, especially given that the company that makes it is out of business, and a Bambu P1S goes for less than that while being a far superior machine in every possible metric. Amazing how far the technology has come.

I like how 10 years from now, we'll look back at videos like this and think this is such a primitive, slow, crappy bit of printer.

Haha true that, and I will actually be using it for my business, will cut out having to hand-mold a lot of stuff and make it look heaps more professional.

The best I could do for the XYZPrinting da Vinci 1.0 AiO 3D printer is $100, its going to sit for a long time and people don't come in my shop everyday asking for a 3D printer.

I have a question, Do I have to use the filament from this company? or would I be able to open the casing and replace the filament myself?

  • @jerichovirus7590

No, you can't open it and replace the filament. However, you can use your own by bypassing the cartridge. There are a lot of videos how to do it on YT.

It honestly doesnt matter if the printer cost $100, the point is the filament cost. Just like regular inkjet printers the printer can be $10 but the ink cost $100 vs a $500 printer with $10 ink. I actually am looking forward to the XYZprinting more now because of the cost.

And just as with such printers, you can buy cartridge resetter on eBay and refill your own cartridges. I placed my order for one today and I might eventually post my experiences. PS: If I remember right, there's also a way to use it with standard spools of wire without the hassle of refilling or fearing the printer claims that there is no filament left [even when you might know that there is].

asbaDoce Is there a video for that cause I honestly don't buy any other filament except for the ones on the actual sites, afraid it might mess up the printer. I currently have a makerbot replicator 2. One thing i hate about it though is you can't take the heating plate off, not that I know of. But I have heard problems with the XYZ doing what you have just said with the "no filament" problem. Would love to hear a review on the cartridge re-setter you bought.

I've never seen a 3d printer. I've always assumed they were like a cnc machine but it cuts a block of plastic. That's very impressive. I don't need ine, but I can find uses for one........

The support has been there everytime I've needed it like today when I got a new PC. I've had this exact model for over 6 years and still use it as well as my Monoprice Mini. Not bad from a secondhand store for under $100 for both.

they are not dropping that much in cost 1 there are few patents a lot of this is open source 2. the electronics these run on are dirt cheap already 3. the hard ware lead screws gears and motors are old technology and will not fluxuate much in price 4 the price of the steel components will not change and you don't want plastic lead screws 5 you would be surprised the simplicity of this its bells and whistle that bring them up to 2 grand but making one will cost you 600- 1000 then add labor and bells and you'll see why the better ones are 2 g I would not touch a $100 3d printer with a 10ft pole if that is even possible unless we find a huge iron mine and new development in steel production the price of oil dropping more and new techniques for making lead screw I doubt that will ever happen
