The Worst Zoo In The World - Wild Animal Rescue

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Animals at a struggling zoo in Gaza are in desperate need of aid. Left devastated by war, Khan Younis Zoo was dubbed the ‘worst zoo in the world.’ In 2014 Khan Younis Zoo boasted 44 animals now only 15 remain. FOUR PAWS must rapidly swing into action to relocate the remaining animals and find new homes for them.

Running a zoo is expensive and highly complex. In UK now larger animals are moved to larger open zoos. But a zoo in Gaza that must be a tough task poor animals - saw some bad things in India appreciate it is a poor country but big cats in tiny cages in direct sun no shade. grim. The only sensible 'zoos' are huge reserves - animals can be protected and live more normally.Good animals were rescued.

Owning animal (locked up in a cage) is like having children. They can't take care of themselves and should always be the number one priority. If you aren't able to keep them happy and healthy you shouldn't have the permission to own them.

He’s a pc of shit human. If he really cared for these animals he would let them go with zero financial gain. Animals should NEVER be confined for human amusement. We are all selfish assholes to ever think otherwise. I will NEVER go to zoo’s or aquariums. People need to quit saying these things are “for the kids.” Kids do not need to learn it’s okay to exploit animals for their own amusement. Good conditions or bad - places like these are all bullshit.

Jumping to conclusions without context again. I will say it was foolish of him to choose being a zookeeper as a business, and letting the animals starve to death isn't very good. That being said, they were in a middle of a war. Getting bombed. Workers weren't showing up, and neither were customers because of that war. Food for animals is much more expensive and sometimes harder to get than food for people. Of course he's going to feed himself over the animals, otherwise what was the point of opening the zoo to begin with? Honestly, I think the circumstance is that if the place is... oh, I don't know RAVAGED WITH WAR, maybe don't have a zoo there? Just a thought. And again, that's his problem, and he really should've been more responsible about it. But there are things about the situation that simply can't be ignored. He can't feed the animals, so what's he gonna do? Starve himself? Who precisely does that help? No one. That helps no one. He should've at least had someone else take over and not just abandoned the place, but I don't know what Gaza culture is like, so really, I'm not a good judge on this.

@@ofmindsoul1511 i think depending on the zoo some can be good. the zoos that keep their animals in the smallest spaces (like just a small cage with a concrete floor) and only provide the most minimal amount of food/care to keep them alive are horrible, but some zoos do care for their animals a lot and provide as much care and enrichment as possible for them. some animals can't be returned to the wild either because they were born in captivity, are injured and wouldn't survive, are extremely threatened/endangered to the point where zoos or other animal sanctuaries have to step in and create a breeding program away from poachers, etc. zoos have even managed to bring back species from the brink of extinction due to their breeding programs, if it weren't for them many more animals would have been extinct by now.

A real Zoo focuses on conservation of the animals, focuses on giving them realistic habitats, gives them enrichment so they can at-least have something similar to what they had in the wild, a real zoo takes care of their animals.
