@@LiskoLee Not every fight is about choreography, there is no fight this year that has match the intensity and emotions of Luffy v Kaido... When you grow up you will likely appreciate superior story telling over just pretty pictures moving. Also Zoro v King stomps anything you are thinking of as better in terms of choreography and art combined.

@@LLGTMT Yh I agree Zoro and king is the bes fight in one piece in my opinion I have no issues about that fight.

Yeah I’ve never watched one piece for the fight choreography and tactics involved in them, it’s usually pretty plain in that aspect. The other aspects of the show make up for it though, the buildup to the fights and the emotions behind it and the conflicting ideologies are always what make it worth watching. Seeing Luffy smile after taking down kaido and all the lights being shown in the sky is so satisfying to watch. Seeing everybody happy after all the suffering that kaido put them through, and Luffy finally coming out on top after losing a few times was amazing to see. gear 5 is literally the personification of freedom. It’s really meaningful for the story that oda is trying to tell.

Yes the animation eas beautiful but the fight sequences was repetitive it was just clashes and that’s it.

If you want choreography, i gotta be honest you're here for the wrong thing. Should never expect choreography on par with naruto fights. One piece fights are way more about the emotions and themes of fight. Gear 5 does just turn the fight into a cartoon, that's kinda the point. He literally just bounces after getting hit, making hits feel not as powerful. It's mostly just supposed to be fun.

I see, I will just enjoy it for what it is I guess👍🏾. I really do like what one piece I enjoy it a lot, the plot is really cool but I thought the fights would be like Naruto but I guess I was wrong lol.

@@LiskoLee What you want from the fight is understandable with all the stakes and hype that was built up. I want that choreography from fights too, but one piece is just different. After a 1000 episodes, you can't go in expecting the fight choreography to go too crazy. It might also be purposeful that luffy is just laughing when he should be serious. Could be a twisted side effect of gear 5/joyboy. who knows

Mang it's meant to look like Tom and Jerry, that's the entire point

@@LiskoLee like every other anime fight ever i love GEAR 5 oda is amazing at subverting expectations and i was skeptical but with the manga chapters of late am all for it GEAR 5 is awesome

@@LiskoLeeOda did state in an interview that when he was planning gear 5 he wants it to take more on a cartoonish style more than something serious. He mentions how nowadays manga artists would make super intense fights and need serious moves to win. He wants to bring back the good old Tom and Jerry vibe fight to be fun and where Oda can do whatever he wants.

Well just saying kaido’s character was all about him being the strongest and no one was strong enough, I think he held out hope that someone would be able to challenge and finally kill him because I’m only up to the anime but I’d like to say even people who could beat him couldn’t kill him. I’m not saying rocks or Roger or even garp couldn’t kill him but from where I am it would’ve been a benefit for characters to get rid of a monster that kaido was. But basically all I’m saying is Kaito just wanted Luffy to beat him, but also wanted to have a fair fight. Being how strong he was

I do think oda can do a lot more fight choreography in his fights rather than clashes. Oda can do it like with Zoro and Sanji fights he does fighting better

This has gotta be one of the worst takes I’ve heard in a while. It feels as if you’ve watched the fight through small clips here and there instead of the whole thing. Sure you can say it’s not your favorite fight or the best fight in OP, that’s completely fine, but to say it’s bad or just a bunch clashes and no actual fighting is ridiculous. Episodes like 1017, 1026, 1033, the fight leading up to G5, and every single moment G5 was onscreen disprove your argument. These are just some of the examples of choreography (people often mistake choreography with martial arts). Also, majority of OP fights aren’t just about the battles themselves it’s always structured in a way to emphasize the ideologies clashing & themes of the over-arching story.

Na I’ve seen the whole thing and that Kaido and Luffy fight was still underwhelming for me in my opinion but the animation for that fight is the best I’ve seen.

@@LiskoLee I can understand if it’s not your favorite fight, that’s your opinion after all and I can respect that. Even my favorite fight in OP and one of my favorite fights in anime in general is Katakuri vs Luffy. It’s just that some of the points you made in your video was out right wrong or disingenuous is all. But no hate towards you and hope your channel continues to grow.

It hurts me to say this cuz I love the anime so much but that fight should have been a lot better than it was.

1:30 - you DO know Kaido KILLED Luffy, right....? He got better, but Luffy in that moment was dead. Also, maybe the anime version is different from the manga, but KIdo is shown time and time again to be an honourable opponent looking for a fair and challenging fight, and even apologized to Luffy when Luffy got cheap shot by someone else, interrupting their fight.
