At first I thought sliding mitts were stupid until I got cleated and broke a small bone in my hand so after that I had to buy a sliding mitt and it had worked perfectly

he probably got cut off the jv team in 11th grade 😂

I use the thumb guard and it helps me have palms up to not hit grounders and it helps not ring me up

Off topic but I was a catcher and basically there’s this one tall batter like really tall and he was standing very far back in the box and he ended up swinging and he ended up hitting his bat against my arm, and I had to go with the rest of the inning just stopping the ball because I couldn’t close my hand . Watch out all the catchers out there

Sliding mits look goofy but have a very important purpose they keep your hand from being stomped on and putting you out for the rest of the season

Sliding mitts are used to protect your fingers from getting jammed or getting stepped on the base pass

The sliding mitt makes sure you don't get your hands stepped on with a cleats

2nd one is if someone got a concussion

In my league it's a rule that you need to wear an infielding mask. I do play softball so it would hurt a lot more to get hit in the face by the ball, to be fair.

1 for sliding so u don’t break a finger 2 for softball dummy 3 it is smaller than it looks and it is so that ur hands don’t sting

1 sliding mitt : is actually useful depending on what U your playing 2 face guard : are for (softball) players and they are required 3 thumb grip pro : they are used by most mlb players

The point of it is if you don't want to injure or break your fingers while sliding I actually hurt my finger really bad because of not having one stop being stupid they are not worthless.

First of all the first one is a sliding mit that prevents scratches on your hand when you slide so you don’t have to ruin your batting gloves while sliding.

Facemask is an advantage. You can miss the ball in your face and still make the play.

The THUMB PRO is a better version of the pro hitter used in MLB. Allows wrist to strap through the ball while preventing a death grip. Better b/c it doesn’t move around in the hand. That said, the little piece of silicone is crazy expensive to buy and lose.

Sliding mitt is not worthless it in fact saved my finger when sliding into home plate when catcher stepped on my hand it could’ve been really bad he was wearing spiked cleats

The only one that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense is the mask but the sliding mitt is so when the shortstop steps on you with his metal spikes it doesn’t break your fingers, and then a lot of mlb players are actually starting to use that thing that goes on your bat because if you hit the ball in the wrong spot on the bat with a ball coming 100 mph it’s gonna hurt like crazy

I used a thumb ring back in 2013, because i had a hairline fracture the year before. I remember thinking it was the best-known invention to help me not "babby" my thumb when i hit. Im glad it caught on.
