The World Turned Upside Down - English Anti-Commonwealth Ballad

This is a satirical English ballad written in the 1640's to protest the laws of the Commonwealth of England under Oliver Cromwell.
The Commonwealth was famous for banning Christmas because they believed it to be a pagan tradition and too Catholic.
This shares the same tune as 'When the king enjoys his own again'.
Performed by 'Maddy Prior & The Carnival Band'.
Movie: Cromwell (1970)

It is said this was played during the British surrender at Yorktown which did end the American revolutionary war and the ideas of that nation ultimately did turn the world upside down

@@Hibernica1641 aye indeed, the biggest problem is that there's no sort of organisation of the cause apart from the royal Stuart society(who do nothing) Me and quite a few people have been thinking of making a organisation, mainly around northern England, the pale, Virginia, the west country, and glenmorgan
