John Aasons recorded height is 7'2", but he definitely looks around the 8 ft mark in this video. I highly doubt he was as close to Robert Wadlow's 8' 11" mark without it being more televised.

This man was confirmed at a height of only 7 feet 2 inches, not 8 feet 2 inches. The two other men in this footage were barely 5 feet tall themselves, and the filmers used an early form of forced perspective to make him look even taller than he was.

Another example of do not believe everything you see or read on the internet, people either are mistaken or just make things up to get attention. This gentleman was an actor in silent films, and his name was John Aasen (not Aaeson). At his tallest (when measured at the time of his death, he had "shrunk" due to age and not being able to stand straight any longer) he was 7' 2".

Looks like he could be in the 8 foot or more category.. If he was 8'10 then he was 1.1 inches shorter then Robert Wadlow..who was 8'11.1.. But to be honest by looking at this video of him compared to Robert. I think he was really between 7"8 and 8'2..

My wife once met Manute Bol (at 7' 7", one of the two tallest men ever to play in the NBA). She was a little tongue-tied at his size; she asked him "Are you Manute Bol?" He smiled at her and said "Mother, I am seven feet seven inches tall. Who else could I be?"

This is not the tallest man ever, I'm sure the record books state someone being 8 ft 111/2 inches tall.

He looks particularly tall….and the two men particularly short.

His name was Aasen not Aason. If this was recorded 1925 he would have been 35 not 23. Could this be 1913? In 2008, his skeleton was measured at 7' 2.4" (219 cm) tall. Previous reports of his height ran as high as 8' 11½" (273 cm) and as low as 7' (213 cm) (according to one edition of Guinness World Records). Richard Kiel who played Jaws in James Bond was 218 cm. (just as a reference).

John Aasen was in the Harold Lloyd film "Why Worry?" in 1923, and the Our Gang short "Growing Pains" in 1928, among other things.

This must be exaggerated a little bit.. I’m sure this man was very tall but either way Robert Wadlow reached 8ft 11 inches. And with technology now I highly doubt that record will ever be broken

@@zombiefulci3301 no like literally Robert was growing at a constant rate of 1 to 2 inches a year but when he was in his teen years he shot up like 5 inches in one year, 4 inches the next. Even when he had a year to live he grew 4 inches and showed no signs of stopping. If he lived longer he could've grown 5 inches in one year or 3 inches in another, his growth was on a whole 'nother level then any other human on earth. If that's the case, it means the 2 tailors are approximately 4'1" since they are just about 1 head above Aason's mid section and a head is about 6" long. Doesn't make a lot of sense for him to be only 7'2" but that's just my 2 cents

@@oakinvestment5371 The shoes and the hat he is wearing probably adds 4+ inches to this apparent height. I would guess the tailors are under 5 foot tall, especially the one in the lighter suit. When he was 46 years old, John Aasen was medically measured at 7 feet 0.9 inches, although he could no longer stand completely straight by that point.

This man was not 8'10". If he was, that makes the other 2 men less than 4'5". They are more than half as tall as he is.

Well, they made him appear a bit taller as well as they used two pretty short people.

The step ladder is 3' making these 2 5' at best. The oversized hat is also used to make him seem even taller.

It's weird, in some photos this guy looked to be barely 7 feet tall, and in other (and in this video), he looks well over 8 feet tall. Even if the other guys in this video were VERY short men, 5 foot in height, Aason looks literally nearly twice as thigh as them.

it looks like the guys making the measurements are a bit shorter than average. i would guess they are each about 4'9" to about 5 feet tall.. i could tell by where their knees bend relative to the sitting chair. looks like if they sat on that chair their feet would not reach the ground.

I'm 76 & 'met' the then "Tallest Man in the World" in 1953, when I was age 7! He was, coincidentally, also English, i.e. Ted Evans, who claimed to be 8'5" tall. It was at Madison Square Garden, NYC & I took a ring from his finger, with his name, title & height on it, for $.50! I doubt that Evans or John Aason were their claimed heights!

In fact since nearly 200 yrs its easy to measure tall people exactly. I mean: If a "giant" in 1600 was called "3 meters" many people believed, now his bones is measured and he was 2,15 for real. In 1920 it wasnt a prob for Scientists or Medics to measure a "worlds tallest man" absolute exact. I never heard about a John Aason but i know Wadlow... In Wikipedia Aasen is named as one of the tallest actors ever (OK, seems legit) and his height was 2,18 m and thats nearly like Shaq. Big Frank came to my highschool as we sold their hotdogs at our football games. 23 years old !!!??? I think he fibbed a little bit on his resume'. That's the roughest looking 23 I've ever seen - unless giants use dog years. This guy is 40+ with his double chin, probable bald head (why won't he take his hat off?) and middle-age spread (paunch belly). Impressive anyway. thanks for the video.
