Did Jonas try learning the "hyper tapping" technique after this tournament, seeing how prevalent it has become in tournament play? Jonas Neubauer April 19, 1981 - January 5, 2021 Passing the torch to the new generations. Thanks for everything Jonas! Will remember you the most in October during CTWC....
I'm writting this as final game of ctcw 2018 ends. Jonas IS the best ambassador that Tetris could have ever asked for. Coming from a fan of Street Fighter and Dota2 events, Jonas is the equivalent of a Daigo or a Dendi. Shoutout to you, Jonas. You're the long bar that our tetris game has always wanted. PD: Shoutout to the whole community. I've watched through the whole year, it is a really heartwarming and welcoming community.

Sorry everyone I just realized that we talk about his trophy case at the start/end of the interview and you can't really see it in the video! You can see his trophy setup on his Twitch videos if you're curious: www.twitch.tv/nubbinsgoody/videos/all This was a fascinating conversation, thanks to Jonas for his time and see you all in Portland for the CTWC!

Thank you Jonas for being so awesome and humble. You will always be the people's champion.
miss u champ, i will play tetris forever in your name!
I've found myself watching a lot of Jonas stuff lately, because I really miss him and his twitch streams. This interview exemplified why I was really fond of Jonas as a person and a player. He was confident, but there wasn't ever really any *ego* to him. He had won 7 of the 11 world championships that he played in, and yet he was a sweet down to earth guy. He actively cared about making the community a good and safe place to be, and I really appreciated that about him. Its been nearly a year, and I really miss him.
I wish the CTWC trophy would be like a set, your first award would be an L block, then a J block, etc until the ultimate 7th trophy - the line piece.

From the start of game 1 of the finals, he clearly played much more dangerously. Jonas stacked suuuuper high and passed on tons of burn opportunities. I’m sure Jonas is one of the proudest of Joseph’s victory. Jonas had been ready for Koryan, but Joseph had the good fortune of learning some lessons from his matches against Koryan and Harry, and there had been a definite adaptation in play style.

To answer the video question. Jonas may very well be the greatest player on a retro game. Having said that though, I believe you need to be have accomplishments on more than one game. I give it to someone whose an all around great retro player, or at least to someone who has great accomplishments on 5 or 6 games.
