That truly is the saddest scene. Wallace is such a good boy, full of peace and compassion. He takes care of younger orphaned boys, giving them a home and food, getting them off to school. Evil Stringer is behind this killing. DeAngelo begged him not to order it, but Springer sent Poot and Bodie, his friends, to kill their friend.

Mason Gordan what are you, some kind of gangster? Wallace was a kind hearted, innocent kid born into a world that no kid should have to burden. His mother was later seen to be an addict with a nonchalant attitude when asked about her son's whereabouts, Wallace had no guidance in life apart from possibly D'Angelo who actually cared about him. Even Bodie and Poot are wrestling with their conscience in this scene, they don't want to really go though with it but are trapped within the game. This scene was so tragic and yet you're basically saying he deserved it...honestly

Perhaps the most intriguing scene in television or film history in my opinion. The back story of Wallace and the arc of his character being the real " parent to his young siblings, getting them off to school, making sure they have food and his long time friendships with Body and Poot make the scene all the more gripping. The look on Wallace's face before he is shot... a look of terror mixed with the complete disbelief that his homeboy's could do him this way is mesmerizing. His entire face quivering in fear was incredible acting. Like I said to me it was a pivotal moment in film history but thats just my opinion.

This scene was a message for kids. Stay away from the life because it carries a heavy price. Wallace joined the life, like so many young black people do, because he had nowhere else to go. He had a way out but went back because it was comfortable and familiar(that's why it was said he should've stayed in the country). If somebody would've told him what his demise could've been maybe he wouldn't back went back. The Wire is an awesome show because it not only doesn't fantasize the street life but also showed how the gang culture is rooted in racism and classism. Meaning the roots begin in the government. This show will forever be one of my all time favorites!

This scene makes me grateful for my culture and community. I don't know why black people are so violent. When my parents immigrated, their priority was getting jobs and making sure I and my sister focused on education and having a better life than them. We did that. Now that I have a great job, kids, house, and community, I can honestly say I don't want black people anywhere near it.

Nigh, that wasn't the reason Pooh took the last shot. That often happens so one won't snitch on the other. Since they both shot him, they're both just as guilty as the other. Therefore neither is going to use it as a bargaining tool to cut a deal if they ever get arrested for something else.

  • @K_Skywalker

This is honestly the saddest scene out of the whole show. What makes Wallace situation sad is that you could see the reaction on his friend's face. They didn't want to kill him. Poot even fights back tears because his eyes water up some. Bodie is literally shaken to the point he yells out things at Wallace but is really taking to himself. Also, Wallace was never confirmed to be a snitch, Stringer only told that to Bodie so that he would carry the hit out. But Stringer and the lawyer for the Barksdale organization didn't know if Wallace snitched, they thought he could potentially snitch based on him missing for the little while he was gone. That's why Wallace, the Security guard lady others were killed in this episode.

Yes he is a star and rightfully so but I haven't seen anything nearly as stunning from him since. Not his fault per se. Great roles do not come along every day even for the stars. Plus he moved into feature films as expected. The character development that you find in shows like the wire and others is not available in a 90 to 120 minute movie. Just not possible. But jordan absolutely nailed the complexity of life for a young man caught between the clutches of the drug game in Baltimore Maryland. Like I said I live here. Run these streets. Know players on both sides of the vicious game. His character was one of my favorites and the scene where he is murdered still is the best in film history but that just my opinion. Not fact.

That ain't saddest scene. Michael and Dukie saying goodbye is the saddest scene: Dukie: "You remember that one day summer past when we threw them piss balloons at them terrace boys? You remember, just before school started up again? You know, I took a beatdown from them boys. That was a day! Ya'll bought me ice cream off the truck. You remember, Mike?" Michael: [quiet voice] "I don't." Dukie: "See ya 'round, Mike." Michael: "See ya, Duke." And then Dukie goes off to be a junkie and Michael the next Omar. And the game goes on...

Les009 Kenard will be the next Chris. Michael is the next Omar, because Omar had a code. He didn't believe in killing nobody who wasn't in the game or really a threat to his procedures. Notice how Michael kept asking Chris and Snoop questions about their process and why they had to kill certain people. He had character, a code. He didn't mind putting in work, but he wanted to be fair. That's Omar all day. The real question is, did Michael turn gay? He did have that younger boy with him at the end during the robbery, so it's kinda left in the air.
