The Willows - Algernon Blackwood

Image: mgkellermeyer.deviantart.com.
A real classic and a favorite of the form. The atmosphere is something else.
I think there's a bit of crackling at a few points. I did my best to remove it but wasn't able to entirely. I think my mic is dying, folks, it's DYING.

I really like your voice and tone. Neither overacting, neither bored.

Beautifully narrated: great voice and diction , and touch of drama as required to bring the story to life. The Willows is a classic of American horror literature just as Casting The Runes is the classic of English horror genre. Well read, thank you!

I listen to the comments since that weren't that many and it seems a lot of people were fans of this book prior to your reading it hats off to them this was one that went under my radar screen I've heard of the author of course but not of the book I was really glad to listen to it and another comment there said that you know you are narration is really good so hats off to you again plus you're narration was top of the top of the line not that I'm an expert but you know I thought it was just like another type of audible book or something anyway everyone stays safe sincerely yours, Bob the blind bedroom guitarist

Embarrassing as it is for me to admit I've still never read any Hodgson. I really ought to make some time for him.

Thee Landstander The House on the Borderland is too long for you to read in a video, but it it is a stunning masterpiece of weird fiction that you shouldn't miss. There is a new recent edition out this year by Swan River Press that looks gorgeous.

I loved this story. It was beutyfull and intense. My favourite this was the fact it was so out of place I could immagine it happening at any point of history in the last 1000 years. I'm still not sure, but I feel it was somewere in the middle of the 20th century, but I could be wrong. Thank you for your reading 😊

Thank you for this upload appreciated it never read or listened to actually any of his books. Although I've heard of him the ending was kind of you know what the hell period did they get off the island did the creatures consume them and then make a lampshades or clothes out of this skin what happened. I was very it was very interesting through listen to the book from I googled it from 1907 and it was very very modern in its vernacular. I mean you just go back 20 years and you know read or listen to some of the books from then and there's lots of ejaculating going on and if you are a reader of all the stuff you'll understand the context that's it not going to explain it anyway I'm going to look into some more books from him if there's any on KZread and that's it excuse typos grammatical areas all that kind of stuff are you speech to text it has its own take on the English language LOL I happen to be blind cecilia's, Bob the blind bedroom guitarist Cecilia Bob the blind bedroom guitarist guitarist guitarist

A dying mic is a great excuse to buy a better one. Speaking of, I'd be interested in seeing your recording process and equipment. That said, great choice and constantly high quality narration.

I really don't have much a process. I record and edit with Audacity. I settle in with my book or webpage or whatever and usually record in one go. Then I go back over and edit. Probably not the most efficient way to do things I'm starting to realize (especially with a long story like this one). Editing is pretty minimal, mainly just cutting out mistakes, noise reduction, and normalizing. Sometimes I compress (I did with this one), but then other times it sounds worse to me so I go back and forth on that. This is something I want to get better at, really understanding what I'm doing with Audacity and how to improve the sound quality. This is my current mic and only equipment. I've been pretty pleased with it considering the price. I got it about a year ago when I started really putting some effort into the channel. www.amazon.com/Fifine-Microphone-Condenser-Recordings-KZread/dp/B01D4HTIOY/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1525750219&sr=8-6&keywords=microphone
