The wildest one you missed -- Robert Clary actually was in Auschwitz when he was a child.

He still had his tattoo number on his arm. That's why he always wore long sleeve shirts. The scare on the general face is real. He got it from the ss.
This is my favorite show. Far more humorous and intelligent than any of the bullshit that has come out of my generation.

Same! Been binge watching it every night
Robert Clary survived Auschwitz. Noting he last saw his mother being taken away to be killed when he was just a child. Many actors who appeared throughout the show served during the war too.
The thing about the Klink and Shultz characters is that they weren't even necessarily Nazis but go along to get along career servicemen
Fun fact: Warner K only accepted the role if Klink NEVER won, and I mean never. In season two, some of the writers started feeling bad for Klink, especially because the actor was such a nice guy. Every time they tried to insert even a tiny victory for Klink, Kempler would go ballistic and soon the writers quit trying. Compare (and contrast) Klink with Major Burns in M*A*S*H - even Frank won some battles. Klink never did.
It's amazing to you that Jewish actors wanted to play Nazis as fools? Not really hard to understand...
Greetings from Germany! I love this Show! In the german voiced Version Klink has a "cleaning lady" called Frau Kalinke! They made up wohle Storys about she what she does for klink in the night and so on but of course only in conversation between klink and Hogan or Schultz...😅
Funny you should mention MASH, a fair number of MASH actors previously did bit parts in H.H.
The frenchman labeau was also

Theyre not talking about any specific episode, just the series.
Most interesting.
An the little French guy was in a concentration camp he lost almost his hole family. I think he had 10 brothers and sisters and only him and 2 other siblings survived
Stalag 17 much?
Nearly all actors playing Germans in the show were Jewish. Who better to make the nazis look like fools.
