The Whole Art of Book-Binding | Peter Cottom (1824)
In this video we explore one of the rare items in our collection entitled The Whole Art of bookbinding: containing Valuable Receipts for Sprinking, Marbling, Colouring, &c. This book, published in 1824 by Peter Cottom, was the first manual on bookbinding printed in America, after the first 1811 British manual, with “considerable additions.” Massey College now owns the only (known) copy in Canada
