My older brother went to this show, said the whole atmosphere sucked after that. I went to see the Who a couple years later at Vets Stadium, I was expecting so much but it was one of the less impressive shows I've even been to. Still love to listen to them, regardless.

I was playing this song over and over real loud in my room when I was a kid and my stepdad opened the door and yelled "Turn this sh*t off!". I turned the volume down at first, but I gradually turned it up over an hour or so. He burst into my room and picked up my stereo and smashed it on the ground - and it didn't turn off! He tried again and it kept on playing - even louder! This went on for about 5 minutes and he eventually gave up. He's in prison now for writing bad checks.

LOL - I listened to plenty of loud R&R in the 80's when I was young. I remember my dad walking into my room when AC/DC was jamming "I'm a problem Child" and he would say yes you are. I remember him looking at the Jim Morrison poster on my wall with the denim shirt and aviators, and him saying to me "I worry that you like him". I remember him looking at my Cheap Trick poster and telling me Rick Neilson looks like a fag lol. Old men just don't get it. Thankfully I get constant praise from my two grown sons for remaining very cool and up with the times.

1982, hell I was already well into my 20s.....Thanks to my older brother who introduced me to The Who, LZ, Cream, and other great bands when I was in ELEMENTARY school, I was already a HUGE Who fan. Now? I'm ancient. Somehow along the way, I blew out my liver, survived a mild bout with cancer, and bested two heart attacks. I like to think that these boys and their High-Test piss-and-vinegar music helped me along the way. Now I am old and just wealthy enough to own a wonderfully outrageous stereo system that I could only dream about in high school. So, I get to enjoy it all over again and exactly the way it was SUPPOSED to sound. I sure do hope my neighbors like them. Thanks Gents!

Both of my parents were alcoholics and my good old mom abused pain medication and drank like a f...ing fish as well as my good old dad...parents....yeah right. I feel my connection with you. Robert Corso Just what I was gonna say. I wish they showed him more than for just 3 or 4 seconds right at the very end. He adds so much to the music. Daltrey is sitting there looking goofy playing the same couple of notes over and over just so he has something to do, meanwhile he gets like half the exposure here.

Pete is a monster guitar player and I love his intensity. However, there were a few other great players at Woodstock, including Hendrix and Mr. Santana. I think Carlos' 50-year career has been amazing. Only the Rolling Stones and Santana have had a Top Ten album in SIX different decades. That's pretty impressive. This is meant only to show that great guitarists like Santana, Townshend, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Al DiMeola, Hendrix, Clapton and others compliment each other. They're not in competition. One is not greater than the other. We all have our favorites and yours, Pete Townshend, is among the best!

@@RonH714 I agree with you, Ron. It's a solid album from the opening note. Bargain, My Wife, Getting in Tune, and Going Mobile are great tunes--four of the band's all-time best. So infectious. And powerful. I only saw The Who one time and that was on the 'Who's Next' tour. I love 'Quadraphenia' (more than 'Tommy'), but 'Who's Next' is my personal fave! Largely for the sophisticated songwriting.

26 years old here born in the mid to late 1990s. My earliest memories are riding in my dads 1993 dodge pickup truck blaring THE WHO on the cassette deck, the cars, tears for fears, guns n roses, phill Collins, Steve earl, the list goes on. So many older people are amazed at what I listen to. Strictly 70s 80s 90s music. This kind of music has a soul, not made to make money. Times were different and I am jealous of every person who go to experience the 1980s as an adult such a magical time it seemed to be from the outside looking in. It’s a put on.

@@BruceMcKinley Speaking of Hendrix, there's also this absolute belter: Hendrix blew into a version of [Howlin’ Wolf’s] ‘Killing Floor’,” recalls Garland, “and plays it at breakneck tempo, just like that - it stopped you in your tracks.” Altham recalls Chandler going backstage after Clapton left in the middle of the song “which he had yet to master himself”; Clapton was furiously puffing on a cigarette and telling Chas: “You never told me he was that fucking good.”

He was really peaking and I really like his reedy voice! Not great but good and unique! You know it’s him! And he looked rejuvenated for his Solo tour! His hair still looked good even! 👏🏻
