Yeah definitely he gets his own sound because he's using little Fender Reverb amp 50 Watts through a PA He has a great ear to get that sound down and that's why he doesn't sound like any other band Super original I love his sound and with Meg so perfect

They give me this weird feeling that this is how rock was supposed to be done all along.

When you have Jimmy Page and The Edge taking master classes from you, you know you're doin' sumpin' right :-)

Honestly, there is no place better to hide from a crowd than behind someone like Jack on stage. 😋 I have an anxiety disorder, and I used to perform with a musician whose presence completely dominated the room. Backing him up on stage was the perfect spot to be - I got to go out to the club and enjoy the music without anyone paying attention to me and without being in the crowd.

I'm old enough and I have no excuse. I'm pretty ashamed that I never got really into this band until recently. I always knew about them and knew all they're singles are awesome, but for some reason I never got around to buying an album or seeing them live. The only good thing is that now I have a lot of good music I haven't heard yet. And don't worry, I'm sure you'll get a chance to see them live.

Yeah, hopefully. I saw Jack White 3 years ago when he was on tour with one of his solo albums and it was really impressive, but I prefer the music he did a TWS.

Olaf Sikorski I'm old enough to remember seeing them in 2000 when their first album De Stijl came out. Saw them in a dingy bar in New York Meg White had a bad case of stage fright and was being hazed all night. All new bands go through it. Who knew a few years later they would explode and Meg's crappy drumming would be cool.

Koi Mies Profeetta De stijl isn't their first album. They released their first album "The White Stripes" in 1999 and they started in 1997

Rush imo were a fantastic rock band. They strived for perfection. White Stripes imo have better songs than Rush played in a DIY punk fashion. Jack is a great musician but comparing him to Alex Leifson is like saying a banana is better than an orange.

These two freak me out! How did they FIND each other ? Did they INVENT each other or did they bring those two skill sets together or did fate unite them? . . . JACKS stuff is SO unique theres nothing like it anywhere...its rock,grunge,fusion,country delta..southern hillbilly twang ..and all kinda styles all in one.its WHITE STRIPES. Jack is a fantastic player..hes just all over the place and only HE and meg know the pattern he follows? Certainly he has his own sound..and the singing as well...so himself its trippy.all that with two people i love THAT too. And i love MEG ! ..shes one of my FAVORITE drummers! Shes a drummer not a "percussionist" like they all try to be now...old school! And no huge "guns" but her authourity of her BEATS..... beats any of em she hits the skins perfect for me! So cute in that red sweater too.....😀😼🤘

What can I say? I could list a huge list of legends that have probably had some influence on this man, & their differences but I'm far too busy watching him carve his name into music history forever.

They were the greatest band of a decade. Meg polished to the perfect that simple straight kick, jack played those years like the one other guy from Detroit. Both they did the loudest group in the world. Wanna be surprised by level of noise by just two people listen LIGHTNING BOLT

I just recently discovered this band and cannot get enough!!! The style and uniqueness is 2nd to none. I think this is the last great rock n roll band before rap took over.

His main pedals are the electro harmonix big muff, the digitech whammy (which he uses for the high pitched solos) and the MXR micro amp. He also uses the electro harmonix POG for some of his songs.

Jack is awesome in his own right but Jonny greenwood is out of his class , don’t get me wrong it’s all about making noises that resonate so much that u have to get them out..speaking of which I just remembered I need a xylophone pronto and toys r us somehow disappeared in these parts and I can’t steal one of Amazon either so wat was I saying again???

i witnessed Stripes 13 times. Jack.total of 15 performances. Wrapped my arms around Meg Once. I am content.

I grew up listening to a lot of The white stripes. They had a great influence on me musically and I love them very much. Jack White unique sloppy guitar playing is a thing of beauty almost similar to J.Hendrix and J.Page sloppy guitar playing. Thanks for all the great memories!!!

If you haven't already, check out "The White Stripes - Under Blackpool Lights" on DVD. Their best concert recording IMO. You can find a used copy on Amazon for around $15. It has some of the best performances including the best version of Black Math I have seen or heard. You can find some clips on YT if you look hard enough, but a lot are missing. jack speeds up and slows down a lot, changes his intensity a lot. can especially see it on death letter live. she manages to keep the timing right when hes improvising on the spot. they face each other when doing this which looks super intense, he gives little signals to her to keep the pace right. love her

Thank god for the big day out as I would have never seen this magic couple of individuals I was go smacked and have not had a musical experience so unexpected! I went absolutely mental 😇🤪🤘

I got to see them live four times all up, in venues from small band rooms to headlining massive festivals. They were magic each time.

Oh I'm not even talking about pedals and stacks and that signature high squeal, I'm just talking about the combination of JW having such a unique and, at least to me, complex style, and me being so shitty on guitar. I've been playing since '94, but if I'm not playing power chords, it's probably gonna sound like rubbish. I was sitting here earlier, wondering if I could play a proper "B" chord! But I don't even know what a B chord is! Wait! I'm on the interweb. It's research time!

I used to hang cds on my wall and enjoyed the artwork. There was many that didn’t have the band’s name on them nor names of the songs, no way to identify the cd. I used to play two of them frequently and loud. I would play them when people came over hoping someone would know who it was. Back then you couldn’t just play songs and have your phone identify it in seconds. Unfortunately, by the time I figured out it was The White Stripes they had broke up. Thank God for You Tube so I can watch and listen to them live, since I was unable to see them live.

Meg White the cutie who barely talks and is very shy but can pound the drums and Jack White who’s from Detroit but I could swear he’s like a British Jim Dandy. Who could have predicted this unique pair would come out of Detroit and rock the World 🌎 for 10 years? Nobody could have.
