Their ability to be a band after they got divorced has to go down in history. You can see their connection on Little Ghost when they are looking each other in the eyes and smiling singing the song. Such chemistry and were able to keep it going and have that connection straight through the music. Honestly gives me chills. They are the best ever.

@@herc_ules_therealone Fleetwood Mac were a band before Stevie Nicks even joined the group, you realize that, right? When she joined people hated it, they didn't think it was the same band anymore. Looking back now we see Nicks as being synonymous with the band, but they were a huge band for a few years before she joined. All I'm saying though is that they existed before Nicks, and would have existed after, had they not kept it together as they did.

I wouldn't call myself a fan of the White Stripes, but I have a real soft spot for them after they played a show in Iqaluit, the capital of Canada's northern Nunavut territory. I can't say with absolute certainty, but I suspect they are the only major label act to have ever played a show there, and it was a big deal for the community. Jack and Meg showed a tremendous amount of respect to the Inuit that live there, both in playing the show and sitting with elders to hear stories of the people. They sure as heck didn't make much money doing a show for 600 people given the cost of getting there. You gotta love people that are that generous with themselves.

LIKE u could still see them from shore, but not hear that well. I'd give ANYTHING to hear the full version of Jack covering CATFISH blues. Warren Haynes in Gov't Mule covered that song...and just ripped on that song. Easily one of the best, guitarists still playing from another generation...

Every drummer gets compared to about five drummers, every guitarist gets compared to about five guitarists, every singer has to be as good as five performers. Its crazy, I thought social media would go the opposite direction, but maybe the tiktok generation will change that. Ours is too used to record companies choosing a few bands, engineering and producing them to daeth, and thats what all music is compared to. Nobody can just listen and go "thats nice" and be happy with good music, it has to be the greatest thing ever. Certainly thats the impression you get off youtube. So they had been divorced for 5 years when this was made, it's remarkable the chemistry that still existed between the two of them. Meg's drumming is amazing, it's her I watch most in this and other vids. I think her drumming is like early Dylan's harmonica playing...lacking technique but full of feeling and passion, so unique & personal...and it works perfectly.

I enjoyed this video. It took me many years before I listened them. That’s a lot of entertainment from just 2 people. I applaud them for whipping me up with excitement and intrigue. I started to practice rudiments when I was 12. I never got a set of drums until I was 19. I never had lessons, but I had my fun with them. I sold the set to a rehearsal studio because we had to move. So for 30 years no set. Out of sight out of mind. But I always slapped my knees to the songs I heard on the radio. Fast forward to 5 years ago at 50 and husband bought me an electronic set. I was over joyed. I started practicing and playing to music I liked on KZread. An old friend comes over and for fun he plays his guitar and we jam. A few months later he asks me to join his band. So as of last year Sept. we have a 7 piece band and I’m still pinching myself. We recorded 11 songs and …..I’m still pinching myself. We are not metronomed or clicktracked. We are organic and flawed and beautifully magic. When you feel everyone’s vibe and in the magic zone that’s all that matters. Lots of laughs and the camaraderie is like a family really. Now, whenever we attempt to play live for an audience I will remember the comments I’ve heard here on this KZread video. I won’t be, and am not discouraged, but it’s really sad to hear so many people dissing others who are having fun and playing what feels right for themselves. Why all the put downs? There could be a video or picture of the sky and people will argue whether the sky is blue, green or purple. It is subjective, everyone has their own take, all our realities are different from each other’s. To say someone is awful or sucks, by always comparing, comparing, apples to oranges? If all fruit were oranges then we’d never know how good an apple was. Two of the lowliest traits to have as a human being are “disrespect” and/or “jealousy” of a fellow human beings achievements. Attacking their self expression is nuts. Each and everyone of us is special and we all add our creativity and passion to this world. Life is so much more interesting when we strive to be ourselves, and not make art for others but to let ourselves be free to create what feels good for our liking. That’s when things are organic and tasty.

Speaking as a drummer, watching and listening to Meg it is clear she has excellent technique. Her stick control, dynamics and time keeping are all very good, and her musicality is very evident. There’s nowhere to hide in an outstandingly successful two piece. The naysayers have mistaken simplicity for easy; they are very different things. She is a pro drummer with a unique voice, and she’s got y’all fooled 🙂

It's easy to fool the ignorant that don't understand that genius is in the creative process not in technique like everyone thinks. That's why basic playing like this is esteemed and loved and a Van Halen cover band is nothing special even though they have excellent technical ability. Everyone chases technical levels thinking that's where the genius is.

@@Bapuji42 look up octaver pedal. That's the secret to this sound. Basically takes what jacks playing, pitches it up or down an octave (can be adjusted in settings) and adds it to the signal. So basically you have what jack is playing and also a sound from the pedal that's an octave lower. Add some fuzz and then you have a thick ass jack white sound.
