Lyrics:
It's quite possible that I'm your third man, girl
But it's a fact that I'm the seventh son
It's quite possible that I'm your third man, girl
But it's a fact that I'm the seventh son
And right now, you could care less about me
But soon enough, you will care by the time I'm done
Let's have a ball and a biscuit, sugar
And take our sweet little time about it
Let's have a ball, girl
And take our sweet little time about it
Tell everybody in the place to just get out
We'll get clean together
And I'll find me a soapbox where I can shout it
Now read it in the newspaper
Ask your girlfriends and see if they know
Read it in the newspaper
Ask your girlfriends and see if they know
That my strength is ten fold girl
I'll let you see it if you want to before you go
Let's have a ball and a biscuit, sugar
And take our sweet little time about it
Let's have a ball
And take our sweet little time about it
Tell everybody in the place to just get out
We'll get clean together
And I'll find me a soapbox where I can shout it
And I can think of one or two things to say about it
Alright, listen
Alright, you get the point now?
It's quite possible that I'm your third man, girl
But it's a fact that I'm the seventh son
It was the other two which made me your third
But it's my mother who made me the seventh son
And right now, you could care less about me
But soon enough, you will care by the time I'm done
Yeah, you just wait
You stick around
You'll figure it out

I bought all their albums, but I still used to scour the file sharing networks for live bootlegs. Every performance was different and original, played with first time intensity. They were amazing live in the early 2000s. I saw them at the Greek in 2003 and I’ve never seen a better show.

Jack White is like all the rockstars wraped up in one person.
Jack really understood the guitar on a professional and almost primal level. People talk about how he can be sloppy sometimes, or how Meg isn't the greatest drummer, but being clean isn't the point. These two had chemistry, and thats what musicianship ia all about, feelin it.

I think this video is from the tour to support the release of Elephant, which is one of the first albums you should be checking out. It’s White Stripes in their prime. I saw them at the Greek in 2004, I lucked into front row seats. It was the best live show I’ve ever seen (narrowly beating Radiohead/Supergrass around the same time). L.A. audiences are usually lame, lukewarm, jaded, but Jack quickly brought them around. I think it’s fair to say that Jack White re-imagined the guitar sound, combining the threads of earlier pioneers and innovators and putting his own spin on it. The sounds the band produced on stage were thick and juicy, raw and beefy, despite the two person line up. The few minimalist songs they did are what you might expect from such a spare line up, but the majority of the music they produced is maximum rock and roll. There’s a documentary featuring White, Jimmy Page, and The Edge (from U2) that might interest you.

I don't what it is, but Meg's drumming is addictive. I understand that I lot of people don't like it because the band is too simple, but fuck that. They are a punk and blues band, what do you expect. Jack White is a genius. I've been a guitar player for 40 years. Jack plays mostly blues scales but heavily distorted. It's his phrasing and timing that's unique. It's out of the box thinking. He reminds me of Jimi Hendrix sometimes, but Jimi never never had the throttle to the floor. I got to see Jack White play at a bar in Lubbock, TX in 2014, and I just stared at him the whole show, trying to understand him -- FAIL. His music is so far ahead of the times; he won't be fully appreciated until he dies -- like most artists. I would love to talk music with him for a weekend.
