aww i love rosamund pike here! she’s the beating heart of the show. ill keep watching as long as she’s there. she’s so exciting to watch!

The opening with Lews therin is so much better, sorry to say it. Just sets up so much, with foreshadowing, without becoming blatant exposition

Did anyone else catch the major continuity issue in the scene where Liandrin is walking down the man, about to castrate his powers? One cut, hes kneeling at 2:28, all fours at 2:34, kneeling again at 2:36, all fours at 2:39... COME ON AMAZON

Tbf humans do move, I’m pretty confident about that, it’s possible we can fill the gaps between screen time in our imagination to make it fit make sense, We don’t need another JK Rowling wizard fecies fiasco when the trivia and ins and sours go too far

They're likely remenants from the Age of Legends, which was thousands of years before the story takes place, but thousands of years after our current timeline

*WATCH* the first minute with playback speed *.75!* The slight slowness makes the opening monologue more powerful!

Love the show. This screen was a fail though. The prequel in EOTW is amazing and that's where it should start.

Yea just opening on Rand and Tam walking would have been iconic. But every adaptation needs its changes so I take it in stride.

@@TheEmpressReborn Yea I know, the Lews Therin would've been incredible as well. It's just that any normal organic scene would've been preferable to immediate spoken exposition imo

The annoying and bizarre thing is they even filmed a version of the prologue which is the first of the Origins episodes and then hid it away amongst those shorts. WHY????? They could have literally added it to the start of the first episode.

So, is Dragon the villain? They call him the man who brought the breaking of the world? But I find conflicting information that says he isn't but this makes him seem like he is.

He both saved the world an broke it completely at the same time. People mostly seem to remember the breaking and not the saving :)

Watch the first of the Origins shorts, which should have been the first scene. It basically explains everything

I loved the scene of Liandrin gentling that man. It showed new viewers the Red Ajah's institutional misandry and book readers that the Reds are still breaking Tower law as they did with Owen fifteen years earlier. What a pity that one of the few genuine highlights came so early and that most of episode 1 then went so far downhill after this.

He will finally fall for Nynaeve ( the healer of the village ) and marry her later after some difficulties ... if they follow the book plot that is. He's Moraines sworn bodyguard ( although it's quite weird to take a bath with your work partner imho ).

Yea immediately being drowned in exposition in the first scene worries me about some of the decision making for the show. Just any scene that introduced any of the characters would probably have been better I think. I'm hoping this was just a bit of a fluke.

Bit heavy on ‘messaging’ and thin on interest- I wasn’t engaged with the characters at all. Some of the visuals were very accomplished. May persevere in the reasonable hope that it will improve.

Why would anybody try to adapt those books? I never thought it was that type of popularity The books started well but definitely became meandering and unwieldy around book 7. I stopped reading at 10 which I think is the last book Jordan completed. In my opinion it had lost its way by trying to make everybody a story of their own. To do the 12 books any credit they would need at least 12 seasons of 12 episodes minimum. Look at the mess made with Dune over the years.

If you order GOT from wish. Acting is stilted and the story is a little boring. Not rubbish, not great. Adequate.
