Set in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists and only certain women are allowed to access it, the story follows Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. There, she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity.

Honestly, this show suffers from passing. They don't know what to skip, what to keep. The first season was kinda good because it made the right choices. But the fatal flaw here is that they skipped Fal Dhara, the shouldn't have cured mat in this first season, hence the pursuit of Fain can happen and Rand's character changes can be shown as well as his powers and the introductions of other worlds and Tel Enrhiod using Perrin. They could have skipped the random lord and the firework incident while still portraying Lanfear correctly, because wtf did they do with her ?! Honestly, they could have skipped her altogether when we look at what we got . They could have kept her in Tel An' Rhiod to interact with Rand, could have been a way to explore tbe dreams as well. And the Seanchians , bruh 😭. I'll pass on them, it wasn't so bad as it may seems, it principally lacked in epic grandeur .And then, Moraine, ok if you want to cripple her , do it but then don't heal her rn. It shouldn't be even a thought as in the books it is said that even in the Age of legend they didn't know how to do it .But they shouldn't have cut her form the saidar, because how the heck will she be able to kill the forsaken in the heart of stone ? Well anyway, they read the book diagonally, skipped the characters change and the different realms introduction, but it is fine 😊😢😭💀🗿

@randomness2k027 a little different is fine, but when you're messing up the LITERAL MAGIC SYSTEM, giving huge character moments to the wrong person, inventing fake wives just to kill them and outright missing the entire point of the entire story it's a bit frustrating. They were free to make a new story if they wanted, but instead they took an extremely popular story and just shredded it. The original author Robert Jordan died a few years ago, Brandon Sanderson finished the last book which he turned into three books because there was so much to cover and he was so invested in giving it a proper ending. Now on live streams hes literally almost on tears telling people "I'm so sorry. I tried really hard to make this show good. They won't listen to me."

imagine if Lord of the Rings was the same quality as Rings of Power... no one would have gotten interested in the most incredible fantasy world there is. Wheel of Time is the same Way. WoT is second only to LOTR in terms of story and thus the WoT show isn't as good as it could be. It could be on the same level of hype as Dune or Game of Thrones S1-5, but its not and its sad. People will think the story was okay when in reality its pure perfection. The show is "fine" but it could be "perfect" with more budget and loyal writers, but NOW another adaptation attempt will likely never happen for at least 30 years, which you have to admit is sad.

Because, if the showrunners wanted to tell their own story, they should do that. Come up with your own setting, world, etc and do it instead of bastardizing a story because it has a known name and a built in audience. That's what I never get about these loose adaptations where they just do what they want and coat it with the wrappings of the original story. If executives buy the rights to an IP and value it due to its name recognition with a built-in audience, why would you alter the story so heavily? This one is not as bad as Rings of Power on the bad adaptation scale, but too many unnecessary changes, imo. And yes, some of us would rather the show was done to a higher set of expectations than have been done at all. That said, if you are enjoying it. Enjoy it. There's a reason why we get upset - same with other adaptations (LOTR, Shannara): If you're going to honour something by adapting it onto the screen, honour it by adapting it rather than belittling it by making demonstrably bad changes by comparison.
