My wife is pretty much 'show only ' . Thr Lanfear reveal landed really hard for her. She mentioned that the KNEW something was up with Selene. Especially because I would snicker every time she was around. And I've read the series probably 8 or 9 times now.

I do LOVE this season so far (as a non-book reader); and I genuinely baffled by the hate it gets from most book readers 🤔

I have enjoyed the show too (reader) but in all honesty would prefer less of the lan/moiraine arc and more time with mat/perrin etc.

For me it's how they break there own line of logic in the story. I'm a fan of the books but some of the best scenes they adapted where the most different from the book itself. The rest just feels like it not only betrays the characters but is not even consistent in the show itself.

Absolutely loved this episode, so many of the changes this season have renewed my faith that the showrunners know what they're doing and why they're making the changes. Casting also has knocked it out the park.

After all Rand wanted Moiraine to teach him how to channel. The next best thing she can do is finding someone for him. Moitaine is turning into assassin with that knife. I love her courage and determination. Such a nice setup between her and Lanfear….

I didn’t think anything about Selene until she saw him channel and wasn’t freaked out

Loving ur review. I am really glad that u r not unreasonably critical and keep picking out every single thing that’s different compared to the book. Hate that this amazing show is receiving so much hate.

Rand didn't say she loved Selene. That is totally what she heard though.

Yes this was a great episode. The stuff with perrin and elyas was the best part in my opinion. How they showed the wolf communication was so awesome. How the images were more. How perrin always described it in the books as visions of an action or a place. Hopper is just a condensed version of a wolf jumping because they want to fly like the birds...I means chills??I really wish they would quit with the fake out deaths though. I almost thought they might be advancing moiraines plot and just cutting out the red stone doorways, which may still happen, but even forsaken can die by a knife to the heart and having their throat slashed. Come on. Anyways, that's my only gripe. I did pick up on the Saa in lanfears eyes as she channeled the true source from the dark one. Non book readers would have no clue what that means. But it was a nice touch and looked amazing. Looks like they are going to all make it to Falme!! We are getting book 2 and it's exciting! I'm getting ready to listen to your predictions video so more comments there I'm sure.

As a non book reader I knew something was off with Selene/Lanfear. This book has so many twists and turns.

I'm a show-only fan. The highlight of the show for me is Nyneive channeling the one power inside the arches. Being the first to do it.

Show watcher here. I knew something was up with Selene from the get go. I had a feeling she was just trying to seduce him but WOW - didnt expect THAT! Also, Moiraine is ice cold! What a badass!

I think no mention of Elaida yet because we haven't been to Caemlyn and at this point she was adviser to Morgase. and not in the Tower.

Book reader, here. I knew something was off with Selene. ;) All jokes aside, I am loving this season. I wonder, like you said, if they're going to combine Liandrin and Elaida. I hope they don't because I want to see the Tanchico scenes, and I don't think that will happen if the two characters are combined. I did notice they combined Verin and Vandene, and I highly approve!

It's rumored that the Elaida actress has already been cast so I think it's safe to say we will see her next season red ❤️

So far no mention of Elaida, book changes in the idea that Moiraine's nephew is engaged to the queen and Lanfear is out there walking the earth ALIVE. If anyone has theories drop them in. I'm really enjoying all things Cairhien. Fingers crossed for more game of houses 🤞

My SHOW theory is that Moiraine’s sister could be a darkfriend. She recovered the house from near destruction and is now comfortable again. That’s kind of how you spot some of the darkfriends in the books, so that’s why I suspect her.

As a non-book reader, I loved this episode as the entire s2 so far, can’t wait for next week’s release. During the speech of Selene to Rand I started to figure out that unfortunately she wasn’t who she claimed and might be the one release by Ishmael, which sadly was true. I’m very curious to see what happens next. + Curious / confused - is Lyandrin sided with Ishmael ? Couldn’t understand it

What confused me is the timeline, showing Ishmael releasing her, in the beginning I thought was in the present but as I said, in the middle of the episode during her speech over the mountain, things started to make sense, it was a cool plot twist for me and even cooler when Moraine appeared there. Sadly Lanfaer isn’t good, but who knows, maybe she will fall in redemption on her final moments ? As Vader did in SW 😂

I'm a Selene fan which probably says something about my issues... I probably should have felt Moraine was saving him instead of feeling like she interrupted what could have been a great relationship for Rand. I'm assuming she wasn't trying to kill him so that was about to be an interesting love scene between two channelers. I feel robbed!

I really thought Selene was an innocent cougar. The moment the reveal came my mouth dropped to the floor. She really seemed like she cared for rand and a forsaken wouldn’t have treated him as loving and kind as she did. Since you already knew she was lanfear from the books it is why you didn’t enjoy the reveal as much but as a non book reader I never saw that coming and it was a great twist

I recognized that there was something off from Selene/Lanfear from the beginning, I just thought she would turn out to be a dark friend, not being a reader of the series. She came across as a clingy girlfriend and hiding her awareness of Rand.

I figured something was up with Selene because she was waaaaaay too interested in Rand and waaaaaay too invested in him. (I'm not a book reader)

A solid episode for me, LOVED seeing hopper! But i think they are spending too much time on side stories (such as lans relationship with moiraine) and not enough with major characters such as mat. Overall a 7/10 for me.

Hopping Mat gets some good moments in the second half 📯 same with Perrin.

When you do your Liandrin/Elaida merge theory video, don't forget to add an argument about why we should disregard the evidence from Rafe that he isn't going to do that. It's in the ~26 minute video from one of the cons earlier this year. He said Elaida is one of his fav characters (so strike one against her being merged) and he loves that there are shades of gray and that she is a bad person who isn't a darkfriend (so strike two against a merger with a darkfriend character). So, not explicitly confirming Elaida's in the show, but I'd be very surprised if she got cut/merged. Like, if you wanna theorize anyway, go for it, I'll be happy to watch! Just don't want you to make a whole video without knowing that people will immediately object to it because of those Rafe quotes.

I specifically remember the video, but him saying he likes Elaida doesn't mean parts of her story won't be merged with others. I love Thom, but he was merged with Min this season in the way that Mat travels with her not Thom. Merging doesn't mean Linadrin will swallow the whole character.

Regarding Logain, it appears the show is setting him up to resent Rand on purpose. Logain embraces being the savior, while Rand rejects it. Rand can channel, Logain no longer can. I think the purpose is to set him on a path that could lead to the Dark - giving him Androl’s story would thus create far more of a redemption arc. Logain’s story is going to be paralleled to Demandred - always resentful of the Dragon. But Logain’s glory will be choosing the light

liandrin = liandrin + elaida I think. They've already foreshadowed this with comments from Sheriam etc "Liandrins little cabal"

Rafe stated in an interview that Elaida would be in the show so unless he changed his mind I don't think this will be true.

What about failed schools?

As a show watcher , I had that they made Liandrin a bad guy, just flat out, instead of just a woman with different opinions

Knew lanfear from the start, most fans insults the actress looks + some More higher than thou attitude from fellow book readers, really annoying (not you tho).

This season is a huge Improvement. It's still a terrible adaptation of The Wheel of Time, but it's at least watchable. Some of the mistakes when season 1 are bringing down this season. I thought the casting of Min was terrible, I can't see her being with Rand. They focussed a lot on how slowly the Aes Sedai age, but they never bothered to come up with some sort of the VFX to show that ageless look. The diversity of the cast is making the story harder to follow. There's no consistency in what people look like Alanna's family I guess we're all Indian looking, I couldn't tell where they were supposed to be. As they expand the world and we meet people from other countries, it would have made the story easier to follow. They should have made Moraine's sister her niece instead. The age gap is not dramatic enough. We haven't met the Aiel yet but they've given people reddish hair and that should be rare.How hard would it have been to make Elayne a blonde?
