ABOUT VEDANTA
Vedanta is one of the world’s most ancient religious philosophies and one of its broadest. Based on the Vedas, the sacred scriptures of India, Vedanta affirms the oneness of existence, the divinity of the soul, and the harmony of religions.
ABOUT VEDANTA NY
Vedanta Society of New York is affiliated with the Ramakrishna Order of India. In fact, this is the Order's first Center started by Swami Vivekananda, in 1894. It was a historic event, for the seed of the world-wide Ramakrishna Movement was sown here in New York over a century ago. Swami Sarvapriyananda is the present Resident Minister and Spiritual Leader of the Vedanta Society of New York.

Dear Swamiji, this is an exceptionally heart warming talk, I cannot thank you enough for saying these words about the love for Lord in our day and age. I come from Orthodox Christian background and at its core it is very similar to what you have said about love for the Lord, and some of the stories about our monks and holy men are as full of wonders resulting from their devotion to God as the stories you have told. But Orthodox Christianity seems to be so distorted by theology and so hopelessly misinterpreted by church-goers that I was despairing to apply its teachings to my life. But now, seeing it in the light of Advaita and the Bhakti yoga in particular I am convinced that I can apply those withing the familiar Orthodox Christian context. Your lucid explanations are like a wipe to a dusty window: suddenly a new light begins to come through. Thank you again and let the Lord bless you on whatever path you find yourself next!

I now bow down to modern technology which has made me so lucky to listen to the such par excellence lectures of shri Swami Sarvapriyanandaji as if I am sitting in front of him in New York though in reality far away in India as if in same time and space.

Vatsal Dixit I agree..we are lucky to be able to listen and see the Vedanta Society's swami's talks on our phones or phablets in the comfort of our home.We don't have to catch a train and walk to a temple to listen to a Swami's talk.We can easily pause the KZread video and write down on paper so we can meditate on the subject the next day.I bow down to useful modern technology.I think us humans still have a long way to go inoder to catch up with older civilisations like the Sumerians.

Did Vaisnavites took the whole licence of preaching bhakti alone. Whatever Swami spoke or explained about bhakti is 1000 times more powerful than any Vaisnavites. Since he spoke it with pure mind and with pure love of God.

Swamiji, in this beautiful discourse i need one clarification for better understanding the meaning of verse 22 of chapter 9 of Bhagabat Gita that you discussed. "...theshyam nityaabhiyuktanam yogashyemam yahamaham"...i saw on some religious website that they said " God provides his devotees the Spiritual asset that they lack and protects the Spiritual assets that have"...my question is that whether it is spiritual qualities or deficiency that God takes care of and where needed provides with or even the worldly assets and worldly necessities(of His devotees) are also taken care of or replenished by God wherever needed?...

Anindya Singhachowdhury a simple answer. god gave us everything. Do you think the job someone does is their own effort ? The highest level of truth says not
