Will enjoy playing it , lovely tune and great arrangement. Thank you for taking the time with DADGAD, I’ve just started to take it seriously after 15+ years of standard tuning. I’m even experimenting with JAZZ arrangements in DADGAD! Keep up the good work.

I’ve watched numerous demos from TNAG and “Jon is Just Too Loud” your guitar is in with the top 1% of all that I’ve heard. I have several Taylor’s but even they don’t come close. Good choice!😃😶‍🌫️🎶🙏

@@DougYoungGuitar and you never catch yourself singing along?? I don't need a nice voice. But this song (rather a hymn like Amazing Grace) seems incomplete to me w/o a separate melody. You can still solo ad lib after 1-2 verses ;)

Not really. The voice is one instrument of many. I prefer to play instrumental guitar. I am playing the melody, not just an "ad lib". Perhaps you have not encountered fingerstyle guitar, or classical guitar before? With this approach, the guitarist is the whole band, playing melody, bass, harmony, etc. No vocal necessary. I understand that vocal music dominates the pop music world, but there is a lot of music that does not involve singing. That is where my interest lies.

Thanks for the note, John. Glad to hear the book is helping with your DADGAD explorations. On a more jazzy side - maybe not really "jazz", but more jazzy chords - you might check out my When Sunny Gets Blue and Still Crazy arrangements, and also a friend, Sandy Shalk has an instructional video with Stefan Grossman's Workshop specifically on DADGAD jazz, with some very cool arrangements! Tony McManus tells the story of how John Renbourn once told him you can play anything in DADGAD except for jazz, prompting Tony to create his killer arrangement of Goodbye Pork Pie Hat :-)
